That looks a killer coffee cup. Could be my next project. How does it stand up to heat and cooling over time.

Apologies if I missed it somewhere, but what wood did you use and what food safe finish did you use for the inside of the cup? Thanks

I’m not sure that I mentioned it ! That was a branch from a pin oak tree from my parents front yard. The food safe finish is marketed by the name tried and true. It’s a mixture of wax and linseed oil (not boiled) and bees wax. It gets burnished causing friction and heat closing up the pores of the wood

Does the finish leave any aftertaste? (Dont want to spoil the taste if the coffee)😂

Only the first cup I could taste the bees wax after that it was fine. I love a good coffee so I completely understand. If you don’t mind throwing out the first cup of boiled water you should be fine
