Well whaddya know, the London DVD wasn't all post production after all, DC sounds great here. Whole band is awesome, one of the best WS lineups ever post John Sykes era.
Yes! He did! I would say that 70% of this voice of the dvd are his real voice. But the are some correction and overdopping of his voice in the chords

Doug has been full time in whitesnake since 2003. He left dio then, but ocassonally played with him when whitesnake was not touring

I'm gonna miss how short the ending used to be until it was longer than I expected, Heck I even expected a lot more - let's say - AC/DC-inspired or JOURNEY-inspired or something.

Funny how this session is like that, at one point you'd expect a full drumfill at 1:37:40 but then there went the bass drum and cymbals at 1:37:41.

very interesting upload! it shows how well dubbed and fixed 2006 DVD (live in the still of the night) was. coverdale's voice here is so lame compared to the one in 2006 dvd. :) the rest of the band rocks though!
Are you mad? This comes from an amateur camera and its a youtube video. Coverdale sounds great. The opposite, it proves he sounded like the dvd at the time
@@MilesAnastasios87 an amateur camera doesnt hide how bad coverdale's voice is, but an official dvd for sale does. if it sounds great to you, you need to go see a doctor asap. it was in 2003, yeah his voice is better than now lol
@@sykes0925 if you read the comments, i think you are the only one to slam Coverdale's voice in this video. His voice was not that good during 2012-2013, in fact it was tired. Anyway you must be a bitter Sykes fan, i dont blame you. Love Sykes too

But you know what? you talked about 12-13, go listen to 1985 rio live. he sings worse than anybody. people make stupid excuses for him but he never really was good during live. his voice in the studio though, one of the best.
@@sykes0925 its a difficult voice to handle, also difficult songs to tour with. Still there are live performances where he sounds superb, for example i remember 1990's Miami show, check it out. Wish Sykes tour again next year, his new songs are pretty good :)

If I had to direct the music it would sound even harder in my opinion. I'm not one who is a fan of that WHITESNAKE sound. (Even with less Snare Drum Hits like that, so little drum fills et cetera).

Well! You can't compare a officially dvd to a vd whit this sound. Lisening to the the dining of Coverdale on Love is no stranger and it is ok. And would be near the occifuall dvd whit a great a good sound. And her is he screaming in a higher ton then on the dvd

you don't have to talk about other old rockers because coverdale's performances back in 80-90s aren't really better anyways. his deep voice is one of a kind but he's one of the worst live vocalists in rnr. i can't stop repeating that.
Geoff Tate is a badass, one of my favorites.
T H A N K Y O U!!! Love of God, somebody had to say it! The tragedy of David Coverdale is that he could easily have been one of the great baritones in rock .....granted, that's difficult to do at 100 decibels, but he could at least have consistently sung in lower registers....but he's spent the last 30+ yrs screeching like a banshee. Ordinarily I'd have blamed everything on John Kalodner, but let's face it, Dave's always been a tart after the easy buck so he'd have probably pursued his Dumb Robert Plant identity anyway. Just a shame when you listen to "Sail Away", "Behind the Smile", "Queen of Hearts", "Soldier of Fortune", and a few others, and you think about what might've been....

The fact he has low harmonics and beefy tone didn't make it " Low register " only or mainly.
