This time I have a cover for you of a song that I've loved ever since I heard it in 2013. It's a genre that's seldom explored within the fandom but nevertheless an epic genre. This song took me a few weeks to figure out how I was going to go about piecing everything together, but once I figured out the logistics recording and mixing took two late nights. I hope you enjoy my take on this one, and if you haven't, be sure to check out the original!

I think, one of the things I appreciate most about being in a fandom is bearing witness to the questions we all ponder as the stories unfold. This particular song was inspired at the end of season 3 when Twilight became an Alicorn. Up to that point, we still wondered on the nature of Alicorns. Are they all like Luna and Celestia in that they age differently? If so wont Twilight then outlive her friends? We as a community held so many questions as to what seemed like a cruel and ironic fate. To be tasked with making friends, only to be rewarded with the guarantee that you will live long enough to forget them. What then does Twilight ponder as she travels through the millennia?
We at some point in our lives will come to struggle with our own memories. To recall past loved ones and their names or the sound of their voices. To outlive someone we care about, and to not want to let them go.
But then we have the Chant of Mirth to remind us that even though our loved ones may pass they all leave something behind to help us continue forward. We don't need to remember everything so long as recognize that we are all gifted with the blessings of having known one another. These blessings are what push us forward towards happiness.
Well done on the cover. This is one of my favorites.

I'm currently sitting here playing both your cover and the original song at the same time. Holy God, it sounds freaking divine. Especially towards the end. And to anyone else who wants to try this, have the original play two seconds behind this one. The audio is lined up pretty much perfectly once you do that.

This is in an excellent cover. Almost all of the covers I've heard either simplify the harmonies or they're just not hitting the notes - which just kills songs like this. Good job, dude.
With every new song, you continue to impress me! The harmonies on this were just spot on, and the overall vocals were incredible! I can't even tell you how much this sounds like the original! Amazing job, man! Bravo :D

I think she suits Twilight better than Chi-Chi - who has a lovely voice, but it's a little too high pitched for this song.

Actually, the genre is known as "Chant" music~ Hence the name being Chant of Immortality, in reference to the type of song it is =)
Though Choral and Chant are still quite similar, so it could accurately be called either in my opinion X3
