One thing you need to address in this video is the actual overview of the process. The reason I came here to look at your video is I am wanting to know if this manager forces you to install the downloads on the same computer you do the downloads on. I prefer to keep my DAW offline, to prevent problems and so previous versions of Cubase allowed me to download the media, transfer it to the DAW and install it there. It would be good to know if this process has changed.

oh lunatik, I am so sorry to hear that, there may be a way to do it yourself, but I recommend going to this Steinberg support site helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-us/articles/206709210, and open a ticket, there are also chat options for certain times of the day, I wish you the best of luck with that... andrew.

i just got the version 12 and it just stops downloading. i have a 2021 macbook running 13.5.1 with 32 GB. this huge list of tools that downloads just stops and it says it cant download. i think its a bug with the load process but i dont know any work arounds .. can you help please ?

Is it ok to use the cog wheel in the library manager to route my libraries to an external hard drive?
I can get cubase pro 12 on my computer Idk if I can get all the libraries in it without it crapping out. Sorry if its obvious, but im a brand new cubase user.
hi mr A, thanks for your question, if your talking about all that extra content that comes with Cubase, yes it can be routed to external hard drives, however I have found through personal experience its better to let all the content install in its defaults first and then move it after a successful installation. Maybe you could move some other things off temporarily till you get everything up and running. All the best.. andrew

Hello. It still doesn't work. I moved everything via library manager with the "move" button for each of the content libraries, it now shows my new path, but when I open cubase, it shows everything I moved as "not found". Im wondering if I must tell cubase where to look for them, but I wouldn't know where to even start with that.
If anyone knows how to do this, please explain. Thank you.
@@Mr_A_Mia Hi Mr. A, so sorry for your continued issues, theres nothing worse, and I've been there many times. 1st if you havent done so already go to forums.steinberg.net/ set up your account and post your question, they are pretty good at responding, tell them your story. and 2nd, if I had to guess, I'm thinking cubase is seeing your initial installation still, now I'm not telling you or advising you, but if it were me, I would probably, (after submitting on the Steinberg help site), do a uninstall/ reinstall thing to see if I could remove the previous associations, I might even go so far as re downloading the initial files in the Steinberg downloader, but again, thats just me. hoping for a resolution for you ... andrew

Hi, you clearly have been lucky, because my update to Cubase pro 12 has left me with a lot of missing vsts instruments, even though all the plugin paths etc were correct in the plugin manager!! With the way things stand at the moment, my current projects have ground to a halt!!!!! Not happy at all!!!!!!!

Great content! Just want to ask, when upgrading to Cubase 12, do you have to download all that content from the download assistant under cubase 12? Is this the protocol every time a new version of cubase comes out, to download everything again under the new version? It will keep messing with the hard drive space will it not each time? Keep up the good work on your channel!!
Hi Kyri, thank you so much for your comment, it means a lot. I'm going to go out on a limb and say, typically when installing a Steinberg product it looks at what you have, and if its there it says something like already installed and just ignores it, on the other hand when downloading the stuff should you download it all, speaking for myself , I always do, then I let the program sort out what it needs and doesn't need. If I have to move or delete the install files later or afterward, so be it.. I have found this to be the least problematic way to do it...all the best...andrew

cubase 12 is running fine after installation , but i cannot find the contents of groove agents and halion sonic se .. whatever i try , nothing works .. please provide a solution .. Thanks..
hi Sayan, thanks for reaching out. For specific help with Steinberg products you are going to want to go here forums.steinberg.net/ and post your question. That being said, the first thing that comes to mind is if you changed any file locations on installation from their defaults, I would re install using only default settings, you can change locations later. hi Christian, thanks for your question, so truth be told, I dont think I've ever had a time where I havent had cubase crash with regularity. That being said, my computer could use an upgrade in general, so I dont know how much I can really blame on cubase or rather on my computer. All in all, no crashes are so bad that my workflow is seriously hampered. A simple restart and off I go again. I think cubase is an amazing program so just like any relationship, I'm willing to deal with the non perfections. andrew
do you get more stuff if you remain connected to the cubase network?

Andrew I upgraded to Cubase 12 but it freezes, when it’s loading, when the video plug-in is loading. So I can’t get it to run on my Windows 10 laptop!

hi 146 truthstreet, thanks for stopping by. After you install cubase look at the library manager, (I talk about that in this video) and scroll to Verve, it has a couple of tabs, one is details, that shows what drive it is currently on, then theres another tab, "move" that allows you to transfer the files to a different drive. I'll put the topic of using the library on my list of how to videos for the future...all the best...andrew
Uh... so what's going on with mine? Mine all downloaded and turned green instantly but... nothing is installed at all. What the hell? I already have Cubase 11 Pro and this was an upgrade. I don't understand why Cubase 12 did not actually install...
hi Steven, so sorry to hear about your issue. Of course I am not affiliated with Steinberg in any way so you would want to contact them with any support related issues directly. But if I had to guess, based on the fact you had cubase 11, I would say the downloader is somehow seeing some previous version and thinking its already installed. I'm sure Steinberg support can walk you through trouble shooting that. best of luck .. andrew
@@TheDigitalAudioManual It turns out Cubase 12 did install there's just no visual indication and no desktop shortcuts created. When I searched my C:\Programs folder I found it and when I started it, it ran successfully. This just highlights how bad and confusing their Download Manager is; at least when you already have a product installed. Maybe I should make a video myself when I install it on my Laptop; I just doubt anyone would find it on my hokey channel.

How long did it take to download all?
hi Das, to be honest that's something I don't completely remember, I have a reasonable internet speed, so it wasn't like all day and all night, but its not just 10 mins either.

@@dassolosyndikat5113 oh my Das, that is a bit extreme, I feel for you. I can add that it is also affected by things like traffic, time of day ect. And sometimes the Steinberg site itself my be having some maintenance ect. One way or the other you will get it, hang in there... andrew
@@TheDigitalAudioManual I'm at the highest point in the building and the internet doesn't work that well in my room. Can i stop the download, shut my pc down and take it to a better spot where the internet works fast and continue the downloads there?

HMM WELL I DOWNLOADED THE TRAIL VERSION BUT KEEPS SAYING ERROR, NOW IVE PUSHED DOWNLOAD ALL AND ALL SAY LAUNCHING BUT NOTHING EVER HAPPENS HAVE TO CALL STEINBERG DIRECT I GUESS

What I got from this 13 minute video is that don't freak out if you hit install and something is off because it install fine at least for. him. it. did. 13 minutes I will never get back.
