Thank you for all your support, it means a lot ....Paul.

You can still buy this in Holland. They also sell an aftershave balm and a cream also which I picked up when I was over there a few months ago. I wish they would sell in the UK as its great stuff.
That's good, hope you enjoy them...many thanks :-)
I enjoy watching your videos they are lovely as you forgot to emphasize during you shave it's lovely to hear the sound of disappearing whiskers keep up the great videos mate we love them
I love it when Paul wishes us a good week like thanks man I did need that boost after the first week of uni
Good luck in Uni :-)
Great video 👍🏻Thanks for the additional recipe! I’m hungry now 🤣🤣
Congratulations on reaching another milestone! Thank you for for your virtual friendship. Always enjoy spending time with and taking hikes with you. Sincerely, Hoot AL, USA
Excellent shave Paul may have to try those blades out. You can’t go wrong with a Gillette adjustable. Compliments to MrsH on the beautiful flowers all the best.
Thank you Steven :-)
Super shave there Paul💈💈 The old Gillette Slim Adjustable certainly works as good today as it did 60 years ago. Nice score on the blades, very reasonable. My son will be in Amsterdam next month on vacation, maybe he can score some soap while there. Alys should have a settee by the bathroom window so you can talk to her while shaving😊 Spring in the bathroom, magnificent colors this morning thanks Mrs H. Great video and reviews again, always worth watching👍 Enjoy!
Thanks Terry, yes good idea regarding Alys...lol....hope you get some of the soap, great stuff..... :-)
I love the smell of that soap and the performance is great for the price. Bought some last summer at an Albert Heijn store in a suburb outside Amsterdam! About 2 euro or so!
Hi Paul I've just started to come over to the old way of shaving I like watching your video's you are a definite pro at this Graham Warburton keep the video's going Paul !!!
Great video especially the bit about the burgers 😂 I do find I don’t get as good of shaves with my slim and fatboy as I do with my de89 or my r41. I don’t really know why that is. Im Still learning since I started in August of 2018. Keep up the great videos and info. I’ve learned a lot just from your videos. 👊
Always exciting to try new products. Your aftershave comments reminded my of my father-in-law and how he always had several bottles of aftershave open, and when they got low he would pour them all into one bottle, which often didn't work out very well. He was in his 80's and his sense of smell wasn't very good and he was applying way too much! Thank you and Mrs. H for making this day a little brighter. Sincerely, Ossie
It is Ossie, your father-in-law could have created a new scent there....lol...bless him. Many thanks Ossie, have a nice week :-)
I have to say I kind of understand where people are coming from when you said they asked you to try more water when lathering because your lathers do tend to go on a little bit dry and concentrated. But hey, everyone has different preferences for how they like their shaving lather. For instance, I really love mine to be really cushiony so I like to build it up with plenty of water to have a certain volume to it because I find that having cushion is just as important if not maybe a little bit more important than just slickness by itself. and actually, I noticed that whenever I have my lather built up to have amount of cushion and volume that I like to have it at, that usually means I've added enough water to actually enhance the slickness even further since I've tried different approaches to what types of lather I end up producing. And a lather for me that isn't very cushiony even if it is extremely slick still leaves me feeling a lot more sore and sensitive after a shave and I noticed that I do end up nicking myself a decent bit more with that kind of lather. But, whatever works for each of us is exactly what we need! Cheers!
Well said, like you say, depends on what people enjoy or works best for them, there skin etc.... have a nice week and thank you :-)
Hi Paul- Great Wednesday shave today; thank you! Lovely flowers from Mrs H- thanks, as well! Good tip on a new blade to try and it seemed to work quite well in the Slim Adjustable. The Purist is a nice brush, to be sure. Does the job really well and the handle is definitely non-slip. Congratulations on 12K subscribers- well earned, my friend! I hope you have a great rest of the week and see you on Sunday for the weekend shave! All the best, Paul!
Vergulde Hand makes Fine Accoutrements’ shaving soaps. I had a Fine Platinum shave just last week with both the soap and the aftershave.
If you have a Fine puck, you’re shaving with the Vergulde Hand base. Today’s shave was a favorite: Game Changer .84, Voskhod (3), Proraso white preshave, Barrister/Mann Seville on a RazoRock F-400 brush, Paul H shave (wtg, xtg, atg, pickups). Curveball: pickup pass with Leaf razor loaded with 3 Derby blades. What a great pickup razor that is. Thayer’s Superhazel, then Seville aftershave.
Smooth as a baby’s hind end. Soft without a balm.
