    Thank you for saving another Volkswagen and encouraging us to keep pushing. As for the floor mat, leave it in place and liberally apply Aerospace 303. Then let it sit a day or two, then get something underneath as taking it up so supported, flip over, and treat the underside. Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Adriel

      @@VWNate1 Before the Hanover plant was built, all VW's were built in Wolfsburg. I don't recall the exact date of change, but many type 2's were built there both during and after the barndoor era. That round tube trans hanger is a sure sign of a bus built in Wolfsburg. There are many other odd details that signify their build location, too.

    What a nice truck. This one deserves to be rescued and rebuilt. I like the split-window VW buses very much and I'm impressed how much are left (in whatever condition) around the U.S. Here in Germany it's hard to find them. And when you see one, it's in perfect shape and cost a fortune... Many thanks for sharing your passion!!!

  • @AlanG58
    @AlanG58 Месяц назад +6

    This was a cakewalk compared to the NH Buses! The cab is amazing on it. The small container is a bulb/fuse kit. When you went to the dealer back in the day for a couple bucks you could buy one of these. It should have one of each bulb in it and a few fuses. The older ones were black and the 60's ones were blue. The frame is pretty roached but anything can be fixed and it's still holding up, so there's that. Very nice find, I'd love an old Single Cab!

    went through with the buses. The jack and rake are certainly flashbacks of your last recovery.

    A new chassis is a good place to start, that thing is 'toast' like the mirror! I think it is well named as Lucky, for the most part the body looks good. You would expect the bed to have a few holes as it was probably a working truck. I think the roof will pull out if you are careful Jason. We will wait for a 'will it run' video on the engine as it might not need much work. Great find Jason and thank you for taking us along and BTW I was shouting at the screen to REMOVE THE CAMERA. 📸 👍👍

We removed the wheels and welded steel plates to the bottom of the jacks. Basically like a sled is how the jacks looked. In sand, mud, soft ground the jacks always worked great and no need for boards, etc. Just some food for thought...

    This was really good going Jason getting it out and on the trailer it certainly needs some work on the frame but I have faith that you can restore it as always best regards I will be watching for the next episode Andy Allen

    After rolling in the mud and skidding buses like they were logs, it's understandable why you are tired. Nice job on saving another one.

    What a piece of cake compared to the buses in a stream. Not without challenges, but nowhere near the difficulty.
