Thanks for this vid u saved me £50 to get it fixed, the rollers had detached and the long white plastic thing chewed up abit so happy get my ps4 back now 👍
Thank you so much!! Mine works now. The connector rod came loose. So i put it back in place and cleaned the system while i was there. It works like new now. Much appreciated! 👍
Hector R. my friend's Ps4 started with this issue when i simply disassembled it to apply thermal paste on the processor as it was very loud, after the process i assembled it and it's not receiving disc's, plus, the eject button doesn't even works and everytime i turn on the Ps4 the Blu-ray Reader plays some weird sounds as it likely is trying to eject a disc but there's no disc inside... Any clue?
Have a PS4 that won't accept games. Bought tools and spent (at least) 2 hours following your steps thoroughly. (You missed giving info about that "stringy-thingy". At 1:37 it's still in its position, located on the right. At 1:43 it's been taken of its place. Ah well, t's not relevant, I guess.) Either way, I just checked if my work paid off, but unfortunately it still won't accept discs... Nevertheless I want to thank you for your detailed video. I'm not the most handy guy but this was actually fun, haha. Too bad about the outcome though. Best
Ive done every every every methods from all the youtube and i try like what you just did but still not working the same problem not accpeting any disc its been like 2 month i didnt play any game and ive done everything in my ps4 but still not working please help me i need help !!!!!!!!
I know it's silly to ask, but when you opened your PS4 and removed the optical drive, did you manage to connect all of the cables back to its connectors?
Sorry for asking simple questions, i'm sure you've done them all, i'm just trying to get a good grasp as to where the issue may lie. Both of the rollers have been removed and cleaned correct? If not, I advise you to do so. The mechanisms ought to all work. If not, you ought to purchase a used/new optical drive from eBay and replace it yourself for a couple of dollars (depending what country you live) would be the next step I would take. They're selling for $30.00 USD currently.
Hector R. Ive took the both rollers out and i clean them with a bit of water and return them carefully and didn't work ! So you think the right thing to do now to buy a new optical drive and what about the connecter will i recive a new ones or i will use the old ones in the new optical drive and will it be easy to replace optical drive do i need to be carefully to not broke anything ? And thank you so much sir for the big support thank you so much and keep going for these amazing videos !
Sometimes the metal tab in the button needs to be bent a little to restore good contact. But for this you need to undo the bottom cover with three security Torx screws. Does the Disc come out when ejected from the Menu?
I tried all of this and my ps4 still won't accept disks. It feels like there is something blocking the disk from going in. My rollers looked fine and so did the white bar in between them. What would you suggest I try next? Thanks!
I have some questions guy(If you don't mind answering). Recently a disc was stuck in my Ps4 so I counter clock wised screwed it to get it out but now it seems that it won't accept discs. Do you think this process is necessary or should I keep trying to screw the screw the other way?
Hector R. Actually that might not be the case. If something was misaligned I should hear it moving around if I shake it right? I'm sorry if I disturbed you.
You're not disturbing me one bit. Correct, you should hear a rattling sound within the Drive. However, an object doesn't have to always have to make a noise to be misaligned. If misaligned (without sound), then an object within the drive could possibly be jammed within another object; thus creating no "clickity-clackity" sound yet presenting the relevant main issue at hand. If you can, please open up the Disc-Drive and quickly glance if everything is seeded correctly. You'd be surprised, i've had a few i've repaired in the past where that was the main issue. Hope your PS4 trouble-shooting process goes well my friend.

Carefully dis-assemble the Disc-Drive from the PS4. It sounds like a misaligned object is present within that drive. I hope this helps!
Hector R. Thank you very much Hector. I really appreciate it. I'll try it.
