This easily could still be pulled off as an Alternate Future Storyline in Which the Rangers were "Forced" to work together due to some absurd threat that occurred and they learned and adapted due to that negative experience. Thus Becoming a stronger Hexagon as a result it would be an organization created by tragedy and dark times to bring about a brighter and stronger future.
A lot of these concepts while cool definitely seem like ideas that come out more in retrospect, especially with how it reflects current Power Rangers story media. Tommy being the villain at the end with an authoritarian grasp almost like the tyranny of Lord Drakkon, Jason being a sort of anti-Tommy who is actually right that kinda reflects how the current fandom looks at the two actors (or at least my group of friends anyways), the multiple villain factions trying to wrap up or reference older stories which is like how they brought back Lord Zedd in the recent season...it makes me a bit skeptical how coincidental it is.
Sound like a big ideas almost feel should be a movie or game. Probably can help answer somw question but it feel the bigger problem is getting the actors together for it. But i think it be great series and one i would watch and see them working together. It like ideas dream team.
This is one big nostalgia fest. which imo would make it the best season yet. Also if they ever decide to end power rangers this would be the best way to give it a good sendoff!
It also would’ve been a really great way to see just how a lot of the original Ranger teams have been feeling after Zordon’s ultimate sacrifice and to see how Alpha is doing as well. Maybe even some flashbacks of Tommy and whoever became a part of his team during the early days of Hexagon further exploring the command center, learning about the Zords (maybe even rescuing or salvaging some of the old destroyed/lost Zords), and studying the Morphin Grid with the aid of Ninjor and other Ranger allies.
Tommy and Jason becoming opponents, Tommy the overall villain, ultimately deciding the organization should be disbanded all seem pretty forced and sour.
Technically this could still happen, using the Lupinranger VS Patranger sentai series. If you've never heard about it, Lupinrangeer VS Patranger was the series that aired before Ryusoulger (the series that became dino fury) and had a cops and robbers theme. This master thief named Arsene Lupin had this collection of items that were eventually stolen by the baddies. The Lupin Rangers want to steal them back so they can be as good thieves as Arsene, while the Patrangers (Patrol Rangers) are cops trying to recover the items so the baddies can't use their power for bad. There's even a sixth (or in this case seventh) ranger that acts on both teams, in secret with a different suit for each team, so it would be almost perfect for a Hexagon series. Wishful thinking I guess, but it would be massively cool.
Probably someone already mention it but small correction: Jason's team were not going to be the bettleborg suits. The "bettle rangers" were going to be what eventually became the Thunder Rangers. Since the sentai had rival rangers "hexagon" would take advantage of that and have this other team of good rangers but that would star out as rivals in ideology of the main team.
I would have LOVED this. I wish that they would use more storylines like this. More mature themes instead of being so childish of the new seasons (I'm aware it's a kids show, but you don't need to treat the viewers like imbeciles because they're children).
I came up with a similar idea as this when bingeing seasons before netflix took it all down, with thinking about Operation Overdrive's Once a Ranger and the aftermath with Adam and Alpha, and why the teams had their powers back for the... "Legendary battle"
I think something like this could be really great today, rather than a decade ago. It could be a meta commentary on fandoms and how they want all aspects of the lore of their favorite franchise to always fit perfectly. It would also be really cool! The rangers were always in a weird grey area in terms of continuity- older rangers would sometimes show up and it would be like ‘where were you the entire time?’. This would be a great way to tie up a lot of loose ends.
This sounds a lot like Beast Morphers in terms of the rangers having a big military like force behind them and the villains struggling in terms of supplies and man power
this would make a great comic book series now if they wanted to. that way it'd at least be made even if it was just in comic form. i feel like parts of hexagon seem to be possibly used in other seasons. like tommy as a mentor in dino thunder. rangers working in a base with the commander becoing a ranger with spd and doggie/shadow ranger.. as well as in beast morphers. like perhaps some of the hexagon writers were still in some of the later seasons.
Been a power ranger fan since I was born; 1993. If there is a series like 5his that not only gives different outlooks and perspectives on vast different universes, and not only that, but also I closed more background and explanation for all the changes. Yes absolutely yes. This should definitely be a series. And if it ever was this could be a 5 or 6 season long series with 100 episodes or more itself. Lmk what you think
When Tommy turning against the rest was mentioned, I thought they would try planning to work towards an alternative version of a Drakkon scenario, which, according to producers, would fit better in the filming process than the scenario from the comics would have done. However, they still would have had a lot of explaining to do, since Drakkon's story starts in an alternate timeline during the very first season. What also would have been cool is a storyline in which Tommy would lead the new team of rangers against several villains, until suddenly he'd turn against the other rangers and the organization the team is working for, which would happen at mid-season, to give the viewer the idea that he has fallen for his dark side and is a villain again. At the end of the season, however, it would have been revealed that Tommy would have functioned as a hero the entire time, but that he had to act the way he did to lure the real villains in the season to reveal themselves: the same organization the rangers work for. Tommy would have successfully convinced the rest of the team that he and the organization had the roles opposite from what the other rangers thought, eventually teaming up with Tommy and fighting against their own bosses in the end. Also, the organization would have been responsible for the attacks the villains from the first half of the season would have launched, instead of the villains from the universes they came from.
