You are like a mad scientist Wally. You explore where others may fear to go. Keep experimenting that's where all the fun is isn't it.? It's great to learn from people like you who make learning fun, Rock On!:)
Engine placement looks good! I do think that it would behoove you to make the cab tilt. You just never know what you're gonna have to access on an engine?! Looking good!
Well, like we said, when doing the modifications on the carpet looms. "We know what not to do next time". LOL! I like it! That's smooth, man! Cheers Terry
Well my friend best thing about it you’re having a good time ,I love to do projects When I was young like you brother .But now I can’t work anymore but ,I sure enjoy watching you do your thing bro, have a blessed day my brother.
Lordy Wal, you do like making work for yourself, but you done the right thing getting the engine under the cab, will make the back much tidier. Really enjoying the journey.
Your a thinker wally in turning things around to the good your a awesome worker and do great work don't let anyone disappoint you in what they say do you're thing 😊
Damn that worked out way better than I expected. Looks like she’ll be a pain to service but it’s a true COE again. Looks great and your motor and trans mount look like the way to go.
Happy to see this, going to be better. I think the new position is GREAT and as you mentioned makes the bed so much better too. I can relate on the overthinking, but it's a process.
I’ve been watching this thing since you started it and I’m loving your content so much so that I’ve gone back and watched some of your earlier work. I’m hooked you could say, just keep doing what you’re doing I’m loving it.
Watching your vid made me wonder why I don't make them myself, I'm always having the same conversations when I'm alone working on stuff the same as you! Lol
Ugh- I'm the same way. I get a big overall idea for a project in my head, but as a project progresses, it also evolves. It's why my projects always take longer than I initially planned... Glad I'm not the only one.
Hi Wally, Never mind what people think, Your havein fun, I,m havin fun and most of the people here are havin fun,Your Doin a great job, And sometimes, plan,s change, Keep up the good work, Lov your Videos.
Wally, u had me bitting my nails watching u moved the motor/trans forewards. Looks great , No time crunch when it will be done. might want to invest in some knee pads..
Awesome ! Everybody here thinks you’ve done all of it just right. It’s very similar to one we did and ours was easy to tilt the seat. The best thing is you now can do a standard looking steel frame flat bed with pockets and removable side boards to keep as much of the outside appearance as stock as possible, and that would really be cool ! Good job !
A suggestion, build your engine cover with the sides and front attached. It will give you better access to the engine once the seat is out. Reinforce the back of the cab with tubing, short vertical pieces and a tube across, then weld to your cab rear sheet metal. .
if you use the steel carbide metal cutting wheels they are much safer they don't chunk out you don't get covered in dust and you don't breath in all of the dust. Yes they cost more but they last way longer. I switched years ago and I will never go back
Looks great. I like the engine under the cab. I would think about putting a drip rail or something on the back of the cab so the water won’t run right down in the distributor. Can’t wait to see this finished.
Motor under the cab is way more cool and worth the effort in my opinion. We both build things the same way, start doing something and change the direction if it makes the project better. When I have completely redone something, I just figure it is improving my skills, the time and effort just makes a guy a better fabricator.
Looking hood! You could cut the snorkel off the air cleaner, flip it over and put it out the back to the transmission and it should pull fresh air from where the back of the cab is cut out
* EXCELLENT CHOICE *... .. Sometimes.?? Held up parts ??? can be a Great Thing !!! I like this SOOOOOOOOOO Much better... and you're right.. NOW !! It's a COE !!! This is going to be GREAT..... and Yes .. I also have A.D.D. AND * OLD *... Well Done.. Way to get it done .. KEEP WORKIN WALLY !!!
Changing plans is a good step towards better designs.......and.... ....if you ever scratch your head about something.....just check the owner's manual.
At Moparfest (New Hamburg Ont CDN) last year the sweetest COE had a custom tilt. I can't imagine the hours it took but the guy had a 12V Cummins under the cab and said it was well worth the trouble. He also had to have shown it to a dozen people the tilt in action in 90 minutes!!
Love it Wally you are doing like all of us, mistakes and all then restarting all again Better than them High End builds where a bunch of mechanics do it then the celeb comes on and "Says look what I done"
I think that moving the engine forward was a smart idea. Should improve the weight and balance on the suspension as having the engine were you initially put it was almost the center of the truck between the axles and having some weight on the front end is, in my mind, good idea.
Hi Wally, Really enjoying your video's on this build. You cant beat modifying a modification. 😂. Engine does look better there , more original look too. Keep the videos coming, stay safe. Dave....Norwich. UK.
Wally, love what your doing, great project. However can i say, don't forget that you will lose clearance under the engine lid when you fit the soundproofing and insulation! Can i suggest that you fit an angled intake to the top of the carb and then route the air intake pipe to a filter fitted on the exterior back wall of the cab? This will also save the high induction noise of the aircleaner inside the cab?🤔😉
Once you, I'd get me to see the narrow. Get work on a new - Get a new set of LAD light. S get a nice CD player, put in and get me a nice newspaper. Column this easy and get on automatic shifter. You know, thank you. But you're doing a good job to it and some LAD lights to an answer. My so foul likes to let me know.
Just dont forget to consider what it will take to change an alternator, or a/c compressor, belt. Stuff like that. It looks tight to me. However i have a hard time seeing what is 3feet in front of me, let alone 2000 miles across country. You are fun to watch.😊
I think you should make the cab tilt forward for accessibility. Even if the seat tilts forward it's going to be a pain to do maintenance. Keep it as easy to work on as possible. ❤ The channel!
"If it's worth doing, it's worth doing it twice." HOME BUILT BY JEFF 2022
Keep the faith sir.
Jeff is great!
Much better Wally!
Your truck, your design, have fun and do what you want. Tilt cab would be cool.
"Let the painter, paint!" Cab tilt, cab tilt, cab tilt...
Hey Wally, Your engine relocation works for me, but the most important thing here is that it works for YOU!
It does, once I saw it behind the cab I really didn’t like it.
Wally you are awesome and so happy with the engine placement. Keep on wrenching and be safe Take care.
We like your unpredictability, Wally!! Keep at it!
being nuts is half the fun and being nuts makes the greatest projects.
I think you did the right thing. No looking back and thinking, "I should have moved it". The placement looks awesome, best build on RUclips.
Thanks.
You are like a mad scientist Wally. You explore where others may fear to go. Keep experimenting that's where all the fun is isn't it.? It's great to learn from people like you who make learning fun, Rock On!:)
Holy cow Wally your mind is working non stop .This change will improve cooling hookup to radiator.Anyway another great show thank you
Much better! Looking good.
Definitely looks a lot better 👍👌
Engine placement looks good! I do think that it would behoove you to make the cab tilt. You just never know what you're gonna have to access on an engine?!
Looking good!
Looks MUCH better under the cab !!!!
I like it can't wait for the sleeper
Well, like we said, when doing the modifications on the carpet looms.
"We know what not to do next time".
LOL!
I like it!
That's smooth, man!
Cheers
Terry
I’m so glad that you moved the engine under the cab. I looks s much better there. I’m really enjoying this build. RG in Kentucky.
I admire your work, this is really a great project.
Well my friend best thing about it you’re having a good time ,I love to do projects When I was young like you brother .But now I can’t work anymore but ,I sure enjoy watching you do your thing bro, have a blessed day my brother.

