See here the prior issues I have experienced with self leveling RV Roof Sealant: ruclips.net/video/YQFnVyLpYNo/видео.html
Unfortunately I'm going to be putting mine over a 10 year old roof. I have to do the side seal over the door by the awning and I have to do my radio antenna seal. So I'm not going to be working with a completely clean white shiny roof like you have there. I'm just going to clean as thoroughly as I can. And I'm also going to have to attach the eternal Bond along the side to what looks like the rail that connects my electric awning.
I love how you explained the over lap of shingling effect. No one elsedoes that. Your awesome. Good job.
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it.
You should round corners of the tape. It prevents it from pealing up.
That’s a great tip! Thank you.
Great job and how you explain everything
Up until this year I was a fan of the Eternabond tape. But after one year under the Arizona sun the grey butyl rubber turned into grey dust.
Always a great job. You make everything so easy to understand.
Thank you, always appreciate your comments and feedback.
Nice job with the tutorial Deano.
Hey thanks! I appreciate your comment.
Very informative. Thank you
Thank you!
This was very helpful. Thank you. I'm glad that I found this video.
Your welcome!! Glad to hear it was helpful.
How hard is removal if u need to replace that sky lite a year or two down the road?
Not sure what language you're speaking, but the content seems pretty good.
😂. Thanks!! The language is Super Polak.
Thank you for your educational and informative video. I like your accent. Are you from northern Minnesota or Northern Wisconsin? You have a similar accent to Al Lindner of the former in fisherman magazine and TV show I used to watch. Seems kind of like a swedish accent.
😄 Thank you! I’m from Wisconsin. Ah, good ol Al Linder what would we do without the Lindy rig. Appreciate your comment and Happy Camping 🏕️
Better if you removed all that old garbage, then applied the the new
Nice video. I just replaced a couple of vents on my roof with Dicor self leveling sealant but now watching your video, I should have used Eterna bond. Can I use it right away after putting the sealant on or is there a period of time I should let it cure?
Thank you. I’d recommend letting it fully cure before applying the eternalbond.
@@DeanoOutDoors How long until it cures?
Would it be better to remove the old sealant first before applying the tape?
If the old sealant is in bad shape then yes, otherwise it’s recommended to go directly over the existing sealant.
What if you need to remove the skylight. I hear the eternabond is very difficult to remove
It can be, but you can help release the bond by using a heat gun on the low setting and slowly peel it up.
@@DeanoOutDoors To remove the skylight why not just cut the ethermobond along the edge of the skylight, install a new one and do the process again covering the old eternabond that would be left on the roof.
Yes, depending on the condition of the old eternabond, you could do that as well. I prefer to start fresh instead of layer though.
As Mobile rv tech we would never recommend this at all. We recommend to our client is to remove and re-caulk the roof. Then apply a product like RV Roof Magic. We often see when the Eternal-bond tape is used, over time the tape peals up then water is trapped underneath and rot will start. Eterna-bond is for emergency use or fixing damaged spots on the roof from limbs.
Where are the other places that Eternabond should be applied?
Anywhere that you see the self leveling sealant. Along the gutter edges, and front and rear cap seals as well.
