@@DanPlayingGames Chatting nonsense. No United fan wanted him out. It’s players not giving enough effort and our greedy owners ruining our club. He could have lost the first 5 games of the season and we’d still be behind him.
As a Liverpool fan I have to say that I admire how Ten Hag approached this game, he is great to listen to. Honest and intelligent. Not afraid to leave out some big egos for the greater interest of the team, respect!
As a Chelsea fan, since 2003 may I add admit & put it out there. Liverpool lacked ideas and a tactical approach. From my analysis of the game, I feel as though Firmino was a waste of position In this sort of match. I believe if Liverpool played a 4-4-2 with Slah & Diaz for the counter attack they could have gotton a result. I understand the player injuries, but Klopp should have planned for another tactical approach given the fact that Man United have lost 2 in a row & would be pumped up for thr derby.
Imagine being ten Hag, a Dutchman still getting used to English, having a Manc, a Corkonian and a Scouser put questions to him? Thats got to be even harder than beating Liverpool.

Erik's face when Roy was talking. Poor guy had to translate in his head. You could tell he was struggling to understand him at first. 😂 Great win but it's only one game. The players need to show this level of hunger and ability in every game.
I actually liked Harry Maguire today, I thought that's where I want to see him play every game he didn't put a foot wrong which is something we can't say usually. If Maguire can put in that performance every game, I won't have a problem with him ...the bench suits you best harry
Imagine going crazy after beating a team that couldn’t defeat Fulham and Palace. Rock bottom standards. Only 3 points in 3 games. Banter club mentality
This is a good coach. He's clearly a floor general and knows how to drive results. This is the guy you want you to lead your team, especially if they have been so ill-disciplined like United has for the last few years. If this was basketball, he is the type of point guard you want. He's got excellent standards and definitely the mindset of a champion.
Too soon to tell but I agree with you. A good coach has to know what the problem is in the first place. And he's right that the problem was attitude. Talent needs to be added but we didn't need more of it to beat Brentford and Brighton. We needed attitude. I have a good feeling about him. His understanding of tactics and strategy also shows in the interview.
How on earth have you drawn these conclusions, utd fans are clowns just like their players. One game out of 4 against the worst Liverpool side I’ve seen since 2015 and now “he’s the point guard you want”. What does a football manager have anything to do with a point guard. If I were u I’d stick to the NBA buddy.
Malacia was fantastic for me in this game! He has the right mix of aggression, determination, passing ability, and athleticism. The duo of Varane and Martinez cover for the weaknesses of one another quite a bit, and even scott put in a shift today... it only makes me think how good Casemiro will be in our team. Having Eriksen as a deep lying playmaker takes away pressure from Bruno to turn his back to net and collect the ball from our defence, as Eriksen is a progressive player with great IQ. Lastly, the trio of Rashford, Sancho, and Martial looked great together.
I loved Ten Hag's comment the other day about he has always had slow starts at every club he managed but he always got the job done. He has total belief in himself & it showed on the pitch last night that the players have belief now too!
He was often ridiculed at Ajax because verbally he ain't the strongest and that was speaking Dutch... His English makes us Dutch cry of shame but he doesnt care (he did improve a lot over the summer). In the end he always got the job done. I am not a football fan but I definitely respect Ten Hag a lot. In due time he will lead Manchester to succes.
Real reason he was ridiculed at Ajax is because he is not from Amsterdam, but a "Tukker" from Twente, Overijssel. Chief Editor Valentijn Driessen of the Telegraaf paper (you could call it a Dutch version of the SUN :P ) hated the fact that (as he saw it) Ajax needed a countryboy to sort out their problem and actually did everything in his power to be éxtra critical, éxtra viscious and éxtra over the top whenever Ajax made mistakes. I still get a grin on my face when I remember that good run Ajax had in the Champions League in 2019. First the prelims against Sturm Graz, Standard and Dynamo Kiev. "This is going to be difficult" was Driessen's standard quote. Won most of the games, only two ties. Then "the impossible group of Death" as Driessen drew it up: They would not win at Bayern, they were too strong, they would not win at Benfica, they were too savvy. They could maybe win at AEK, but they could be very nasty. qualified again together with Bayern And then the knockout phase: both games against Real and Juventus Driessen was croaking that Ten Hag's Ajax would lose, he almost was happy when Ajax díd lose the home game 1-2, boy, did he shut up when Ajax won 1-4 in Madrid. And finally he was somehow grudgingly giving Ten Hag some "Although it will be very difficult against Juve." Won again. I almost start to think Ajax lost at Spurs because Driessen suddenly stopped being Oscar the Grouch and became a Ten Hag supporter :D
"Ten Hag [cancelled a planned day off and] punished his team for running a total of eight-and-a-half miles less than Brentford by making them cover the same distance on Sunday in temperatures of over 30 degrees" (DailyMail, 14th August). Wow
Ten hag has found the best position for maguire Not a single forward passed him Not a single mis passed ball Not a single foul Not a single defensive error leading to goal Keep it up maguire

