I used to wonder why people would be so hard on Opie. That was before I listened very heavily. Opie is so unfunny that even if he has a good line his delivery ruins it. He is just awful. If the roles were reversed and Ant was on the radio first, he wouldnt have given Opie a job. Not only is Opie not funny but hes also pop-culture stupid as well. He offers very little to the show. He should be a producer and keep his voice off the air.
Its mainly since he's so insecure so he has no confidence in the delivery. Ant usually does well kus even if he bombs he shrugs it off, kus he knows it happens to everyone.
I have been waiting for this clip for so long, one of the best non-Patrice pieces ever. :)

He really out did himself in this clip. Its incredible that he blamed the guys for not laughing at his jokes intentionally, instead of realizing not everyone is capable of making people sincerely laugh. Being funny isn't some easy thing anyone can pick up. If I bombed that many times, I would have been uncomfortable and stopped.
