      Why? They ALL are complicit. Who is asking for repeal of the Prohibition laws? Any Mexican who supports Prohibition Law is not innocent. Without Prohibition the cartels go broke. Dr. Lonny Shavelson in his book "Hooked" said that 70% of female heroin addicts had been sexually abused in childhood. We are making war on abused children.
      Trump said at a Miami Herald 1990 Awards luncheon "Legalize". I'm with him.

      Neither country wants the cartels eliminated. If they did you cannot tell me that some basic reconnaissance ( they aren't exactly hiding the fentanyl pill manufacturing facilities alone MUST be GIGANTIC buildings to produce the amount of pills we see in the usa . ) a couple dozen tomahawk missiles could completely destroy the cartels in a matter of DAYS.
      This isn't about drugs it's about money and how each country benefits from the cartel. It sickens me to hear the president of Mexico pretend as if they cannot defeat a few gangs. . That is beyond preposterous. The Mexican army alone has 261,000 armed personnel . . The cartels combined may have 10,000 -30,000. . This is a farce because they could get whatever number AMERICAN soldiers required with a phone call . That call will never happen because Drugs are the largest part of Mexico's GDP and American bankers love LAUNDERING that untraceable cold hard cash . Money laundering is an extremely profitable business. Basically someone gives 100$ dirty bills and you give them 5$ in clean cash . At one point in the 80's at the height of the cocaine "epidemic the exchange rate was 1 clean dollar 100 dirty ones . That is how much drug money was stacked away in Miami . But it was useless so they were basically giving it away

    As someone who lives in Culiacan, it is horrible, we spent almost two months taking classes at home as if we were back in the pandemic, and even when the government wants us to think we’ve already gone back to a certain sense or normalcy, it’s impossible to ignore everything we hear and see. I really hope everything goes back to normal as soon as possible, because this war has already gone on for way too long, 4 months is too long, too much.

    I'm a Mexican Criminology student; as far as recent events go we've gotten to see how within the Sinaloa cartel these 2 factions have gotten allegiances with different cartels such as the Chapitos joining forces with the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación through El Jardinero, sent by the H8 which was the I think current right hand for el Mencho. Although the CJNG currently also has internal conflicts as far as we know, related to a succession due to el Mencho's illness, there's no real confirmation on this as far as we've seen, we've just read about it but yeah, I personally haven't looked too deep into that. But yeah, most of the governors are in bed with the respective cartels. The two major ones in Mexico are the CDS and CJNG but even their own members get out of line and have the main body send sicarios to purge, such was the case of El 20 and his accomplices in el Estado de México because of not following the cartel's rules. But yeah, lots of issues.

    • @bluemarlin8138
      @bluemarlin8138 2 месяца назад +8

      True. The reason why it’s so hard to beat the cartels is most likely that the Mexican military is actually trying to avoid civilian casualties, while the cartels just don’t care. And it’s not as if the cartel members are wearing uniforms, so they can blend in. That puts the Mexican army at a big disadvantage, even though it’s a far superior fighting force in a straight-up battle. That said, the Mexican army having a lot more manpower and funding would greatly help matters. It is very sad to see Mexico like this. I used to visit a lot in the early-mid 90s before the violence got out of control, and Mexicans are wonderful people overall.

    I wish the United States would declare all of the Mexican cartels a terrorist organization; this way, they could gain broader legal authority to handle all these cartel groups both domestically and internationally.
    I'm Mexican-American, and I hate all that damage they are doing to Mexico and our American border.
    I've been to Mexico so many times and I never really felt in danger, but I always knew that anything could happen at any moment. Everyone seems like a normal person until you find out what they are involved in or who that person knows.
    Edited to include:
    The brutality these cartels display-such as hanging victims from bridges or killing innocent people-is often retaliation against the government for arresting or killing cartel members. For example, when the military detained El Chapo’s son a few years ago, chaos erupted. Cartel members armed with heavy weaponry and trucks mounted with machine guns overwhelmed the city. Within hours, the military was forced to release El Chapo’s son to stop the violence. The situation was so intense that they essentially had to negotiate a ceasefire.
    The cartels know that by targeting cities and endangering innocent people, they can pressure the government into backing down to protect citizens. It’s a tragic double-edged sword

I am proud to have them alongside of us in this fight as there are many good people from Mexico and South American countries realize in that we all live under one roof and that roof is held up by all of us joining together to fight the evil and the people that don’t represent our values. If the US unleashes on the cartels like we are capable of, they will be gone in a matter of 2 months. Many of them are delusional to our capabilities due to America’s negligence and lack of upholding Our real laws due to corrupt politicians and law enforcement accepting their bribes. Once people go in that don’t care about any of those things, it will be quick and effective.

    Forcing the Cartel to spend money fighting a war instead of shipping its drugs to make money is a strategy that eventually will work but could cost countless lives. It has to be a united effort though eventually they will run out of money.

      Idk they have a infinite money glitch. As long as there is demand. They will have the supply.

      @@marcspence1905 Right. The will to continue the fight against the cartels LONG before they come even close to running out of money. Even if somehow you're able to stop the supply of all incoming cash shipments to the cartels, which would be practically impossible, they still have literal mountains of cash, to the point that storing the amounts of cash is troublesome. Pablo Escobar is said to have buried/hidden literal fortunes of currency in various locations, you know, just in case.

      @@southtxgunner2388 It would take eradication and the playbook of El Salvador and the Philippines. Its possible but the conflict down there is allowed to continue. Too much money involved and to have a long bloody war is not feasible for the U.S. So small tactical wins to disrupt them is green lighted. Its a vicious cycle how drugs are circulated even after a bust, our own recirculates and thus a never ending war.