as an arsenal fan, I always believed ten hag is a top manager and would reform united. even with this flock of players he inherited and he managed to make them play like a top 4 team. all the big egos at the club must be gone and then bring in hungry players period. hopefully we can see both arsenal and manu rival for titles in the future like the good old days.
For real. Ole's top 3 finishes were a fluke. They happened when the stadiums were empty. Then when the crowds came back United played like crap again. We definitely needed this coach.
Yup. Arsenal is actually my 2nd favourite team after United since the good old Bergkamp days. Their passing was a benchmark. Hope the good old days for both United and Arsenal are back.
@@alexalexalex797 broo a reform takes atleast 2 years lol. It's cuz of fans like u and the board that the club is in the mud. We need to give him time. It's not easy to change something in a month or 2. Alot of change plus experimentation is required to get a change which takes time. So stfu and wait.
And to get the team to preform under that intense pressure, and to make big calls for selection shows he a man MUFC need as the manager for the long term future
From my point of view, the selection of Varane is decisive. When the defense lacks solidity, all areas of the game suffer. His presence and the quality of his interventions gave confidence to the whole team, including Martinez, who was also much more efficient. I wonder if in reality Varane is not the man of the match even without being the best on the field. Sometimes the balance of a team depends on very little.
Varane stabilizes the defense for sure. Agree with Sylvester. Malacia locked Salah beautifully. Especially there was a good opportunity he stopped torward the end of the game.
As a United fan, there’s nothing I don’t like about Ten Hag. Even his hairstyle gets a thumbs up from me. I think we’ve found our man. You could see three ex-players in this interview hanging on his every word. Welcome home, Erik.

What a match, what a performance. I really hope they'll give him time, cuz he's the best manager you'll get to lead the rebuild. He doesn't care about players statuses or big signings, if you don't perform, you're out. What he brings is structure and discipline which he integrated at Ajax too. Youngsters have a fighting chance in this environment which will proof beneficial for players like Elanga. Oh and this. Most people don't understand why he's targeting Antony, but believe me. If Antony played tonight he would've destroyed Robbo.
From an arsenal fan, it was nice to see united play well today. Maguire on the bench was quite satisfying I must admit. Seeing defenders than can actually defend , kick attackers and not afraid to run themselves to a cramp was just beautiful to watch. Cramp away lads cramp away. Long may it continue.
I think I speak for many man United fans when I say IN ERIK TEN HAG WE TRUST ♥️ that was the most excited I’ve felt in years as a United fan! What a match for us ♥️♥️
I honestly cannot believe what this man has achieved with this performance. Everyone predicted a bloodbath and Liverpool fans will feel humiliated losing to us. Well done
LoL! I'm a Liverpool fan and was expecting a bad result! That 4-0 was a wakeup call not to play a high line against a team set up to exploit it, specially when you lack an energetic pressing midfield and team that seems not to care about winning this season! It was all predictable actually! My worry is that it'll be repeated by other teams and Trent will be targeted again and again till Klopp is sacked!
It's true, we do. It's like we've traded places. The commitment is not there from us this season and it's incredible that we're on the verge of throwing away a PL campaign after just a few matches but... Enjoy your victory and potential proper reboot.
No not Everyone I got this win right I predicted man u losing to Brentford and winning at pool I'm on a role even klopp knew he was gonna lose before the game
@@fwfeo I think most of all it shows the importance of Fabinho in your team, the lack of him meant Hendo had to cover in DM and Harvey Elliot does not have the same positional nous to cover the right side of the pitch when Salah and Trent move forward. This left acres of space on that side for us to exploit Trent. Which meant Gomez had to cover that space more, leaving VVD to deal with 2 men at once.

