As a slide owner I'm really happy with the versatility that this truck offers. Loose for pumping and cruising, tight for pumptracks and more control at higher speeds. Really perfect in that aspect, it's the only truck that can give you this. Thank you for the video !
I bought a Sway Surfskate recently and couldn't figure out which kind of truck it was. Until I saw your video and realized the spring and adjustment is exactly like the Slide Surfskate. I thought something was wrong with me for wanting my trucks very loose for the carves, but watching your video gave me assurance on it :D :D thank you

no it doesnt its just to hold the pin into the spring i would leave it but if it comes loose i would try to not over tightening it as if u strip it you will brake the truck
I have this truck from buying the slide after your review adoringly calling it a Honda. I love it as it kinda doubles up as a cruiser / surf skate !but pumping uphill kinda sucks
hey so….i freeskate, surf, and snowboard. can you explain exactly what you mean by them being flush? i just bought a slide and i’m afraid to ride it with it too loose OR too tight you know? i feel like id want it as loose as it can be so far from how i’ve been riding it i always feel i wanna go looser but i’m afraid i’m gonna screw it up lol the boards i ride don’t have these lol😅 thanks!

I have tried tight, loose and everything in between. If you are heavy like me, you might find it more comfortable for long cruising when tightened a little bit. Moreover, I noticed I could pump better uphills and it is more stable going downhill at higher speed. Anyway I always keep a wrench with me when riding
Did you find you needed to loosen the main bolt (not the spring bolt) that holds the truck on? The reason I ask is I just received a Slide Diamond Carvin and find it doesn't really spring back to center at all when I'm manipulating it by hand. I found one Reddit post discussing loosening this bolt, but I was curious what your experience is. Thanks!
Just to kind of answer my own question, I loosened that bolt about a quarter turn and am now seeing some snap back to center. Would still be curious about your experience.
Hi Steve, accoring to my experience you can keep the slide on a much more looser setting (50% less than flush with the screw) and that gives you a so much wider range of motion, quite similar to a yow truck. I am riding this super loose slide setup for more than one year and I never had an issue with loosing my nut. But of course you are loosing a lot of rebound which slide is well known for :-).
Just bought a slide. I have a normal longboard as well. If I with the slide use one foot to step (as on a normal longboard) it's too loose (so I tightened it, maybe to much and is like a longboard now). What's is the idea of a surf skate, always pump to make speed?

Hm, it seems, that the bushing on the front truck of my slide is a lot smaler. (like its squeezed a lot) I dont know how it affects my board, maybe its more loose with that. its brand new, so i realy asking myself, if thats how its supposed to be. Even with your overtighten setting the bushing is wider than mine i think. But is the bushing there so important? (as long it doesnt break)

I don’t know if it’s possible, but I do know that others would be way better for it. To me the thing I like the least about the Slide truck is that it’s hard to start out. So when you do stuff like that, it stalls out in you.

Should the center nut on a slide be tight? And does that affect the truck/ride at all?

also you will know if its over tightened because it will make a audible clicking sound

Yes, I ride it as loosely as possible. And it doesn't have much rebound back to center.

No, the Slide front doesn't have a pivot cup.

With what you're describing, it seems to me that you just have it too tight. But I'd have to see it to know for sure.

Carver c5 for me is the lowest to the ground. I changed the bushings to orangatangs purple and pumps like the c7,ollies like a regular board.
just got my slide 30", is it normal for the trucks to not return to center? or am i not adjusting something right

That's just tightening or loosening the kingpin nut according to your preference. I personally run all my rear trucks as loose as possible.
