Nice pickups, Chance. William the Flipper must be hooking you up. I had no idea that Cash album was pricey! I love Cash - his autobiography is a great read - but I'm surprised that an album of covers would fetch so much, ummm... cash. As far as higher-end wish list items go, lately I'm quicker to pull the trigger on items that have nearly disappeared from the (mostly) online marketplace. Latest one for me is the album 'Speed' by Crain, complete with poster and lyrics insert. The album just doesn't seem to be available anywhere anymore. Maybe one could get lucky in a shop in Louisville, but that's a bit outside my shopping radius 😆 Hope all is well!

Flipper who? 😂 Totally understand where you are coming from, and I find myself in a similar spot. I have 3-5 items that have been on my list with no end in sight - for years. I’ve accepted that once they pop up again I’ll have to buck up (within reason). The titles in this video pop up more frequently (when they do)….just at prices that haven’t been reasonable (ish). Patience is definitely a virtue, but for private press, limited run, regional artists, 90’s OGs, etc, those aren’t coming up as often as they did 5 years ago. Or other people are smarter than before (nahhhhhhh 😁).
Agree with you that no one really shows hip-hop & rap in the VC, at least in the circles I run in. Cool on the Mack 10. Megadeth album artwork was always cool. Congrats on your grail pick ups.

Congrats on knocking some big wants off the wants list Chance. Now does your collection feel anymore complete or your life more fulfilled....nope, I bet😁. But we all still continue to plough onto the next big want☺️. Regarding the old phrase 'you don't play the sleeve'. You don't but there's nothing worse than paying good money for something whilst not being totally satisfied with the sleeve then not long after you see another copy with a better sleeve for the same money, or worse cheaper! That's happened to me a few times recently and I'm talking 3 figure records..pah! Oh well, such is life. PS apologies for not commenting on your latest vids, watched them all but didn't get round to commenting...cheers Nige.
All good Nige! Always happy to hear from you. Though I hate hearing you got a bad experience on those (not cheap) records. I took a flyer not too long ago on a sealed Tribe Called Quest album that the seller was adamant was an OG; I could not find info on Discogs to the contrary so I bought it ($75). Get home, open it up, and not only isn’t it the OG (a modern reissue), but it was warped as well. Ugh. Still learning lessons after all these years! 🤦🏻♂️ Hope life is treating you well!

They are definitely out there, but the OG’s are popping up fewer and fewer. I’m enjoying this one immensely 🤘🏻
Very nice pickups Chance especially the Megadeth! I got one of my grails earlier this year Megadeth Countdown been on the hunt for years it’s a NM US OG I had to pay up for it but so glad to have it!

There is a saying in the restaurant industry, "you eat with your eyes." Presentation matters. So you may not play the jacket but the artwork/presentation is important, especially when you are charging a premium ($60) for it.
Exactly my point. Gotta make a change, mid release schedule? Bummer, but communicate it in advance. And my guess (speculation) is it’s probably a smidge cheaper to do matte over laminate. 🤔

Great PUs Buddie! Just ordered Black Crowes first record since missing in my record collection! Have Amorica on black vinyl and also have Core on black and red vinyl! All of them sound great so hopefully the new 1st BC album will sound great! I so far behind on my videos since I had an accident which took some of the wind out of my sails!

Pretty sure I’m the worst at that lol. Congrats on finding some grails. Imjust trying to find a record room! Love that Cash album, I bought the box set of their 4 albums. I also like OGs if I can get them and not have to get a bank loan

I admit, I watched the remake last night. Wasn’t as bad as I feared. As it’s own movie, it’s not a terrible watch.

That’s a good question. I don’t have the reissue to compare it to….but you’ve definitely piqued my curiosity. I’ll ask around and see if I can track one down on the fly 🤘🏻
To add, this OG sounds ok, but does need to be turned up and would benefit from more space to operate.