For the first time Maguire knew how to sit back, the positional awareness top notch and most importantly, he couldn't be dribbled past. Just hand him the B(Bench)PFA player of the year award.
I like Ten Hag. I wasn’t bothered about the 2 previous results in regards to if he was the right man for the job. I know he is. I’ve been impressed with him since he became manager. He doesn’t take any rubbish, straight talking and he lets everyone know who’s boss.
As a Liverpool fan, I thought United were excellent and fully deserved the win. Liverpool were all over the place and very poor going forward. I really like ten Hag and I think he fits United very well. Liverpool will come back and I don't think this is going to be a reflection of the whole season.
You guys weren't at the races today. A Liverpool and Man U team both performing well sings through the Premier League. When we next meet at Anfield I'm sure it will be a great contest.
You will be quick to throw him under the bus when United fails, just like you did with all the previous manager, Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho, Solskjær and Ralf Rangnick. It's one game, narrow win against a totally injury ridden Liverpool side that seems drained after relentless last season. Liverpool played a bit worse in the draw against Fulham and a bit better in the draw against Crystal Palace. It will be interesting what all the people here talking of Ten Hag as a genius will say when he starts losing games again.
@@JIMP1000 No, they were also missing in defense Matip and Konate who both are higher in the pecking order than Joe Gomes. In midfield they were obviously missing Thiago so Keita was supposed to finally start after recovering from illness but got injured before match as well, so midfield was Henderson, Milner and Elliott. Look at their bench for Christ's sake. There were like 10-11 guys .unavailable for this match so just to fill the seats on the bench, Klopp put in 2 goal keepers, including Davies(Liverpool's 4th choice goal keeper).