I don't think JDF would be done for this though, because he wants to forever be painted as the hero. The only reason he's okay with Drakkon is because Drakkon is a Tommy from a different universe lol dude this season would have been so killer. It think they could still do it but JDF and Austin would have to be worked together again....I doubt that would go well lol
@@stugod5000 I've only had rumors that they weren't able to be in the same room for years but are cordial now. Soooo what have you heard that's happened between them at the convention's?
I wish this season would be made. I don’t watch power rangers anymore and haven’t for a while now, but I would happily hop back in if I heard that hexagon was going to be a thing
I mean this could still happen and if you think about it since the rumors that came out last year that the next season might be American made original maybe they can do this especially with original ranger suits and sleds
I know sadly Jason David Frank passed away, RIP.. but, if they still wanted to do a series like this, they could use like Austin- Jason Or like Adam or instead of using just 1 solo Legendary Ranger, they could have it be a pair or team of various Legends that made up the creation and foundation of this group. Frankly, I enjoy Power Ranger seasons more when returning Rangers make cameos. And honestly, it'd make a lot of sense if Billy was the 1 who founded this organization, he's just as popular as the other Original Rangers, and he's had experience as a mentor and working with the Morphing Grid and helped build Zords, so if they wanted to do this, Billy could be a good choice as a leader too.
Kinda feel like future producers used parts of this season idea for various specials in seasons. dino thunder and the anniversary episode of ninja steel comes to mind. especially ninja steel since it once again notes that tommy is in contact with other rangers from other teams. even ones that became rangers after wild force (gia from megaforce and antonio from samurai).
This would be a really cool twist to the Shattered Grid storyline played out on TV. Have Hexagon form around a threat of a "Black Dragon Megazord" attacking the various events in time. The rangers appear, fight off the enemies and boss monster left by the "Black Dragon Megazord." Then at the end of season one (do it in two or three seasons), have the confrontation and overcoming of the Black Dragon Megazord, with the cliffhanger being that it's being piloted remotely by Drakkon in an alternate timeline. Season 2 would be the fight being brought to Drakkon as he's gaining more power through the different morphers, and using the imprisoned Ninjor. Season 3 could bring the actual Shattered Grid part where a myriad of different rangers find themselves beyond the grid and have to fight the Morpin Masters. After defeating the morphin masters, they are able to reattach the grid to the shattered universe, and restore balance. This could then act as a multiversal reset a la Crisis on Infinite Earths and The New 52 from DC.
As a follow-up, if they decided to reboot exactly from the start (making a new MMPR), they could do it so that the first season episodes match each one of the original season. However, you change up who becomes a ranger. Say have Jason and Bulk be the bullies: Jason is the star quarterback and a national teen karate champion, and due to that he's cocky and a bully. Bulk follows Jasons lead, but tends to handle most of the physical work (i.e. putting kids in lockers, etc.). This could eventually lead to Jason becoming the Evil Green Ranger, being defeated, and having Zordon and Alpha 5 treat him for PTSD. This leads to him joining the team as the 6th ranger and the Green Crystal and power loss storylines still take place. Then he gets secretly recruited by Zordon for a special mission and he leaves the show after season 1 "to attend world something something things". Ranger lineup could be Zach as Red (leader, his attribute is Hope), Billy as Yellow (2nd in command, his attribute is Knowledge), Skull as Blue (his attribute is Loyalty), Trini as Black (her attribute is Conviction), and Kimberly still as Pink (her attribute is Reliability). Eventual 6th is Jason as Green (his attribute is Strength).
I enjoyed Ninja Storm but I would’ve love to have seen Hexagon be made from reading about the ideas from this video, it sounded like it was gonna be the most ambitious season of the Saban era Power Rangers. That’s if the Power Rangers franchise wasn’t acquired by Disney. But with Jason David Frank no longer with us RIP, I don’t think the ‘Hexagon’ premise would ever happen in any future seasons and also the Power Rangers franchise hasn’t been good these last couple of years. But ‘Hexagon’ would be good for a comic storyline.
Honestly this season would have validated the fan theories about the zeo powers on how zordon wanted a backup team to be used in extreme circumstances while also giving that team time to properly adjust to the zeo crystal’s energy, which is why he gave them the turbo based powers. Sadly though, this never came to pass.
It could definitely still happen. There are plenty of the actors who would revel in reprising their roles. I know for a fact Brennen Mejia and James Davies in a recent "Ranger on Ranger" interview they did, said they'd love to do another season, also posing the question are they the only iteration of Dino Charge, is there a multiverse? Peter Sudarso knows his Ranger history, as well as, if not more than fans, so to not have him on-board, would be a missed opportunity
Hexagon was less of a season plan and more of some basic ideas about how to adapt Ninja Storm, which possibly only ever originated in the fact this season also has a gold shielded green ranger. General story threads may have carried through in some form, but most of this was fanon until it got recursively adapted back into PR as subtext. There wasn't going to be a season called Hexagon, but there was a story concept floated about an organization called Hexagon in the new season of Ninja Storm when it was going to feature Tommy.