Sounds a great shave that, many thanks :-)
Hi Paul, hello from Shenzhen again.Great shave with an old soap and an even older razor 😜. One day I'll try an adjustable to enjoy different aggressions .... I noticed you were talking about wetting the soap a bit (adding more water mid shave?) . I used some Trufitt and Hill 'Luxury' soap recently that I've used a few times before and enjoyed. I'm not sure why this time but the lather seemed to 'fade' on my face. Was this too much water or too little? The brush was the same as previous times, an Omega boar brush which is wonderfully soft (at last). It seemed I just couldn't get the lather to stay as thick and dense as usual, I really don't know why. I even tried loading the brush a little more to no avail, still faded. I'm sure that before I began the brush wasn't any drier or wetter than I've used it before, soaked and then shaken prior to loading and the soap soaked for a little while to slightly bloom, just like previous times. Any advice to a newbie to DE shaving of 3-4 months? Looking forward to any advice from you or anyone.
Good shave Paul. Funnily enough I bought some Dollar blades off eBay last year but mine were Dollar Stainless. They were £2.99 for 50 so I thought I would take a punt and bought 2 packs. They’re quite good to be fair and have now gone into my rotation👍
Good price that, they work well so far....many thanks.
Very good Paul! Have you ever heard of a Brazilian shaving cream called Palmindaya? It is well worth knowing, excellent cream, abundant foam, firm and for being menthol it is very refreshing, you will love it. Hugs!
Good morning Paul. I am sort of in the boat with you about too many blades...yet I am looking for more blades. Personally, mine blade hunt come from knowing my vintage blade stockpile won't last forever and I am looking to buy modern blades with the same sort of shave feel. Pure craziness, since I think I will expire before I ever use what I have on-hand in the vault. Old soaps: I think most shaving soap are good for many years and I have 107 year old Williams shaving soap to prove it. Why the manufacture puts x number of months? I believe so the scent of the soap is fresh. I am sure the scent of my older soaps have changed or completely vanished from what the makers intended. Still, all those work very well for the purpose of shaving. Alys is very vocal today; I am a fan. Your burger recipe is great! Add fried breaded Onion Rings and a Chocolate Malted shake and you would hands down be as good as, if not better than, anything from the States. The shave results; superb! Thanks for sharing. Take care.
Hi Todd, that 107 soap sounds impressive, and proves a good point doesn't it. very interesting, oh and your right breaded onion rings, superb addition to the burger, many thanks and hope your weekend is going great :-)
My favorite DE safety razor is also the Gillette slim adjustable. Mine is a 1962 made razor. Such a great well made perfect light razor.
Great razor's aren't they , thanks Josh.
Gr8 shave again Paul 💈 Amazing how the 'out of date' soaps still work so well. Guess its just a guide to indicate when its at its best & a get out for them when 4yrs down the line you contact them saying its no good anymore!! 🤣 Stunning colourful display Mrs H 💐 Enjoy the rest of your week both 💈💐👍💈
Great shave Paul, you are really good and informative. I enjoy watching.
Great video Paul, the Vergulde soap seems very good, very colourful bouquet from Mrs. H...All the best Mark
It's very nice Mark yes, hope your having a good week, many thanks :-)
Great shave, Paul. It looks like your shaving soap 'aged well' like wine! ;)
Best shaving soap you can get for the price here in Holland
Mr. H thank you for the videos. I am new to wet shaving and very much appreciate all your work.
Welcome to the wet shaving world, it can take time getting used to shaving this way, but worth the patience...hope you enjoy your shaves...thank you :-)
Ciao Paul great job and happy for 12.000......fantastic 💈👍👏🤩🍻💈
Thank you Enzo, hope your keeping well :-)
Wow this soap is an amazing performer and the lather looks really nice. 🥇
It works really well, nice soap...many thanks :-)

Great video nice shave very informative for me silver blue blades work good in any razor 👍
Thanks Stephen :-)
Nice shave Paul, looking good man.
Thank you Mrs H
Thank you Jerry :-)
Based on your recent video, purchased the Manly Stuff full brass "Fatty" razor. Great product. A true heavyweight. Very good construction.
Nice razor isn't it, hope you have many great shaves with it.....thank you :-)
Still available in the Netherlands. They also sell two brsuhes, canned goo and an aftershave balm. And the cheapest alumn block in existence.
