You gals rock! I love how you tackle all sorts of repairs on your camper. You inspire me to seal my Minnie Winnie roof likewise. Seems less messy than digging away the dicor and resealing with the same.👍
I have a lot of respect for strong women, who understand the differences between men and women. It proves also to other women that they are strong too, without putting down men. Great job.
Hopefully you never have to repair or replace the vent covers because you will never get them off now. If you ever need to replace a broken or cracked vent, you will destroy your roof trying to pull off the eternabond tape. Taping the seems is good but not around all the vents.
This is great! I know we are going to have to do this as well. Currently renovating an 86 Toyota odyssey on our channel. Thanks for sharing your journey, definitely saving us time and effort with research. Cheers!
Sorry, but we live in Texas and can't help much with cold temperatures; however, I think 65 to 70 should be fine. Your best bet would be to see what, if anything, the product itself says about the temperatures.
Great work! What year model is your Minnie? Do you use a folding ladder or extension ladder to get on the roof? Does it feel fairly stable when you are on it? I need to get up on my roof but my ladder is about a foot shy of reaching the top. A little shy about getting up there without a taller one. I am so proud of you all doing all the work on your RV! :)
The Minnie is a 2018.Sharon uses the ladder on the back of our Micro Minnie. She feels stable when she's on the roof. Sharon has literally saved us thousands of dollars in minor repairs by doing them herself.
hello from the wet ozarks malena and sharon! looks great and comforting to know your roof is sealed better! great to hear realistic time of completing your work! tight lines and grace be with you both!
Thank you for showing this. Going to be doing mine in the next couple of weeks before the hot Florida weather hits. Great tip with the screen roller 👍❤
i want to do this so bad and climbing my ladder with a bad hip had been a challenge but i should get this done before winter I live in my 2 bedroom 36ft 5th wheel and it needs this so bad. thank you for this video im gonna get started on this projects
Three things I love best about your videos are: 1. I love to learn new things and y’all teach me! 2. I love that you are willing to inspire me so I can do the same thing with my 1999 motorhome as an older single woman. 3. Watching your videos and learning how to do things myself allows me save money. I am a school social worker so every dollar saved is one I can put towards my son’s college education and my travels 😊. Your videos are a ministry and much appreciated.
Wow Sharon you my friend are a amazing lady! That is a fantastic job you've done and put in a lot of time and elbow grease however you've also prolonged the integrity of your RV . I am Impressed:):)
The recommendation is that you inspect the roof twice a year. If you find any dry calk, clean it with rubbing alcohol. We have seen RVs that have had the Eternabond tape on for 8 years and counting. If you find places where the tape or calk is beginning to come unsealed, those should be replaced.
So inspired by your video....I started the project today on my Micro Minnie. When the temp went to 80+ degrees the tape became too sticky to work with. I plan to finish tomorrow. Thanks !!!! Glad I took off the top of the refrigerator vent. It had a lot of pine needles in there!!
Nice work!!! Water leaks are death to campers!(or at the very least, extremely expensive repairs!) When I built my little teardrop that was at the forefront of my mind throughout my build! Definitely looks like your little camper is now set for many more years of leak free use! Enjoy!
We are very pleased with it. The dicor was drying out, and we either had to replace the dicor or do this. This seemed much simpler than replacing the dicor.
Thanks so much! After watching your excellent video, I decided to use the Eterna bond right over the existing cleaned surface. I hear you have to wait nearly a month to apply the tape!
@@TwoTiredTeachers I put a fresh layer of lap seal and down over the old sealant and when it cures I will do this. The more I see these videos of people doing this, the more it makes sense. Thanks for you time for showing us this.
@@mikepj1025 Mike, that's part of the reason we have a RUclips channel. We figure if anyone sees two old ladies making minor repairs, they will imagine they can make them.
If your trailer, 5th wheel... is stay put and not going anywhere, would you consider sealing your side seams, seams around the windows with Eternabond?
Great job! I’m thinking of doing this to our truck camper roof. It is 4 years old and the dicor is just starting to get brittle. It’s been stored inside. I’d rather spend more money upfront and have a better seal and less work as I get older. How long do you think this will last?
We put strips of this where we installed the solar panel 3 years ago and it looks the same as what I just did. I saw video of a person who said they have had it for 8 years and it is still going strong.
nice work teach. question for ya; did you lay the tape directly over the dicor sealnt when you sealed the front cap to roof seam? and if ya did, did it stick well on the malleable dicor bead???? thanks for the help
Good job on applying it. It’s no easy task. But once this bond fails it will be a nightmare to remove. It’s better to just reseal areas that are bad with the appropriate sealant. This type of roof tape is only meant for temporary roof patches with the edges sealed.
You gals rock! I love how you tackle all sorts of repairs on your camper. You inspire me to seal my Minnie Winnie roof likewise. Seems less messy than digging away the dicor and resealing with the same.👍
Sharon has saved us thousands of dollars with her maintenance and minor repairs. Good luck with your Micro Minnie.
Don't worry how long it took - the results are what matters and it is super affordable. Great video!!!!
Thank you so much.
Thanks really helpful
Thanks for watching. We do appreciate our viewers.
it looks fantastic! it is going to take me about the same amount of time for sure! thank you for posting
Just used it. Once it touches it's stuck. I've worked with H.B. Fuller for years. They do what they say.
YOU DID A STELLAR JOB!!
Thanks bunches!

How has it held up over the years? 😊
@@flintcarlton It's holding up very nicely. No problems.
Can we get an update please how does it look
The roof looks great. I'll talk with Sharon about putting some kind of an update about sealing the roof.

Can you give an update (now, two years later) of how it is holding up?
@@bondebond It's holding up great. We would do it again in a heartbeat.
How’s the tape holding up?
Great. Sharon is up there fairly often to clean the solar panels, so she checks it.

Is there a recommended temperature for applying eternabond? I live in Minnesota and it is between 45°-65°daytime temps.
Thanks.

Thank you so much for such an u[plifting comment. We truly appreciate it.
Do you recommend replace the lap sealant first before applying the tape?
It depends on the condition of the lap sealant. Sharon saw that ours wasn't cracked and didn't replace it.
Where did you buy the eternal bond and where did you find the larger roller?
We bought it on Amazon, and I believe the roller was a paint roller. I could be wrong about that.

We call it " stripping " the perimeter and around utilities and vents. This stuff is great. 10 year protection on mine so far so good year 11.
We do love hearing that.🙂
I. Would finish with lap on tape also
Thanks for the suggestion.
Great video, Thanks for sharing I learn a lot. Ready to start on my project soon.
Good luck. Before you start, you might want to see if it says anything on the package about the best temperature to apply it.
Great job! Clean surface, complete application of material and proper tools!
