This one is my favourite guitar intro so far! It was amazing It's a pleasure to rewatch the show with you guys, great reactions and discussions. Keep it up!
"Way to make them second guess themselves" I am really glad someone sees its this way. I love Levi. I think he is an excellently written leader and as a icon for humanity he is absolutely an example to follow. BUT As a commanding officer, I think he struggles to provide moral clarity and certainty. In the forest he gives Eren a lecture rather then telling him to trust him and do as he says. Here, he does a very similar thing at a time when a moral lesson just isn't what the squad needs. These people are soldiers and, let us be crystal clear on this point, THEY ARE CHILD SOLDIERS. They are not mature enough to handle these conversations and keep themselves alive whilst struggling with it. Its a super idea to be encouraging them to question themselves like this. But this is excellent character writing. Despite his super human abilities, he is so very human still.
Im kind of on the fence about it. I think killing a person is a great reason to second guess yourself. Because on one hand yeah theyre essentially child soldiers with way to much on their minds but at the same time I also dont know if its the best idea to say something like "you did the right thing" because it might not really be true. None of them really know at this point whos fighting who for what reasons. For all they know the government needs Eren to save everyone or something. I think he is trying to make the point that in the moment you might not know whats right or wrong but if you want ever figure it out youll have to stay alive. His whole schtick is "do the thing you will regret the least." So I cant really see him sugar-coating it or trying to bullshit them. Also I have to wonder how much training he was given on military leadership based on the way he was recruited.
Just an idea! For every show/anime you finish you add a poster to the wall behind you. Would be a cool representation of your channels progression. Keep up the amazing work!

I was reluctant to watch AoT for years, so I spoiled a lot to myself unintentionally. Over time I forgot spoilers and when I started to watch this year, I binged so much I actually missed a lot of info, so reveals such as Levi's name came as a surprise despite having seen it already.

Ange your a lucky man Carlie is stunning. I love both of your sense of humour and how yee analysis everything thats happening. I forgot to say this in the last one, great new intro/cover Ange, I would love to hear a full version of it. The scene of Levi swinging through the city is crazy, probably some of the best animation EVER.
No spoiler. But you guys seem to have missed this info card from S2 EP 10. "It is not known where Ymir's hometown is located. However, its location is most certainly outside the confines of the Walls."
Fun fact(actually really sad fact that doesn't affect the plot but still): The couple at 11:40 that was on the air balloon are Armin's parents that were killed🥲
Levi retreating at first is probably less about whether Kenny is stronger than Levi and more about being caught by surprise and outnumbered. There's also the issue of Kenny carrying ranged weapons, while Levi has close-combat equipment designed to fight titans, not Humans. Eren being kidnapped becomes something of a running theme. It's not a proper Attack on Titan season if Eren doesn't get snatched at least once. ^^
Its also likely that Levi wasnt just running in any random direction to escape. He came up with the route and plan the second the ambush started. Maybe even thought about it preemptively in case they were attacked as he was already feeling suspicious about the situation. He knows bar keepers can have a gun so he likely decided if he had to escape, the bar is a good chance to turn the fight around. He is very clever when it comes to combat.
11:39 those 3 inceents aren't mentioned again, except the last (you'll see). 1) that's erwin's father 2) armins parents 3) *will be explained later in the show
Spoiler below for S3 The first one is Erwins father. The teacher to smart for his own good. Edit: oh my bad you said that. I was confused by "aren't mentioned again" because they actually do mention the first one multiple times later.
in the scene where armin is throwing up, im pretty sure it's because he was being touched by that man in the previous episode, and the "im sorry" to mikasa means "im sorry you had to go through the same thing" (not 100% sure tho, its been a while)
huh, I never took it that way. Imo he's throwing up because he had to kill someone, and I agree that the "I'm sorry" could means "I'm sorry you had to go through the same thing" - because she did, she killed a man when she was 9 yo.
It because he blew that chicks brains out lol. He asks Mikasa "did you go through this too" meaning "did you also feel like shit when you had to kill someone" Also worth mentioning is when Armin asks her that she reacts with a surprised uncomfortable look of shock. My theory is that she probably realized in that moment that she actually DIDNT "go through this" because she is a much more cold and hard person. It probably made her feel bad knowing she killed a person and didnt really feel anything from it unlike Armin.
