- Been a long time since I hit the road, Buddies! Well, at least for the RECORD STORE ROAD TRIP series on the channel. Join me as I return to some stores in the Pacific Northwest in Seattle and Portland proper. Many, many records were close to jumping in my bags this trip, find out which ones made the cut!

Well DONE on that Smiths "Strangeways" ! That is a handsome looking Isaac. All the copies I find in the wild are VERY beat up. 👍👍👍
I knew you’d approve! Maybe I’ll just collect Smiths promos? 😎
Thanks Buddie, you're a f'n legend🤘
Takes one to know one Buddie! Appreciate your support, always 🤘🏻💪🏻
OGs are the way to go for me also. Anyone can buy a reissue but finding an OG in the wild is so much more fun. I rarely buy reissues. Some very nice pick ups!
Cheers☘️
That’s the piece I think is most overlooked - the patience/restraint involved waiting on that copy found in the wild. Discogs/online can be useful for sure, but like the reissue era upon us, it’s also like short cutting in a way. OG’s are my favorite letters of the vinyl alphabet 🤣. Great to hear from you as always sir!
Great pickups Chance! YEAH!! 🗣️
YEAH! 🤘🏻Thanks for hanging out on the channel!
so useful shots! 💪
Thank you 🙌
Great time meeting you both for the second time!
Definitely. Onto the next!
@@ConcertBuddie and that Beach Boys Love You is a hidden gem
You found some great music. It must have been a great trip. Awesome
A great trip indeed! Great music, great fellowship with other VC’ers, and great records. Fun weekend! Thanks for checking out this recap video!
Great video and pick ups, man! We should have got some video while you were here. Next time!
Yup! Totally missed the boat on that one. Great hang though 🤘🏻
You most definitely brought home more than one Jewel 💎. Coltrane’s Sound, one of my favorite Coltrane albums, was actually recorded in 1960 but not released until 1964 years after Coltrane left the label and signed with Impulse. It was also produced and released without Coltrane’s input or approval. I say they did a great job even without the blessing of the great one. The album has Steve Davis on Bass, a very underrated and overlooked artist. In 1960, Davis was briefly part of the John Coltrane Quartet, before being replaced temporarily by Reggie Workman and permanently by Jimmy Garrison. I went down a Steve Davis rabbit that led me to some amazing jazz recordings and new artists with whom Steve Davis record. Primus is crazy cool 😎
I knew you’d come correct with the Coltrane knowledge 🤘🏻 Appreciate that 411 Buddie! 🎷
@@ConcertBuddie oh I almost forgot. One of my favorite songs is The Night Has A Thousand Eyes. ✌🏽
cool stuff dude. maybe 10 yes ago i did a PacNW trip. Seattle, Portland, Crater Lake, Bodega Bay, San Francisco (F the 49ers.) I bought so many records on that journey I had to mail a bunch of them home. I need to revisit. Some cool shops here. I wish I could remember some of the shops I hit up. I bet a handful aren’t around anymore. Stax is a cool place to visit. Shame the actual place was torn down.
You know it’s a great buying trip when you gotta mail things back! Motown deserves it’s flowers, but so does Stax, Sussex, and so many others lost to time. Great to hear from you Steve!
Wow I had like a disclaimer come up to write a comment. Didn’t even know those things existed. Always great to see a video from you. Quite the road trips and yes you are nuts but I get the OGs, I seek them out also and spend too much on them
The expensive OGs might just be worth the squeeze. Especially as these reissues start at $30, $40, now $50. Remember that bald lady from the info-mercials back in the day that opined “STOP THE INSANITY”? That’s how I feel on reissues these days. Have a great week Steve! Owe you a comment on your latest vid - I heard classical and I had a moment 🤣
Great pickups!
Thanks man! Happy Dad’s Day to you!
Great stuff man. I need that hot buttered soul!
Glad it was a great trip. Come further north next time 😏
Next time, I'll cross the border. Fo sho
Could have sworn that ending tune was “I Could Be Happy” by Altered Images, uncanny resemblance. Nice scores, that Cure Kiss Me x 3 is on my wantlist. Hope you’re feeling better, Chance. Cheers!
Interesting. Yeah, just grabbed it from the Google/license free library. That Cure record was priced to move; jacket has seen better days but the vinyl was VG+ and plays great. Feeling better today, thank you sir! 🙌🏻
What a diverse selection of albums. I saw Primus opening up for Slayer - what a weird band 😅. It was great meeting you at Harry’s and Mazzy’s and and the Dada show. Hope your son enjoys the Slayer record
He LOVED it, thank you so much! And yes, a real pleasure to meet you and chat in person! 🤘🏻🔥
Nice variety of stuff. Honestly though I think that Beach Boys was the most surprising to me and I think because it’s one I see in the cheap bins here all the time so I pay it no attention and it is a record that basically doesn’t get much attention. Lately though I have been going back and checking out those albums of theirs from the 70s though so I’ll have to take another look at that one! Sounds like you guys had an awesome trip though!
Thanks Buddie! Stream that Beach Boys and let me know what you think! I’d bet I passed over it many times over the years, but like anything else, once you start seriously looking for it, it dries up like the Mojave desert! Have a great week ahead K!
Great finally meeting you at Harry Fest! Just an amazing get together Harry produced. Glad your trip was a success!
Such a pleasure to meet you and your daughter T! Hope to cross paths again sooner than later✌🏻
Damn! Pearl Jam is not coming anywhere close to Atlanta on this current tour, maybe they will extend it to the Southeast when they get back from overseas.
Sweet Pork Soda and Hot Buttered Soul. Too bad on the Jewel pressing.
Sounds like you had a good time with some great people. Sorry you got sick. Traveling on top of getting sick blows.
Jason did a goos job with Surface Noise.
Thanks man! I lost my voice a bit from the PJ show (shocker), and it’s lingered all week. But this vinyl gold has helped get me back to health quicker 😂. I’d bet there will be multiple legs of this tour. Hope ATL gets a future date!
And thanks for watching some SN in my absence. 😁
By the Seattle Troll is the Fremont neighborhood
My man! Coming correct. 💪🏻 Thanks T!
You as well
Am I mentioned in this video?
No. You don't need to watch. Thanks.
Jealous!
Awesome finds. That Tom Petty record! ♥️🔥♥️ I wish I could have been in Seattle too. Take care.
The TP is one of the oldest tenured records on my Discogs list. So happy to check it off the list after all these years! Hope you had a terrific bday weekend 🎂
So where do you think I stole the Mazzy Loves You thing ? I remember not selling many copies of that record back in 77. 😎😵💫🤠
🤯🤯 I feel like I just learned about Christmas, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy all at once 🤯🤯
Glad you had a great trip, I was in Seattle years ago. Funny I was on Rachel's today and mentioned Beach Boys Love You.
Must be in the air lately! Always great to hear from you sir! 😁
