Sorry but I'm from Chicago and I have a hard time even believing that caller was black. Something about his entitled North Shore accent makes me think he was just a White Knighting leftist who really wanted to put Ant in his place on behalf of those poor black souls he sees everyday when he's walking to his job in the Financial District. Even the black guys who grew up not speaking slang don't have this guy's valley boy accent. The fact that he wouldn't give his exact age clinches it. He was trying to claim to be the demographic that you hear about on the news. So he says he's a young black male under 25. This way he can claim to know about what it's like to be a statistic in Chicago. Also, most black people in Chicago don't like their city being called Chiraq. Spike Lee's movie got a lot of heat around here for its title. It's very sad that this caller felt that saying he was black would lend his argument credibility. Must not know the show very well. I had an discussion with a black dude I worked with about saying the N-Word. I asked him "If I'm talking about a song or, say, a Richard Prior album, can a white dude say the N-word without getting an ass kicking?" And the black dude said, for him personally, it's all about context.
When I was in high school, Chappelle Show had just come out, and every white kid was quoting that show. In that context, it wouldn't deserve an ass kicking.
This is why I just avoid black people in general. I don’t feel like hanging around people who are offended by words widely used in culture that everyone is allowed to say publicly that isn’t asian or white. Ironically a word created by white people.
