And finally, another super-duper plan went out to be a great success of taking the 07316 Salem Jn - Yesvantpur Jn Fast Passenger/Unreserved Express train much awaited end to end ride behind a single headed SWR based ALCo in LHF Mode, KJM WDM 3D #11519 😍 And indeed, a memorable trip to south i.e., Salem (Tamil Nadu State - SR Salem Division).
PART-1: Enjoy the video clip of the mighty single headed ALCo's furious acceleration from the main line in almost every halt stations in between, smoking and chugging, dynamic braking, air pressure build-up and twin toned honking sounds.
Stations Covered: Dharmapuri, Palakkodu, Marandahalli, Rayakkottai, Periya Naga Thunai, Kelamangalam and Hosur (PART 3b). This will continue till Yesvantpur in remaining parts.
Big thanks annachi, @RamachandranPalaniramu for the timely update regarding the loco link and I purposely wanted to board from Salem Jn itself to take a look at Dharmapuri - Omalur Jn hills section in between and sorry that we couldn't catch up again :)

In the 80s, the double headed WDM2 hauled Tamil Nadu express began its journey at 23:50 daily. My house was near New Delhi railway station.It's sound was pure music in the silence of the night,and even today it rings in my head.

Well That may not be possible while journeying 😊 But if I'm outside then I'll capture them while time permits

Loved watching this video, it gives a very unique perspective, one of seeing a locomotive's "point of view", so to speak, and that too with genuine chugging sounds and roars as it accelerates. The best part is it's almost continuous without much editing, if at all. It's been filmed with passion and patience!

Yeah the engine make is same. But the power output varies 😊
In trains of Eastern Railways, I have experienced the journey of alco trains...WDM3A and WDM3D, I think WDM3À has a faster pick up of speed than WDM3D