I'm just so happy with the application and effort from today's game. You can see how much it meant to Roy as well, he's there looking like a proud dad. As if he's saying "this is what I've been talking about for a whole year! Characters on the pitch!" So happy for ten Hag that they held on for the win, because a draw would have killed the mood and overshadowed the real change in attitude we saw from the players today.
Or maybe it was just the usual crap they used to do when Wally Solskjaer was there suddenly pull off a performance to a win a game they expected to lose then go and get trounced by Southampton next week
@@markpugh6808 Yea, that fear is real here. However, it was refreshing to see the application, because that had completely dried up last season. Mind, I don't agree with everything the boss said after the match. I thought Bruno was average and McTominay was at sea most of the second half, certainly not a magnificent performance. Rashford looked a different player though, and I am happy to see that and hope it continues. What is different here is that this coach makes them pay for their lazy performances. Maybe they are playing like this to avoid another 13.8km running session the day after matchday lol.
Malacia is the best value signing we've made in years. He can defend like a tiger, dribble, pass & he's clever in his marking and movement. It feels like a mistake that we've signed him 😀
Ten Hag played with Ajax against Feyenoord. There's a clip around on youtube when he ask he's assistant 'who is that back?, he's really good'. The rest is history, I think Malacia will be in the dutch national squad in a few years.
You are not a Liverpool fan mate. And it was 1 match, where Liverpool has like 10 players injured. Plus Liverpool just played badly just like they did against Fulham and Crystal Palace. They seem drained after relentless run last season chasing every title and playing every final and losing the league by a single point. The net spend this summer is around 5 million or something. Our owners are a joke, Liverpool fans should be protesting, not United fans.
@@jonb3150 If you knew anything about the Glazers, which you clearly do not, you'd understand why United fans protest. You guys really need a midfielder more than anything, but FSG have given full control to Klopp and co. over the past 5 years I'm not sure you're on the grounds to complain. "Like 10 players injured" is a bit of a stretch too, you had a full strength back 4 and they were all completely crap.
when i saw the team sheet i thought we were going to get completely played through and offer no resistance. instead he got the most attacking line up ive seen in years to defend brilliantly, but not in the usual two pivot way. A smothering press. Ten Hag has proved he has the tactical chops tonight, and the sheer balls. i mean the the balls to do that, to make those calls coming off a 4 nil loss and bad form, the risk. He might just have the mentality to be the coach we need
As soon as I seen the back 4 I was pretty confident. That same team out there with Casemiro for mctominay will be very very good. But I will say, young Scott had a good game today.
So now the question becomes, did they raise themselves just because it was Liverpool or has Ten Hag become the first coach in a long time at that club to actually instill an attitude shift in his players.
Its not surprising that the players who were phenomenal were malacia, varane and marintinez, two new signings and varane who is a serial winner but not got much playing time. He just needs his own players and definitely things will change
That's what a lot of us are interested in. We'll see in the next few games. I genuinely hope it's a step in the right direction. As the Dutch commentator said during the game, If they can bring this kind is intensity and believe every single game, you might not need many more players. It's more the question of, are they willing to go through the fire for each other. Lets see what the next few games bring.
Ten Hag is a great coach...we all knew this at Ajax where we laughed at him at first as well.....I guess the old saying "don't judge a book by it's cover" is in place here!!!

I was at the game. Maguire was horrible in the rondo in the pre-game warm-up, losing the ball over and over. Once the game began, he did better. Only fell off his chair twice and spilled tea on his shorts early in the second half, but otherwise, a perfect performance.
These players have proved a few times they can play and play well, its getting them to do it consistently, and wow Varane and Martinez and Malacia was glorious.
indeed and even the teamwork between dalot, scotty and sancho on the right was great defence wise. Lovely to see them actually playing and communicating as a team throughout the entire game.
Real good game, I have a 20 year relative, who bought a ticket to watch that game (with his pay). Left out 12pm from London to catch a coach to Manchester and came back around 7am in the morning, he came back so happy, still had to leave out for work. Still some areas to clean up, Liverpool where missing key players but nevertheless excellent playing. Great to see defenders rather die and get booked than lose the ball.

Nicky Butt was a first team regular over Paul Scholes on many occasions. John O’Shea played across the entire back four and midfield four without fuss. Man Utd would kill for the four players you mentioned right now, and not just because of hard work. That is a prerequisite.

As a united fan, I appreciate all those managers but Pep was favorite, the way he talks and acts. Ten Hag give me a bit of his vibes while being cheeky
As a Liverpool fan, I’m not even mad at them. Where Utd pulled that spirit from, I’ll never know. This is the most fight and running I’ve seen from them in absolute YEARS, all previous wins aside. But for us to collapse like that, I don’t know where to start. If both teams fought equally hard and Utd still won, then fair play to them. But we never showed up. You can blame injuries all you want, but we had 9 of 11 players in our first squad. Only Thiago and Nunez/Jota were missing. You could also argue for Matip. But! Utd did NOT have the full starting 11. They only had like 7 of their previous top 11 starting. THAT is what furiates me… absolutely shocking and disgusting by us.
Liverpool players just seem totally switched off. Like they are drained from relentless last season. Chasing all trophies, 3 finals and fighting tooth and nail to chase City for the league title to only lose it by a single point. Look at the injries, like 10 guys not available for this match. Then I look at Virgil, Andy, Fabinho, Hendo and even Salah and they are just not the same as before. And with Bobby Firmino, I just do not know what happened to him, totally lost it. We played ok in Community shield, but then came the shocker at Fulham, absolutely awful performance.
This is the best showing from Man United in like 2 years. I liked the change, they didn't look like headless chickens passing the ball left and right in the middle field until they lost possession. I saw creativity, they tried to exploit empty spaces, didn't give space and were quick with the pass forward, really good stuff, hopefully they turn it around and win the next few. It's pretty fair to say this Man United team is a force to be reckoned with when they don't comply with the structural game and fall into the defensive traps of organized structures. It's been tedious seeing the boys passing for 45-60minutes waiting for opportunities to arise, truth be told is in the EPL, teams are well organized and the best way to find chances is to throw a curveball and be creative, and when you get away from conformity, the rest speaks for itself because you catch opponents off-guard.

