Thanks! I thought it could work and lower my render times, but no. In older versions of Redshift it doesn't work. Brute Force + Irradiance point cloud is slightly faster. Denoiser malfunctions and increases render time

Very helpful video, thank you! I have a question - When I check the Hardware Ray-Tracing check box on, during render, each frame gives a warning "Scene uses trace-set technology - OptiX RT performance might suffer". Anyone know why? I have an RTX 3080 GPU. Thanks!
UPDATE - In case it helps anyone else, I just found the answer on reddit. It's because I have inclusive/exclusive lights, and the warning can safely be ignored in most circumstances.
When you render an image sequence, will it continue to use bucket rendering? I don't see an option to enable it when rendering a sequence as opposed to a single image
If you switch to the ADVANCED MODE in the Redshift Render Menu, you can choose either PROGRESSIVE or BUCKET for FINAL RENDERING - I'd reccomend leaving it on Bucket because some features dont work in progressive mode

I am considering taking the master class but I have one question. It is possible that C4D and Redshift will change dramatically in the next version (C4D s26). It could also be that the newer node system for materials will be better integrated or maybe Bodypaint will work with Redshift materials. It would be interesting to know if the master class will be updated?
I honestly don't know, but it changed a lot for r25 so I doubt it will change much more going forward in the near future. They've already redone the render setting layout and the c4d layout so I don't know for sure but I'd say it's a safe bet that the Masterclass is up to date for awhile.
Optix should still be available in the latest version (it is for me anyway) but ODIN is a new adition to Redshift 3.5.12. As far as I know though OIDN ( Intel’s Open Image Denoise) is a CPU denoiser, while OPTIX is from Nvidia and is a GPU denoiser. I havnt done any testing (as I rarely denoise my renders) but if you're GPU rendering you're probably better off with OPTIX or ALTUS as ODIN is likely slower (being designed for CPU) I suspect it was only added for artists using Redshift CPU. Redshift is so fast that you probably dont need to denoise anyway (if you have a decent GPU). I tried those denoiser, it can book good for one static image. I tried both altus for animation and some roughness noisy textures were swallowed by denoiser and started making some flickering. Not sure how to optimize denoise to better way but deffinitely good render times.
When doing animations you'll want to make sure that you have Random Noise Pattern unchecked when using the Denoiser. Also it may just require lowering the threshold value a bit.
I do use redshift in c4d . When i save output file as png and render the image sequence the image file format is not png in the output folder . In properties it shows type of file as : FILE
Can someone help with the rendering? The issue I’m having is that my render previews don’t look like my final renders. There’s a post filter applied (which fixes the over exposure but generates a completely different perspective mage colour and light wise?

Could someone please make a tutorial on how to render a flicker free animation of interiors (interior design) using flythrough prepass? Moving camera, moving objects etc without splotches? A trillion tutorials but not one about this?
Redshift community so poor and have bad support. Tutorials about redshift it's something about cubes and sphere) you can't find high level courses or tuts, not enough information. For example we have a lot of tutorials about corona, arnold, vray, octane, cycle, but redshift still have zero information. Try to find tuts about photoreal landscape, snow, mountains, any serious information, you don't fond
We totally agree OneWay! We're doing a lot more Redshift stuff these days and really want to concentrate on what people need help with most - I think we should cover photorealistic Landscapes for sure - I've added this to our list;)
@@CGShortcuts I recently worked on a large commercial project 2 month ago, it was necessary to create snowy urban landscapes, I was looking for lessons how to create snow shaders etc, or how to apply snow using a slopes, heights etc, and I didn’t find any tuts, in the end I had to experiment and invent myself, but I coped with the tasks. I plan to share my knowledge and will produce lessons. I have a lot of experience in commercial projects since 2017 in Redshift, I think my experience will be useful to many. Thank you for doing for our community
denoiser OPTIX still flickering in animation, not to much like with "random noise", but still have. Without denoise we must add samples +512 maybe(depending on scene) and choose pick up good HDRI map, or just use default RS sky and sun, it's all about closed scenes like interiors. And fr save time, use irradiance point cloud, brute force+brute force taking a lot of time and hard to remove noises. Or buy 2x rtx 4090 and relax)))
yep, Redshift now supports AMD "Navi" or "Vega" GPU's (or later) with 8 GB VRAM or more. You might like to check out our other Redshift video here for even more tips: ruclips.net/video/uKRqHwVr0F4/видео.html
@@dexdzll6427 EDIT/PREFFERENCES/RENDERER/REDSHIFT, then you can pick which device to use - dont use cpu AND gpu, just use your GPU for best performance (currently)
Not in my experience. I use it every project and I get super fast clean renders without needing to waste time playing with settings. What's the problem exactly?
Scenes with a lot of refraction, reflections, and SSS, will take way longer, trust me. AS tries to give you perfect images, which does not always mean your eyes will be able to notice. And that took time to render.

I do use redshift in c4d . When i save output file as png and render the image sequence the image file format is not png in the output folder . In properties it shows type of file as : FILE
Very strange, try exporting AOVs out of redshift instead
@@CGShortcuts maybe windows not able to recognise it as png file aso it’s showing up asFILE
Can someone help with the rendering? The issue I’m having is that my render previews don’t look like my final renders. There’s a post filter applied (which fixes the over exposure but generates a completely different perspective mage colour and light wise?
Could be many things, you could try posting your question up on our Facebook Group and someone in our community can probably help you out - facebook.com/groups/CGShortcuts
Hi ! when I click on the link received to download the prokect files I get an error
HI Touhou, seems to be working well on my side. Have you tried opening it in an incognito window or clear your cache?
Where can I find the presets?
There
Try here: cgshortcuts.com/product/redshift-rendering-tips
@@CGShortcuts thanks!
I get a warning saying my scene uses trace-set technology and my Optix RT performance might suffer
Great question Dave! As it's a bit hard to give you a good answer here in the comments, any chance you could post your question on our Facebook Group and one of our community members can give you a hand;) If you could post some screenshots of your issue too that would be super helpful! If you're not already a member you can join free here: facebook.com/groups/CGShortcuts/
The link to the preset files is broken
Just checked it mate and it works fine on my side. Try once again
Are you using Denoising by any chance? You can render interiors without denoising usually to remove flicker. We'll see if we can make a tute;)
Does this also work for AMD GPUs?
yep, Redshift now supports AMD "Navi" or "Vega" GPU's (or later) with 8 GB VRAM or more. You might like to check out our other Redshift video here for even more tips: ruclips.net/video/uKRqHwVr0F4/видео.html
@@CGShortcuts that’s nice, but how do i make c4d choose my gpu to render. i think it’s using my cpu and dont know how to switch it.
@@dexdzll6427 EDIT/PREFFERENCES/RENDERER/REDSHIFT, then you can pick which device to use - dont use cpu AND gpu, just use your GPU for best performance (currently)
@@CGShortcutsThanks for the help btw! I tried this and sadly only my CPU shows up under 'compute devices'.
Where is a Free Project?
Our bad, forgot to post the link: cgshortcuts.com/product/redshift-rendering-tips
its not really free project if its in a membership
Can you see the big Download Button on that page? Its free. The Membership includes this and a lot of other stuff
Auto sampling is crap, hundreds of threads on RS forum complaining how it fails. You always will get better time rendering doing it manually.
Cinema 4d scheme is to dark😢
then make it brighter?
Good for your eyes
@@tillgiermann3796 Are there any presets? Tweaking each interface color in the settings makes it even worse :( Cinema R25 is really dark
You get used to it after a while;)
Why i should use disabled Blender instead fully functional Blender?
Blender?
Thank you so much for this. Very informative
