      Most of the terror groups that tier one has engaged in the last 20 to 30 years have been ideological religious zealots that are extreme in their beliefs the cartel does not have that their motivated by money. Their motivation will evaporate when their friends start to disappear in night time raids

      The military couldn't beat mountain goat herders in 20 years.
      If you misgender them they will stop and cry.
      Plus if they hide in a civilian population you will want to quit as soon as one person gets killed.

      Your intentions are in the right place, but your logic is confusing and can lead to error.
      Men wear different hats, some are engineers, others are fighting grunts, others fight with the intellectual knowledge, some invoke God’s intercession with prayer, etc….
      It takes a united front to fend off evil. But people look through their myopic lens of themselves and their calling, and use it as a litmus test to judge others bravery.
      Fending off evil simply starts by letting God prioritize your heart, the grace of God will always lead you and you must be brave to adhere of how God directs you to act.

    I live in South Texas. I remember traveling along the border seeing an onion farmer's field between two towns. Recently a friend of mine who lives in a little town further south from my town told me the farmer was threatened by a cartel and he had to shut his farm down. They wanted a cut of his profits and the farmer just folded. These assholes somehow found a way across the border and felt they could threaten an American farmer. I couldn't help being absolutely angry about this. Now I hope this is true so that onion farmer can have his life back.

      This reminds me of the build-up to the invasion of Iraq. Most of my friends and relatives were gung-ho for it and were indignant when I said it was a bad idea. As of course it was. But whether this is a good idea or not, the people who are beating the drums need to answer some questions. First, does this not entail invading Mexico? In hot pursuit if nothing else? Second, we going to use the military against the domestic street gangs that sell the drugs? Third, are we prepared for terroristic retaliations against civilians here and elsewhere? Fourth, are we willing to acknowledge that the cartels exist because Americans have consumed illegal and addictive drugs ravenously for generations? Fifth, do these chest beaters know what victory will look like, or are they going to get us sucked into yet another quagmire without an exit strategy? They remind me of the Confederates who were spoiling to fight at the beginning of Gone With The Wind, and I feel like Clark Gable telling them what fools they are.

      This is not a job for the conventional military. The approach needs to be holistic and must include the Mexican government and numerous US agencies working together. This is a job for JSOC, and most collection and targeting should be done covertly. The SMU operator (DEVGRU, Delta, and another unit) is trained just for this. JSOC has a lightning quick ‘intelligence cycle’ and tons of experience targeting and eliminating networks. The intel cycle is the process from creating an intelligence requirement, to tasking collection assets, to analysis and dissemination of actionable intelligence. JSOC has this down to hours, and to compare the conventional military could take weeks (a lot of red tape). Because of the corruption in the Mexican government, all operations should be compartmentalized with heavy emphasis on political deception.

    • @Brandi-w5i
      @Brandi-w5i 19 часов назад

      1. Develop intelligence requirements, task collection assets (HUMINT, IMINT, and SIGINT). SIGINT- in particular cell phone targeting is critical. Be patient and develop a good "picture" of the relationships between the key actors (Eigen vector) such as leaders, money movers, gun runners, etc.
      2. Then go after the top dogs and key players using all US ISR capabilities and certain weapon systems like AC-130 gunships, Laser guided bombs, etc.. Obviously, these kinds of weapons would be limited to mostly rural areas. The urban hits will be done by covert SMU operators who train daily to do just that. simultaneously Green Beret teams can train local "capacity" paid hit teams, and we can also use one cartel against the other. Certain hits have to be coordinated with the Mexicans like dropping a 500 pounder on to a hacienda on the outskirts of town. Also, there are darker way of doing business with complete deniability.

    • @Brandi-w5i
      @Brandi-w5i 19 часов назад +1

      @ By the way, our nation’s ONLY standing Counter Terrorist Task Force is JSOC, and JSOC units (DEVGRU, CAG, and IA) are the ONLY Tier-1 units, aka National Command Authority units. Everyone else is Tier-2 (white side seals, Green Berets, rangers, MARSOC)-Tier-2 units are SOCOM units.