You guys are amazing!!! You are watching and reacting to all my favourite tv shows! I ve been watching all your videos and i can nt wait for you to finish AOT. All i want to say is...get ready, because in this season everything changes! Cheers❣️
I was so excited about the possibility of more songs from Ange I didn’t even notice the new intro. I’m not sure how. Although this is more of a calming song, I still love your rendition!
This is where the show gets vicious, truly vicious, it's beautiful. Mikasa is fine with killing whomever she has to to save Eren, the rest...they're just kids. Levi is also a true leader for thanking Armin for what he did. Also, greatest reveal in the show, Levi and Mikasa are related, which you guys DID correctly guess at one point, their hair, eyes and fighting skill being so similar is because they're both Ackermans, Levi is early to mid thirtys and Mikasa is somewhere between 16-18, I believe 16
Glad you managed to avoid Levi's surname until now. I googled his name after watching season 1, before season 2 was out. But since his surname was already revealed in the manga back in 2014, it appeared in the wiki.
Levi and Mikasa looking the same really woudlnt have anything to do with their last name, remember mikasas dad was a blonde. Mikasa's mom wasnt an ackerman, she was a woman of eastern descent.

I think another main subject of aot is to focus on the army or the duty. It presents the look of a soldier doing bad things againts the will bc there is a bigger thing worthy enough to give the live. We can see this all the time in every season.
I literally realised in this episode and the ones before why people always said mikasa was levi's favorite in most fanfictions. Even though she's the only one who ever boldly insults levi he doesn't even reprimand or punish her. So am guessing he had a thought about being related to her somehow but wasn't so sure. Yeah...

This one is my favourite guitar intro so far! It was amazing
It's a pleasure to rewatch the show with you guys, great reactions and discussions. Keep it up!
Arifumi Imai, one of the best in Japan, is the animator who drew Levi escaping scene.
"Way to make them second guess themselves"
I am really glad someone sees its this way. I love Levi. I think he is an excellently written leader and as a icon for humanity he is absolutely an example to follow.
BUT
As a commanding officer, I think he struggles to provide moral clarity and certainty.
Gotta say the cover intro for this season is the best one so far. Well done, Ange!
Just an idea! For every show/anime you finish you add a poster to the wall behind you. Would be a cool representation of your channels progression. Keep up the amazing work!
I’m soooooo freaking excited bcs season 3 answers a lottttt of our questions. One of the best seasons and also ost wise the best!!!! So excited to watch your reactions, love this pace u guys are going for, your videos literally make my days
Came here before notification 😂😂 just got some hunch cuz i was waiting for this episode for whole day 😍😍😍
The sakuga of this episode is really a masterclass, (Extra framerate for smooth awesome action)
I was reluctant to watch AoT for years, so I spoiled a lot to myself unintentionally. Over time I forgot spoilers and when I started to watch this year, I binged so much I actually missed a lot of info, so reveals such as Levi's name came as a surprise despite having seen it already.
Good for you. Unlike many of us which had it stored in our subconscious.
I have been looking forward to your videos everyday , I have been watching your channel for the last month and am always so happy too look back on all these episodes and watching your reactions. Ange your a lucky man Carlie is stunning. I love both of your sense of humour and how yee analysis everything thats happening. This show is one of my absolute favourite fiction stories ive ever watched. Id put ATOT as a much watch piece of art .
Time really flies, I remember when you first started Aot
I still remember the female titan's blood arc :)
@@Un1234l True XD
I forgot to say this in the last one, great new intro/cover Ange, I would love to hear a full version of it.
The scene of Levi swinging through the city is crazy, probably some of the best animation EVER.
I just have to say that the custom music in the intros for each season really adds to the videos. :)
As of this epispde, Armin has
0 confirmed titan kills
1 confirmed human kill
As I live and breathe, seeing new videos from you guys being posted is really the only thing that gets me through the midpoint of my workday.
No spoiler.
But you guys seem to have missed this info card from S2 EP 10.
