For landing more tarpon, some tips are: loosen your drag, bow your rod on the jumps, replace the trebs with singles, use mono leader not flouro (for a little bit of stretch). ive been tarpon fishing for years and wish i knew all of this when I started out.

I gotta say, of the many fishing channels I watch on RUclips, you and John Skinner are the two most passionate and obsessive anglers. You both seem to capture the mind of an angler. I feel like I'm actually fishing when I watch you guys. Good job.

Thank you for this. I went to saint Maartin and the fish in that canal have tripled in size. After three days and plenty of break-offs and lures spit back at me, along with three trips to the tackle shops, I finally caught and landed a tarpon about 25-30 lbs. It took a bucktail! Never was able to hook one on a treble hook. I wanted to post a picture but could not figure it out!

You might try changing the trebles to some inline single hooks. You can put some pretty good size single hooks on that yo-zuri. I realise you just can't walk into a tackle shop and pick them up but when you get back home look into that. Rapala makes some great looking suspending lures that come with the single hooks.
