  • In this video, I show you how to remove the steering wheel in your OBS Ford. You'll need to remove the steering wheel for three reasons, A) to replace the steering wheel, B) replace a clock spring, and C) to swap cruise control to your truck. To do this you will need either a steering wheel puller or a 2 jaw gear puller to remove the steering wheel. I recommend buying both if you don’t know what your steering wheel needs.

    I always thread the bolt slightly in then hit the sides of the wheel towards the dash to break it loose, no broken nose and no puller. Puller definitely the safest way though I just don't like digging in the back of my toolbox to find it.

      To the best of you knowledge, do all the pulleys line up? If one sticks out further than the others that’s what typically causes this issue.

    Do you happen to know if the steering wheels mount up for the previous 2 generations I don’t care about the electrical parts I think it’s just the six bolt pattern but boy I’ll be mad if this 82 steering wheel doesn’t mount up

    • @TheMinuteMasters
      @TheMinuteMasters  Год назад

      I don’t know exactly but it’s just one large nut that holds the steering wheel on. I think it would be worth trying. If your stock steering wheel has an airbag and horns, you’ll need to eliminate the wiring.

      @@bryanmunoz5899 Gotcha. So I don’t have an exact method on how to do it. The basic principle is you have to identify what wires actually turn on your engine. Then you would splice in a toggle switch.
      I’ve never done it but I’d probably test each wire individually to see which ones will need to switch. I wish I could be of more help.