I think a tip jar for funding some Dynamat to keep Wally cool and quiet during his travels in the COE would be good.
Beautiful fab work my friend.
I like where your going. and you are going to have nice warm feet in the AZ cold summers.
I will be able to cook breakfast on my way to work 😂
Damn that worked out way better than I expected. Looks like she’ll be a pain to service but it’s a true COE again. Looks great and your motor and trans mount look like the way to go.
It’s not too bad really, I can get to everything.
Wally. You should make the air intake come via the rear of the cab, to minimise heating the intake.
I’m looking into that, air intake snorkel like the old cabovers.
@wallysworkin823 yes like euro trucks have. And a bellows to allow for the cab to tip forward
Looks like it's going to work, looks better like this! stay healthy and be safe. I am looking forward to your next step.
Looks great! I like the “tilt cab” idea also though. 😎😎😎
My 57 lcf chevy has its engine in the same place. I like it, I think you will too. I'm loving your build, keep up the great work.
Happy to see this, going to be better. I think the new position is GREAT and as you mentioned makes the bed so much better too. I can relate on the overthinking, but it's a process.
Love your process and music too.
I'm glad you did it .looks better .keep up the hard work. Very cool
You are doing a great job with your truck We in Australia dont have as much of the older trucks around like your content cheers mate
Lol
Keep the great work
Wow. Good. Idea. Looks. Factory. Fit. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I like the no plan process. Its sort of like designing a rig on the computer but this is the, in real time, version.
It's going going to look so mutch better Wally
Ugh- I'm the same way. I get a big overall idea for a project in my head, but as a project progresses, it also evolves. It's why my projects always take longer than I initially planned... Glad I'm not the only one.
When I tell my wife “it won’t take long” she just laughs.
Thinking about it is the first part of doing it. You know you want a tilt cab. Good job on moving the eng. forward.
Hi Wally, Never mind what people think, Your havein fun, I,m havin fun and most of the people here are havin fun,Your Doin a great job, And sometimes, plan,s change, Keep up the good work, Lov your Videos.
I feel ya, my mind works the same. Good choice.
Glad you moved it, looks great
Wally, u had me bitting my nails watching u moved the motor/trans forewards. Looks great , No time crunch when it will be done. might want to invest in some knee pads..
I have a pad that I use, but always forget about it 😂
Nuts is as nuts does. Looking great

