"De Vergulde Hand" is a traditional style shaving soap for providing slickness not pampering your skin ... lol ... I'm a shaver who uses a full post shave routine that includes balm, so I'm a fan of these "older" traditional shaving soaps. Take care and shave smoothly Johan!👍🤠
I was part of the first wave of "virtual employees" for my company about 20 years ago. Back then the technology made collaborating a challenge. Over the years it got easier and more people went home as well so it became more normal and accepted. I agree 100% that I was more productive at home than in the office. Too many distractions! Thanks for the video. I hope you have a pleasant day.
Having seen your previous "Verfulde Hand" video very recently, I think that your pronunciation has improved in the mean time 😄 About working from home, I fortunately can do the majority of my work from home, which saves enormously on travel time, leaving more time to enjoy for myself and my familiy per day. No problems going to the office, and when I do, I enjoy seeing my colleagues, but there needs to be a good (business) reason to do so, otherwise I tend to prefer to work from home. I haven't tried Vergulde Hand, but I suspect I'm too much into artisan soaps to be able to appreciate it. Maybe I'll give it a try some day, it is dirt cheap, so the financial risk is very limited.
your work from home observation is spot-on and identical to my situation. being able to work like this makes a huge difference. I’ve been fortunate in doing so for past 5 years. prefer artisan soaps to add additional nourishment 🖖🏻 regards dapper shaves
Nice shave Johan, it is surprising that no one has started to make straight razors in Sweden. Especially with the history and how well Swedes tend to do things. Have a great weekend. Very best regards Gordon 👍
Hi Gordon. Since Ralf Aust manages to sell very good razors made in Germany for a reasonably price, there should be a way in Sweden also. Enjoy the upcoming weekend my friend!
Nice shave Johan! I use a balm 95% of the time after shaving, and I always use moisturizer after washing my face before the shave. The moisturizer also softens my whiskers so the shave is more effective/comfortable, kinda like a preshave does 😄👍 Have a good one man! Steve
Nice shave ! It's a good idea to make a museum of cutlery and razors. If you will come to Montreal city ( maybe with Filslade ?), it would be great to discuss of it !
You're right, it's surprising that there isn't a Swedish SR maker anymore. Especially with all of the Swedish shaving enthusiasts you'd think one of them would approach a steel person and ask if they wanted to make razors!
I actually have a custom made 9/8" razor made by a hobbyist blacksmith. He only made 3 and they are very nice but his day-job became more busy so he stopped at 3. He said he would have to charge a small fortune for each razor to be able to make a living out of it.
Yes, I've got the guilded hand (two tubs and a stick, as a gift): cheap and cheerful; around €4 a tub (75g). It reminds me of Palmolive but somehow fresher. I also have its 1975 cousin: Kuidvat's Original Scheerzeep. Fresh, but a bit rounder and "spicier". The plastic tubs are identical, only the labels differ. BTW Kuidvat is a spelling mistake from [gun]powder keg [kruitvat] - it is a Dutch retail, pharmacy and drugstore chain.
@@Shave_n_Butcher It's not a spelling mistake. Byt if you change the d to a t it becomes kruitvat = krut-fat in Swedish (hyphen added for clarity), gunpowder barrel. Kaboom (shakalaka?)!

You and me both. Have a good one mister!

Thanks Eric. I would agree as long as one doesn't have children at home - those can be quite the distraction as well!
Great shave there Johan, I always moisturise after a shave, both head and face.
Keeps you fresh

I am glad I am improving - thanks for confirming that.
I am in the office about 3 days a week if I'm not travelling and that is quite perfect.

Top shave! That soap is on my wish list.
It's an ok soap but honestly, the only reason for buying it is that it is the oldest.

Hey Steve. I used to put moisturizing balm on the face before shaving and then forgot about it. It makes for a good shave, especially in winter.
thank you for clearing SSA up for me. I’ve seen one around, but it has the pitting at the edge. regards dapper shaves
I have one or two razors with pitting right on the edge, but they shave perfectly. I think I have been lucky.
Nice shave !

Thanks Benjamin. I used to visit Montreal every year on business but it has been a few years now. One of my favourites cities in the world.
Razor sounds great.
It's a keeper!
Nice shave as usual my friend.
👍👍
You rock bro,
Have a awesome day and take care.
🤘😃🤘
And the same to you!
top shave johan !! most time i use an aftershave and a balm
That's the way!

@@Shave_n_Butcher that makes sense given the economy of Sweden 🤓

That's a soap I have never heard of. Interesting that it's a spelling mistake - I guess they just said " What the heck, let's go with that".

Nice shave Johan! I agree with your comments and use a balm after every shave.
Thanks Chris
My dad used to always use this brand, I never liked the smell of it when I was a kid.
And the scent memory is strong