Glad it's still available there...many thanks :-)
How’s it goin Paul..weather is horrible here 11 degrees today so I’ve bn watching yours and other shave videos today
Hope you enjoy the videos , weather is cooler here with rain , many thanks :-)
Good morning friend
It’s Jon it’s good to see you today my friend always enjoy the video and music 🎼
Thank you again Jon :-)
I had an Edwin Jagger 89DE for my first razor. Now I have a Wilkinson Sword Classic(the first version, the black one). Do you have any suggestions for my next razor?
Can you visualise 12k subscribers? Wrexham football club would love to have that many fans watching a home game!! You deserve it though, you and Mrs. H. Best of everything to you both.
Thanks for another great video Paul. 👍💈
Your welcome, thanks for watching Rick :-)
Alice Shes Loves The Shaves !! 😸😸
She does indeed :-)
PaulHFilms have you tried anymore of the HOT Da Bomb ?
@@kevinb3030 Yes, I mixed it with some mango sauce the other night, nice too, still hot too :-)
PaulHFilms There is a guy on RUclips that drank like half the bottle he ended up in emergency room !! What moron would try that ?
Very nice shave Paul, amazing lather it was 👍 wishing you and Mrs H a good week 😊, I am planning to record a shave today with a Pink Woolf razor which is to be used for the first time.
Cool will check that out
@@AjayKumar-rp4jq sure I will post soon
Thank you, hope you enjoy your shave, exciting using something for the first time :-)
Never done pick up time. 3 passes don’t want dots it’s next day when you get up
Skin is dry wit the little red hard bits
As to soap once had a puck in cupboard for over 25 years not in a container just on its own
Started DE shaving again decided to use the soap it lathered great
Had a great shave 20 mins later bump bump bump needless to say it went in bin lol
Use to love Boots
Yes, not nice when that happens.....many thanks John
Good shaves Paul. I've been having some good shaves too!
That's good Sean, many thanks :-)
Nice shave as always sir.
Many thanks :-)
Congratulations on 12k subscribers. Well deserved. Also, excellent advice about testing ones self for soap allergies. FWIW, my experince with really old soaps is: ignore its age and go for it. For exapmple, I've got a Williams puck from ca. 1975-76, a Williams puck for some earlier undetermined date, and a tube of Williams cream from ca. 1954, and, although the pucks look awful, the performace of all three seems unaffected. BTW, the cream has "Lanotrate25," apparently a concentrated form of lanolin. (Perhaps one should call it "Williams Wool Fat.") Yeah, I'm an Alice fan. Any lurking disrupter is OK by me, just on general principles. If anyone's in contact with Danny in the Netherlands, please give him my best (and tell him I'm still subscribed). FWIW De Vergulde Hand is on E-Bay, and quite reasonably priced. On the net, the Dollar Platinum seems to be a little expensive, save in 200 lot purchases. This has me debating whether or not to give them a try. (Shaveabuck.com has them for U.S.$0.40 apiece, considerably more than the apparently 10p per cost of the 50 lot purchase. I also checked out the UK E-Bay link, and they're still pretty inexpensive compared to the U.S. E-Bay.) It would be interesting to learn how long the blade lasts. Anyway, I think I'll take your implicit suggestion, and go out and get some burgers. Best wishes.
Nice shave Paul. I've tried those Dollar blades a few times but I just find them far too tuggy. So they're at the back of the drawer for another day, when maybe my technique has improved somewhat! Keep the great videos rolling!
Cheers Craig 👍🏻
Thanks Craig, yes they may work in a razor at some point for you, worth keeping....many thanks again Craig :-)
Such an excellent soap this Paul, isn't it?? Glossy lather.
Dry post shave for me, but not a problem! I have tons of balms!
Nice shave Paul. I just bought a used slim line Gillettes (very good condition) for $77.00. Will have to wait to see the quality of it when I get it. Some of these NEW slim line Gillettes have sold for $350.00 on ebay! Too expensive for me. I still bid on new ones but wow are they expensive.
They get expensive don't they....sometimes you can get a bargain, right time, right place sort of thing....many thanks :-)
Great shave Paul and thank you for using the wet lather it was me who said
Hi Paul. Have you ever used the soaps of Scheermonnik? Also great Dutch shaving soaps.
Hi Rob, I have not used that one no...many thanks.
@@PaulHFilms If you like I could send you some Scheermonnik shaving soap.
I've recently acquired, via a great guy on a Forum, A gillette slim adjustable. It's fast becoming my favourite razor.
I really need to try some more 'soaps' rather than shaving creams.
Any suggestions for someone on a tight budget? (not parmolive though 😂)
One of my favourite Gillettes that, great razor. You may like the "Fine" range of soaps, about £10, I highly recommend Mitchell's Wool Fat soap too, good quality soap and price...Some good artisan soaps out there too...good luck Chris :-)
@@PaulHFilms
Aye...