One of Utds worst starts in their history. If he was an NBA point guard, he would be at the end of the bench.
Drive results? What were the scored against Brighton and Brentford? Sick results them.
United fans are living in a dream and think he can make them champions with this crap team
He just gave the most Roy Keane answer to Roy Keane. Dosent matter if they only do it in the big games, needs to be every game. Great stuff.
That's their job
Ha that’s exactly what I thought. Keano would’ve loved that 😂
Roy looked at him like a proud dad
Malacia was fantastic for me in this game! He has the right mix of aggression, determination, passing ability, and athleticism. The duo of Varane and Martinez cover for the weaknesses of one another quite a bit, and even scott put in a shift today... it only makes me think how good Casemiro will be in our team. Having Eriksen as a deep lying playmaker takes away pressure from Bruno to turn his back to net and collect the ball from our defence, as Eriksen is a progressive player with great IQ. Lastly, the trio of Rashford, Sancho, and Martial looked great together.
Great Post Mark! I'm excited for Casemiro to come in. Will put a cheeky bet on Man U to win the Title.
You named everyone so should've mentioned Dalot too
I agree with you, I think Scott played really well too
Antony for Rashford & we're cooking
@@siddharthchoudhary6333 Most definitely, me forgetting to mention Dalot speaks volumes to how others in our squad stepped up today.
They could maybe win at AEK, but they could be very nasty. qualified again together with Bayern
And then the knockout phase: both games against Real and Juventus Driessen was croaking that Ten Hag's Ajax would lose, he almost was happy when Ajax díd lose the home game 1-2, boy, did he shut up when Ajax won 1-4 in Madrid. And finally he was somehow grudgingly giving Ten Hag some "Although it will be very difficult against Juve." Won again. I almost start to think Ajax lost at Spurs because Driessen suddenly stopped being Oscar the Grouch and became a Ten Hag supporter :D

I've never seen a manager be so involved and willing with the media ever before. Good luck ETH!
ETH came across really well. His English will improve but his footballing logic seems impeccable. Answered all the questions really well
As a Ajax fan I love to see EtH perform at Man U. This trainer is obsessed with details and fighting spirit. Also Antony will bring firework to the United squad. This man is so fast en skilled. Mark my words new Neymar Jr.
Bravo! Well said brother...! Indeed he is brilliant
I want to see Antony so much wearing the red shirt
@@vladislavivanov1546 Well he is already wearing a Red with white shirt at Ajax 😜 Let’s hope he stays in our squad and then after the WC 2022 you can pay the right price. This guy has it all, Neymar 2.0 infused with Ajax DNA 🔥 🔥 🔥

