***** search for the conversion on youtube there is the offical GPE rom that has OTA updates st8 from google only thing is you have to root your phone after that its a fully functional GPE phone that gets the updates like a NExus
***** Converting to the GPE would be great, but Sense 6.0 is the first OEM skin that I'm not cringing to get rid of. I've actually gotten quite accustomed to it.
I switch phones a lot during a year. And my M8 is the first phone I have not wanted to trade in for a very long time. I really have enjoyed this phone.
Wow! People kept saying I was crazy for getting the M8 over the Galaxy S5, but I knew what I wanted! I've had galaxy devices AND iphones in the past, so I'm not biased. This is one of my favorite android experiences so far!
Coming from an iPhone owner, I bought the One M8, and I LOVE it. It does everything I ever want and need. The speed of Sense, quad-core CPU, and RAM make this phone amazingly quick while not sacrificing any visual performance. All the colors seem brighter and more fully contrasted than the iPhone. Expandable storage also makes me very happy. Bought for $100 with contract, (AT&T) and is the best "bang for your buck" phone out there! Thank you, HTC!!!
I've had this phone for a year and a half and it's still going strong. I've had no issues at all and am very happy. When I bought it, it was a choice between this, the iPhone 5 & the Galaxy 5. I feel I've made the right choice!
Just ordered two HTC M8's for my wife and I. Your reviews sold me. We've had our iPhone 4's for over three years now and suspect this will be a huge step up for us. Have been reluctant to leave apple but I don't think I'll go back.
The M7 won the Global Mobile Award for Best Smartphone at MWC earlier this year, and I won't be surprised if the M8 retains that title for HTC at next year's MWC.
I've had this phone for two months and I'm still surprised with how amazing it is. HTC has really made a masterpiece. It runs so smooth and fast and he's right about the charge time. It only takes me like an hour and a half to charge 0 to 100 and that's with the regular charger(does not support quick charge 2.0) I came to this phone from a GS3 and I honestly don't think I'll ever get another phone from any company other than HTC. My only concern is that they won't be able to make a phone that looks better than this one. The only thing that I don't like about this phone is the auto correct for the keyboard which sucks because I like the keyboard. You can change it though so it's not really a problem.
auto correction on any other plattform than blackberry just sucks. swiftkey is better than stock but it tries to figure out what you are writing. after some time blackberry phones just now what you want to write and after some time you just using the prediction feature like 90% of the time
I have been using the phone for about 2 months now and I would say that I am incredibly pleased with the phone. The attention to detail that HTC put into each and every part of the phone really shows. I hope they stick around
I own an HTC one m8 for now ten months and i can truely say i dont regret buying it for a second.a wonderful phone. Speakers are amazing and even the camera is not so bad at all !!!
I absolutely love my HTC one m8 and just like you I keep getting shocked at how well they have put everything together from the build to the battery life I agree with everything you said. The next HTC will be in my pocket to that's for sure.
I currently own an HTC One M8, oughly a month of use, I must say I absolutely love it. It is an amazing phone, and I am so glad I chose it over the iPhone 6 Plus, which I was also considering. Having the stock option of widgets on the homescreen is nice, in comparison to iOS, where to have to jailbreak. Finding nice widgets is sometimes hard, though not nearly as bad as on Cydia. Like you said, HTC Sense 6 is absolutely beautiful, in my opting much better than stock android. I am simply let down by any other launcher, and the home buttons look much better than on any other OEM. Blink Feed, for me, is a blessing. Being able to look at, and interact with all of my social media in one place is a really great thing. It's one of my favorite aspects of Sense 6. The Boom Sound and front-firing speakers sound just beautiful, and I couldn't be more impressed, and I'm so glad I can import my entire iTunes library to this phone easily. I was afraid it might be a complicated process, but I found a small third-party app that allows me to sync it directly. HOWEVER - coming from being an apple user for a couple years, I am rather disappointed with the entire Google app suite, particularly the Google+ app. The layout is always weird, and the apps simply look better on iOS. I'm also a bit let down by the play store itself, and the lack of several apps I used to use on a regular basis, and now depend on, like Calculator Infinity. The Play Store in general is nice, but the way it's laid out once you get down to the individual app level is confusing, and quite frankly, not intuitive at all. Small things, like text that won't fit in a field being replaced with an ellipsis, rather than fading out, confuses me regularly, because I can never tell if there is more text, or somebody just ended their sentence short and put an ellipsis. The music app also looks like shit, and is completely unintuitive, but that's not a huge deal. There may be a better one out there, but I don't really like straying from stock apps. It's entirely my fault that I don't use a nicer app. Coming from an Apple-centered family almost hinders my enjoyment of this phone to some degree, because I really miss the ability to share calendar entries with my family directly though the built in system, and now my parents can gift me audio books, something I happen to enjoy listening to. I think when my contract on this phone ends, I will be re-entering the world of Apple, but that's not to say that I don't have a new, and fuller understanding of, and respect for Android. I will definitely miss the widgets, and massive boost in customizability, but as I don't really spend that much time on my home screen in the first place, that's okay. The only real thing I will have an especially hard time parting with is Blink Feed.
