I have been wanting to see someone do this, ever since I learned about the pods sold by Hyperlite Mountain Gear. Theirs are rounded across the two front corners and squared-off across the back, probably to match the shape of a framed backpack. Would love to see you do a version of this with the rounded front! Keep up the great videos! I recently bought the same sewing machine as yours, and as I'm learning to use it, your videos are inspiring me! Thanks!
I put the spec-sheet in the video itself, there you’ll find the exact measurements. You’ll see it’s an incredibly simple “pattern” to make any size, no generator needed honestly. You barely need pen and paper 😀 Let me know if you have any questions...
Quick question @zipworks , in the plans the back is 5” no seam allowance. The front 2 panels totals to 5.5” (4.25” + 1.25”) minus the 2 seams allowances (.25” + .25” = .5”) comes to 5 inches on the front panel in fabric. Does this not account for the added width (height of front panel) the zipper will introduce? Wouldn’t the front be taller than the back? Thanks.
Thanks! I put a screen-shoot of the spec sheet in the video itself, if you pause the video there you’ll see all the exact measurements I used. I’ll consider linking it in the description too in the future if I can figure out a good place to host them.
I noticed the specification sheet's materials list shows Gutermann Mara 70 thread, but it looks like you used 50 in the video, and you have linked out to 50. Does it matter much?
Nice catch! Not a huge difference between them, the 50 is slightly thicker. For what it's worth, I meant to use the Mara 70 for this project but you are right, sure looks like 50 :)
Very nice! I'm in the works of making a cube for my sleeping bag, to fit at the bottom of to soon-to-be UL backpack. Do you experience that the cube (box) "becomes round" when a sleeping bag is stored in it and tries to expand?
Definitely gonna try to sew it myself. Thanks for very clear instructions and for not wasting our time.

Can’t access the generator link. Is your website down or no longer provide them?
Amazing channel! Thanks for sharing this high-quality stuff! Regards from Costa Rica 🇨🇷!
I just made one! Coolest shit ever! Thanks for the video man
Nice!!
Thanks for the great vid! Assuming I can source the correct needles and thread, can I use an overlocker/serger for the joining?
Not sure, I guess you can try! Good luck
Looks awesome! Where can we find the pattern? Couldn't find it on your website. Should we generate it ourselves using the tool?

Did you figure the problem out? I was thinking the same.
These look great, got a link to the plans anywhere?

is the website still up?

Sure, I’ve experienced ’some’ rounding when really overstuffing the cube but not so much that it botheres me.
Would 0.34 oz Dyneema Composite Fabric be too light to construct the packing cubes from?
I wouldn’t use it, much too thin in my opinion!
Bonjour. En tant que débutante, c’est compliqué de vous suivre et de comprendre. Dommage. Peut être un autre jour. Kiss from France
What size sewing needles did you use? And what type of thread?
I used Gutermann Mara 70 with a 90/14 needle 🪡👍 (edited)