"It is not known where Ymir's hometown is located. However, its location is most certainly outside the confines of the Walls."
Love the guitar cover on the intro - also the fact that your guitar has birds on the fretboard seems very fitting lol
8:20 SEASICKNESS??? They're on land 🤣
Fun fact(actually really sad fact that doesn't affect the plot but still): The couple at 11:40 that was on the air balloon are Armin's parents that were killed🥲
“This sequence is mint” hahahah very good animation isn’t it
Levi retreating at first is probably less about whether Kenny is stronger than Levi and more about being caught by surprise and outnumbered.
1) that's erwin's father
2) armins parents
3) *will be explained later in the show
Spoiler below for S3
The first one is Erwins father. The teacher to smart for his own good.
Edit: oh my bad you said that. I was confused by "aren't mentioned again" because they actually do mention the first one multiple times later.
I love your reactions, paying attention to the details. This is the best way to understand and enjoy the show.
banger intro cover. I swear every new aot intro song perfectly captures the essence of the season pretty much
Levi escape sequence is on another level 🔥🔥
Also the new intro is amazing
in the scene where armin is throwing up, im pretty sure it's because he was being touched by that man in the previous episode, and the "im sorry" to mikasa means "im sorry you had to go through the same thing" (not 100% sure tho, its been a while)
huh, I never took it that way. Imo he's throwing up because he had to kill someone, and I agree that the "I'm sorry" could means "I'm sorry you had to go through the same thing" - because she did, she killed a man when she was 9 yo.
@@acmh7538 makes sense
It because he blew that chicks brains out lol. He asks Mikasa "did you go through this too" meaning "did you also feel like shit when you had to kill someone" Also worth mentioning is when Armin asks her that she reacts with a surprised uncomfortable look of shock. My theory is that she probably realized in that moment that she actually DIDNT "go through this" because she is a much more cold and hard person. It probably made her feel bad knowing she killed a person and didnt really feel anything from it unlike Armin.
@@Appreciation-Community woah thank you for correcting me! i think in my first time watch i took it in the both ways
Although this is more of a calming song, I still love your rendition!
i really LOVE the new intro, now i cant wait for you to cover the s4 opening
Man when the MP mentions people they killed to keep the peace and it's all parents of different scouts... that hurt.
Mikasa is 15 at this point
Sasha's hearing is the best. She was also the first to hear titans at the start of S2.
Because she is a big game hunter.
Mikasa's mom wasnt an ackerman, she was a woman of eastern descent.
carlie and ange: i want to see more levi action in this season
WIT animators missing their families: 👁💧👄💧👁
edit:
armin: we killed them not because they want to eat us
eren: **is being prepped for dinner** baby i'm not even here, i'm a hallucination
Good to see one of them caught that Levi and Mikasa have the same name. It’s insane how many people I’ve seen completely miss that.
Season 3 second part is the best of history of Anime, this is just an appetizer
This season is has the most viewed i think from most popular streaming platforms ~
Great Theories from recent episode i hope you two are doing just fine Stay hydrated !
Yeah...
He was probably already wondering if they were somehow related or at least wondering if theyre natural combat prowess was connected.
There are two more ova episodes you haven't seen. You should watch before season 2
1. A sudden visitor
2. Distress
There are total 5 ova episodes after season 1
2 ova after season 2 ( good bye wall Sina)
1 OVA after season 3, part 1 ( lost in the cruel world).
You guys are now in season 3, I think you will regret it later 😶.
@@hanzalarafat466 have you seen final season part 1 & 2 ?
There is no connection between ova ( lost in the cruel world) and final season.
The story line of that ova is connected to season 1.
Fun fact, that storyline is a alternate storyline based on mikasa's different choices in season 1.
@@hanzalarafat466 so, after watching season 3 part 1 that ova is no longer a spoiler.
@@hanzalarafat466 I know, you have watched final season. I didn't read the manga, so i don't know the ending. 🙂
But don't see it in your point of view. viewers like me, don't know it's a spoiler. If you say it then it is....
But still i don't think it's a major spoiler. Because I fully trust the studio, they know how to organize and release the story.