As an ajax fan, i enjoyed the match alot. Premier League football is great to watch. Ten hag now gets the players he wants, and he enjoys man united.
I hope he can win alot of 🏆 for them. Feels like the van persie van gaal moments. I hope you sign antony soon
0:43 yeah yeah look at Carragher he is so happy!🥰
What a manager🤩We love you Erik
Glad to see Maguire comfortable again during a match ! Less mistakes than previous matches and his presence could be felt!
Ikr. If hes not on the pitch, he will definitely make less mistakes
Man of the match for me along with Shaw.. for staying out of the game
Man of the match for real
I was at the game. Maguire was horrible in the rondo in the pre-game warm-up, losing the ball over and over. Once the game began, he did better. Only fell off his chair twice and spilled tea on his shorts early in the second half, but otherwise, a perfect performance.
FEWER, not less mistakes. English isn't even my first language. What's your first language?
These players have proved a few times they can play and play well, its getting them to do it consistently, and wow Varane and Martinez and Malacia was glorious.
indeed and even the teamwork between dalot, scotty and sancho on the right was great defence wise. Lovely to see them actually playing and communicating as a team throughout the entire game.
Martinez is a beast. Against Brentford I think the judgememt was unfair
@@JBKNL indeed it was, it's nok like Mee overpowered him, he literally just stumbled over hos own feet and Martinez stumbled over him.
Such dedication from your relative! You wouldn’t get many fans traveling that far to watch so many teams
just another proof that fans of man utd are from London 😂. good on ya fan though for supporting his team.

As a long time Liverpool fan, I have had it with Klopp. He has been finished for a while but this is the last straw. If I don't see him sacked I do not know how much longer I can support this club. Get a serious manager like Steve Bruce in so we can start winning trophies again
@@copymerchant1768 I don't understand, how can you stop supporting the club you support and start supporting another club? I'm a Man U fan win, lose or draw and forever. Klopp is a class manager, be careful what you wish for..
Surprised how good the word knowledge of Ten Hag already is. Gotta respect Ten Hag the way he stays calm when intense questions are being asked. That is what we want to see eventhough has received a lot of critisism over the weeks now
Most dutch people are fluent in english
I love it when everytime Lisandro or Raphael made a good tackle, they show Maguire face
Was it just me or did Ten say everything Roy has been saying for 3 years!? Leadership, older players who have won things…
You don't need skill, just work hard lmao, you are right. That's all utd did tonight and it worked
@@xerikl United had that for years. Guys who would run into the ground for the club. Gary Neville, John O'Shea, Darren Fletcher, Nicky Butt none of whom were particularly skillful or talented but would give everything for the club when asked to.
Most of the United pundits talk absolutely rubbish. Rio for example has awful takes but Roy says it as it is without delusion or trying to sound clever acting like things are more deep than they actually are.
@@jamiestewart48 You are rewriting history my friend, although unintentionally.
Gary Neville was an outrageously good player, and you have bought in to his own self depreciation.
Darren Fletcher covered the grass like few before him, but his the quality in his weight of pass and desire to be progressive was evident.
Nicky Butt was a first team regular over Paul Scholes on many occasions.
John O’Shea played across the entire back four and midfield four without fuss.
Man Utd would kill for the four players you mentioned right now, and not just because of hard work. That is a prerequisite.
@@xerikl NO. You need skill but working hard is first necessity
I love Erics smirk when Neville says keep it going.
Hes exactly what we needed the pin to burst the proverbial bubble of the many egos in the dressing room made some amazing signings and seems to have got the team by the scruff of the neck. Let the work begin I for one am very excited to see where he can take this club. He deserves this chance and we are very lucky to have him. A top technician that doesn't park the bus.

It's not a coincidence that the first game without Maguire was an immediate more exciting game.
Best game I have seen from Utd for a while due to Ten Hag. He is not perfect, but I have faith in him what he demands. MUFC fans as a whole demand and deserve GREAT football every game!

Dropped maguire and Ronaldo, always love a manager with balls!!
Wow..the first Scouser who talks sense!..respect pal!😉👹
u could also argue that 4 is better than the other 4
Liverpool players just seem totally switched off.
I have never heard a Liverpool fan speak the truth before
With you being a scouser there no doubt in my mind you stole that comment from someone.