Nice work, it looks good!
I can't wait for the tilt cab. It'll be great!
Now it's done ,you'll be happy you did.
A suggestion, build your engine cover with the sides and front attached. It will give you better access to the engine once the seat is out. Reinforce the back of the cab with tubing, short vertical pieces and a tube across, then weld to your cab rear sheet metal. .
Looks good. Even if you had to do it twice, it's better than thinking with regret about it later "I should have done..."
Looks great! You are quite the fabricator!
We both have
OLD...... I like the build.
Looks good keep up the awesome work
if you use the steel carbide metal cutting wheels they are much safer they don't chunk out you don't get covered in dust and you don't breath in all of the dust. Yes they cost more but they last way longer. I switched years ago and I will never go back
I need to try them.
Looks great. I like the engine under the cab. I would think about putting a drip rail or something on the back of the cab so the water won’t run right down in the distributor. Can’t wait to see this finished.
Add a small sleeper cab in back of main cab take tools and stuff. Instead of jam, ing. In vab
Loved the ominous background music while you were dropping the engine into place.
Tilt the cab would be so cool and extra access
Saw full custom garage Ian do it on an old truck
Good job !! Like the COE
Much better I really like it
For your next cabover, you should build a motorhome! 😁
😂 oh man, that’s funny.
Very nice build 👍👍
I think it looks better like that, but you sure had me nervous for a minute, lol great video, Wally.
😂
Looking great. I like it.
Love it looks a lot better
I think it was worth it . I like it 👍😉
This was a good move!
Awesome job! Not easy by yourself!
Wally she is looking good, engine looks great and hope it will be easy to reach everything. Think bbc corvette
It’s not bad.
@@wallysworkin823 sounds great
You should have a nice warm seat in winter to. No but seriously i like your thinking. Keep em coming 👍 👌
Fine line between genius an madness 😮walk the line 🇺🇲💯❤️👍
This is all madness 😂
best to do it the way it works for you Nice Build. tilt the seat and make it push out either door to expose the engine
So much for the flat floor. If only one could tip the cab forward a bit. Funny that no commercial truck company ever thought of that.
It’ll be flat around my feet.
Motor under the cab is way more cool and worth the effort in my opinion. We both build things the same way, start doing something and change the direction if it makes the project better. When I have completely redone something, I just figure it is improving my skills, the time and effort just makes a guy a better fabricator.
Something I said in earnest. "I cut that off 3 times and it's still too short." Looking good Wally.
😂
Looking hood! You could cut the snorkel off the air cleaner, flip it over and put it out the back to the transmission and it should pull fresh air from where the back of the cab is cut out
Looks good. Git R Done.

Finally another video
yeah much better 👍 & not to much hassle to change it. With some engine sound deadner you'll be good to go
Love it Wally you are doing like all of us, mistakes and all then restarting all again
Better than them High End builds where a bunch of mechanics do it then the celeb comes on and
"Says look what I done"
Tilt cab here we come
I think that moving the engine forward was a smart idea. Should improve the weight and balance on the suspension as having the engine were you initially put it was almost the center of the truck between the axles and having some weight on the front end is, in my mind, good idea.
Remember what Mortske says, " it does not matter how you get it done as long as you are having fun!" I think it looks great.
I really like the position of eng.
looking good
Looks nice
Hi Wally, Really enjoying your video's on this build. You cant beat modifying a modification. 😂. Engine does look better there , more original look too. Keep the videos coming, stay safe. Dave....Norwich. UK.
Thanks 👍
Milestone! And even if you need it to tilt, you wouldn't need much angle to get to all the big stuff.
Well, i guess someone could think you have lost your mind, but not me, The engine is right on the spot where it should be now!

I’m looking into doing an old style intake like freightliners and Peterbilt’s had

I’ll need to crawl under the truck to get to the front, but that’s not a big deal. Everything else will be fine too.
Good Job. Your truck your rules. pb
good position for Motor
I think you should make the cab tilt forward for accessibility. Even if the seat tilts forward it's going to be a pain to do maintenance. Keep it as easy to work on as possible.