It could theoretically still happen, but it would be messy as hell. Hasbro could do this (which would be interesting), but it would would need some serious help from veteran actors of the series. Not just jdf, but St. John, AJJ, and Yost. They would have to retire Trini as a character as well.
I feel like Hasbro could do something like this now that they have cut ties with The sentai, who knows what they have planed once Dino Fury wraps up with season 2.
@@ewgproductions6334 this comment was a year ago b4 season 2 of Dino Fury had even started yet. i really hope Cosmic fury is the only one that isn't an adaption, i will really miss the sentai being adapted since there are so many good seasons that haven't been adapted yet like Lupinranger vs Patranger or Kyuranger.
It would've basically been "Civil War" Power Rangers style. Back in 2003 I don't think it would've been very well received, but nowadays it might have garnered more attention. Not entirely sure I like it being a feud between Tommy and Jason though.
Also Jason was supposed to lead the Gouraigers/Thunder Rangers in this series where he would've been opposed the idea of Hexagon & occasionally Hurricanengers & Gouraigers wouldve even teamed up too
They could still plan Hexagon only now there's many more Ranger teams to include. And wouldn't we all want to see ASJ and JDF together on screen again? Yes! 😁
This could still be done in some form to not only clean up unresolved treads but to explain the master morpher and the morphing grid connections more deeply
This would be amazing to see happen now that Austin St John is back in the franchise and maybe this could be where we finally get to see our Dairanger suits
The only official or almost finales for Power Rangers were In Space & RPM. But these seasons proved popular & raised the ratings so they continued on & RPM became a separate dimension from the main one & later Dino Charge would be its own dimension, MMPR established dark dimension & pocket dimensions. Ninja Steel added another separate dimension & later Beast Morphers did as well.
Kinda feels and sounds like what would end up as the basis for Dino Thunder and Tommy's later appearances in future seasons.
That would had been perfect. Then everything would have tied in together.

1:42 now imagine if they used those style suits for the movie!!
Who knows maybe I could have worked
Absolutely it can be made now!!! All it truly needs is great writing and put it all together strategically and carefully to make it make sense
The whole concept sounds awesome.
1:50 why didn't we get those suits in the live action movie? I like what they went with, but still
Always nice to speculate on what could have been 😊
I would have LOVED this. I wish that they would use more storylines like this. More mature themes instead of being so childish of the new seasons (I'm aware it's a kids show, but you don't need to treat the viewers like imbeciles because they're children).
Great Vid!
Im still waiting for Netflix version of PR since its going to be aimed for a mature audience.
That picture of the group of power rangers in black with neon colors was dope!!
This sounds a lot like Beast Morphers in terms of the rangers having a big military like force behind them and the villains struggling in terms of supplies and man power
This is probably where they got the idea for the basis of that season.
this would make a great comic book series now if they wanted to. that way it'd at least be made even if it was just in comic form. i feel like parts of hexagon seem to be possibly used in other seasons. like tommy as a mentor in dino thunder. rangers working in a base with the commander becoing a ranger with spd and doggie/shadow ranger.. as well as in beast morphers. like perhaps some of the hexagon writers were still in some of the later seasons.
This sounds so good. I wish they could go back to this concept
Someone needs to start a petition to get this started
It think they could still do it but JDF and Austin would have to be worked together again....I doubt that would go well lol
after hearing some horror stories from conventions, it would have been a nightmare on set. Now they seem to be in a better relationship
Zords *
I feel like they could still do this story if they wanted to now to clean up the power rangers continuity.
It will probably never happen because pua magasiva ( red ninja storm P.R) passed away in 2019 so it is likely it won't happen unfortunately 😔☹️
This sounds awesome man!
They announced a 30th Season and sequel to Dino Fury called Cosmic Fury and also a Mighty Morphin 30th Anniversary Reunion Special
Where did you get the villains college pic?
Also Jason was supposed to lead the Gouraigers/Thunder Rangers in this series where he would've been opposed the idea of Hexagon & occasionally Hurricanengers & Gouraigers wouldve even teamed up too
1:43 Those suits are epic af
I remember hearing about Hexagon. I’m almost 100% sure they could have never realized this vision
Holy crap! This is literally a dream for an older ranger fan like myself. Why can't we have stuff like this?!
Yeah! Would be awesome if they did!
1:36 is it just me or does anyone see the super sentai teams in the background
This would be amazing to see happen now that Austin St John is back in the franchise and maybe this could be where we finally get to see our Dairanger suits
The only official or almost finales for Power Rangers were In Space & RPM. But these seasons proved popular & raised the ratings so they continued on & RPM became a separate dimension from the main one & later Dino Charge would be its own dimension, MMPR established dark dimension & pocket dimensions. Ninja Steel added another separate dimension & later Beast Morphers did as well.