My brother in law uses Mitchell's Woolfat. He loves it.
I'll have a look into the Fine soaps.
Thanks for the heads up.
great video as always i beter go through my soaps then i found a cream smelling odd but hey use it now as pre shave it was an after shave so at least to me its useable
Good idea, many thanks :-)
For me EJ and Astra blades is the best combo
Nice :-)
If someone told you that you only had a day to live what would your last shave be? Great shave by the way, I used suavecito eucalyptus and tea tree shave creme, fine stout shave brush, chubby razor from Manlystuff and aqua velva aftershave this morning. Hope all is well.
Gillette Slim Adjustable, Shulton Old Spice soap and aftershave, Personna Red Blade.....Semogue 830 brush, for old times sake :-)
I'd have to say we think a like. Have you ever heard of soap commander's endurance? It's their take on Shulton's old spice, it has a old spice type scent with a talc smell to it. It's a great combo that is the first old spice type shave soap that causes zero irritation for my sensitive skin.
WHAT!! No slice of beetroot on the burger? You philistine Mr. H! 8)
Hey mate, great shave, was flicking through your vintage vids, watched the creed aventus one. Would you do another one using Aventus?
I must get some more of the Aventus Tony, I never see it though, some one here whips it..lol....cheers :-)
@@PaulHFilms well they do aventus for women now mate! So you should be safe!
@@tonyjax8454 I'm never safe...lol ;-)
We have plenty of Dollor Platinum de blades here in Pakistan, imo these are made in Pakistan beside Treet.
Nice blades....many thanks :-)
Paul have you used a pearl open comb razor?
I don't think I have Neil
It's pretty aggressive, sort of like a RazoRock Jaws.
Don't forget the Hot Peppers on that burger Paul! LOL
Yes....lol.
I will have a gander at those dollar blades £4.99 for 50 is a bargain I ordered 100 Astra blades from Amazon a month ago so they are coming Friday with a free Arko shaving stick £7.41 they cost me it pays to buy in bulk that's if they suit me lol and if they do they will last me from a good wile, great video enjoyed it take care and have a great day 😀
They worked well for me in this razor Mark, always good to try, hope you enjoy the Astra blades and Arko....have a nice week, thank you :-)
GREAT SHAVE Paul but I am Famished now and want a Burger Lol.. I Bought another Puck of the DVH Soap a couple of years ago so it must still be available. I Have the Aftershave Balm too which is good..!! Off fo some Grub now ............
Thanks Chris, and sorry to make you hungry....lol..yes I see the soap is still available thankfully.... :-)
try a blade says these blades are made in India by vidyut a main manufacturer of super max blades
Ah, thanks for the information, must be SuperMax making them then
Always nice to see new blades being tested. I've enough blades to last me another lifetime. I'm always worried if I haven't used a shaving soap in a bit whether it has kept. You only know when you go to use it, of course.
Yes, not heard of them before Jill, seem good blades after the first run with them....have a nice week, thanks :-)
Another great video hope it’s not a MoMo challenge
Sorry probably a bit sick
Lol.....thanks John
I came hear the commentary from Alys..... :P
Ah yes, she says thank you ;-)
New blades dollar it seems
Yes, new to me too.....many thanks :-)
I didn't hear cheese on that burger....nearly fell over in agony
Lol....yes a good addition :-)
Good shave again, Paul, but you know the next step is for the government to issue laughing permits or licenses. Like gun permits, you need permission to laugh and they want to make sure you have your laughs properly locked up when not using them. 😂
I say, "**** 'em if they can't take a joke".
Still available here www.yourshaving.com/en/8-shaving-soaps#/manufacturer-de_vergulde_hand
Thank you
You making me hungry 😂
Sorry...lol :-)
Who the beep is Alice??? 😊
That's the one...lol
More blades? You better start shaving 3-4 times a week. LOL
I quite agree Patrick...lol.
Hello, Paul how are you, I have one Gillette black beauty vintage razor of my father, but I don't like that much as I always get some reapers or cuts with that but anyway that is a historical razor used by my father, hope you will review the Parker 94r razor some day, I want to send you photos of my collection of razors, if possible and convenient send me your whatsapp number I'm a regular watcher of your videos, and around two years ago started doing wet shaving after watching your videos, thanks before that I used to shave with electric or cartridge razors.
Hello Rajan, will most likely get a 94R at some point and will review it, I am not on whatsapp, but if your on facebook, you could send me them there....link is in the video description....many thanks for watching the videos :-)