It's not like they want to spoil there own show🙂🙂 . If they released it during the season 3 part 1 , then it doesn't look like a spoiler. I think they want to create hype between the viewers.
(I considered what you are saying, you know better than me. but See it in my point of view)
Forgot how good the animation on this episode was 🔥🔥🔥
WOW! Nice guitar intro, dude! I rarely leave a comment on any youtube video but u just made me lol
That is Not a spoiler !!
In 11:39 ---> That was Erwin's Dad, his Dad was getting closer to the truth so they killed him. You can also see him in this opening (opening of season 3 part 1)
In 11:41 ---> Those were Armin's parents who tried to flee with this air balloon, they also wanted just like Armin to discover the outside world. I don't think Armin knows about that, and the anime won't mention that.
In season 2, when Sasha was saving that little girl and had to fight that titan with arrows, that titan was Conny's Dad, he was supposed to kill Sasha, but Hajime Isayama changed his and kept her alive
Been waiting for you guys to hit S3 since I started following your AoT reactions. Hype! 😁
the "erwin shaved" commentt...i canttt..loll
Love the new guitar intro ! Red Swan is a wonderful song
Your intro actually makes me want to hear this song with a version of an electric guitar as the lead instrument instead of the piano. It just seems to really work with this particular song.
Good for Ange to make that connection with Mikasa and Levi surnames. Many reactors just let it go over their heads
I could never forget anything about Mikasa haha 😆 maybe thats why the connection came easy
definitely one of the greatest animated sequences I've ever seen. absolutely ridiculous when you compare it to other anime/animated shows
also I semi-wish I thought about the finer details and bigger picture like you guys are. (some stuff is very impressive btw). It looks like yous have alot of fun theory crafting and hunting for details/pieces that fit in to your puzzle
yessssssssssss
I love your reactions . The best and realistic reaction ever
Perfectly shows why watching anime is your own language is so much better.
What's worse than Titans eating you? Humans trying to kill you. This is the wild ride that made us all fall in love with this show.
This was mentioned in the manga here and never talked about again in the future... the cuple trying to fly with the hot ballon were Armin's parents.
Btw I love your reactions
I love season 3. Can’t wait for more reactions!
One of the Interior Police victim's were the parents of Armin. So sad They had the book about the outside world and they try to go and see the world with their own eye. Sorry for my poor english. Salutes from Paraguay.
💪💪💪💪💪🔥🔥🔥🔥
The best reaction as always
I WILL JUST SAY THE SHOW WILL NOT DISAPPOINT U GUYS KEEP IT UP LOVE ❤️
An interesting point: Mikasa does the same rotation move with a blade (sth. like wheel) when attacks the titan as Levi does in OVA 'No Regrets 2' and in episode 22 of season 1.
Season 1: Human vs Titan
Season 2: Titan vs Titan
Season 3: Human vs Human
It’s not really explained, but Mikasa’s dad was a distant relative(not explained) an Ackerman. So they’re like 2nd or 3rd cousins or something
Carlie : "So much information to take in it's like a whole new series"
ME : 👀
the amount of foreshadowing in this episode. i had missed that!
14:00 Levi doesn’t know his last name
That intro is sick bro!! 🔥🔥
Armin felt so guilty, he'll never kill a single person again
And that is just the second episode of season 3! It is my personal favorite. It's a bit more revealing than the first 2 seasons. But do not worry, more theories and questions will appear, even after getting some answers! If you think you missed some plots or missreaded subtitles, you should rewatch each episode a second time. A lot of new infos will appear as long as the story goes. So keep taking notes and rewatching would help 😊.
Continue about showing your great reactions and new theories of AOT every day! 🤗
Before watching this episode of your reaction, I just knew you had to talk about Kenny being a massive loose unit. The biggest loose unit. And then at
01:34 you two didn't disappoint.
Also, you two are probably the only reactors I've seen so far who have not already been spoiled about Levi's last name. The rest of us already knew he was an Ackerman due to how popular he was, and we got into the series too late to not be spoiled. Even at that point in the episode, I thought we all knew he was an Ackerman already.
I really love your reactions, i watch aot again with you🙌