Meh i got an S4 and i love everything about it, i got great apps on it and it runs great, the only one disadvantage is the backfacing speaker and that is all, also the button and the ear mic can confuse me sometimes since they feel exactly the same
I hate Samsung phones, from the build quality, to the overall design, and TouchWiz makes me gag. S Launcher is slightly better, but the icons are still laughable. That's just my opinion though, and it probably doesn't mean anything because everything about galaxy devices and Samsung in general is meant to be the anti-iPhone, and I happen to like apple. I chose the HTC One because it is the closest to what I was used to, and it isn't so anti-apple.
I'm thinking of getting one in December, but it might be a little old already. Is it still worth it? My current phone is the Nexus 5 with 4% free storage left XD
I've had my M8 for about 3 months and after all the phones I've used, this is by far my favorite device. It brings together everything people look for in a premium device. The only short coming I see is the camera. Htc's attempt at breaking the MP race is something they shouldn't try. The low-light performance is excellent but a 8Mp sensor would've put this phone way over the competition.
DarkPa1adin yea, I guess that would be more accurate. To me megapixel is an accurate term since it's an actual measurement of pixels. 1,000,000 pixels in a MP, how many pixels in an "ultra" pixel?
I know people dislike this phone cuz the large bezels and camera but I love the bezels. I can't stand holding my phone and mistakenly pressing something on the screen do to almost no bezel. Thin and premium and flat out just works well. Love it. Glad I dug dnt way to for the G3
Coming from the iphone 5s, very glad I switched with the M8. Build quality, screen size, battery & the boomsound made me forget the iphone. Your review is spot on!
Wanted this phone since the day I saw it. Now after two months, I'm glad I got it. M7 was no slouch, but I just had to get this. Excellent phone all around. This video is spot on.
Completely agree! I've had the One M8 for over 2 months and it's the best phone I've ever used. It's polished both materially and software speaking. And for all the negative reviews related to the camera, I've taken excellent photos and can't really complain.
It's nice to see that some people still appreciate the M8. People are quick to rave over the camera and say that it makes the phone suck really bad, but like you said, if you only use it for social media, it's a good camera. Also, the M8 dominates in every other category, so I still say it's the best smartphone on the market right now, with the G3 coming in at a very close second.
Loving those lines The m8 is the first android phone that makes me to forget the iPhone Loving my m8 Hoping HTC will continue this trend of these grt smart phones Loving your videos jamie
I absolutely agree with everything in this video. I've had mine for a while now and it seems to have just the right amount of useful features. I have the Sprint Harmon Kardon version and I plug it into speakers all the time. It makes the old speakers in my old Honda sound better with the Harmon Kardon software and the earbuds that came with it are amazing. The Boom Sound speakers are even better on this version as a result as well. This is a great series and I like the idea of reviewing products later in their life cycle.
I have to agree with Both of you. My One M8 is the best phone I've ever owned. The speakers are amazing, the battery life is pretty good, the screen is beautiful and Camera isn't all that bad. Build quality is amazing even though I've had problems with the HTC Case that came with the phone actually Scratching the diamond cut edges of the phone. I flashed a Harmon Kardon zip in order to get HK on my One and now Audio quality is even better than it was before and it was already good. To cut to the point here, buy this phone. You will not be disappointed.
You nailed my sentiments exactly Jaime! Glad to see, like me, you're also a lot happier with the camera now. Anyone thinking that is the same as the M7, just because of the pixel count, as an owner of both, it is leagues above. That depth sensor isn't just for the deficits effects, it also measures depth for general shooting which is why the focus is so quick. For anything candid that is going on a computer or phone screen it is absolutely fantastic, especially if you know anything about photography. Full manual controls are what I want, not over saturated, over processed cartoon like shots with no creative control. Yes, full idiot autos white balance could be better, but it has already had 2 updates which have helped things since I bought it. If I want to take real camera shots, I'll use a DSLR...It is not the camera that I actually care about, it is the user experience. The software is just about the best there is on Android. I actually prefer it to Stock. For one, it is better optimized, which makes the battery life amazing. I loved my M7 last year, it was a game changer, but this is the first time I've ever been truly content with an Android phone. Beautiful build & design, a software experience second to none, fantastic battery life & a wonderful multi media device. And not forgetting one other things, most importantly the call quality is class leading. After all, it is a bloody phone! 😃😆
I went from an LG G2 with a 13MP to a One M8. One thing I've noticed is just how much more I use the camera. Its blazing fast, it doesnt feel like a "chore" to open up. I love the Zoe montage you can make. And if you watch your pictures on the phone or Face\Insta\G+ they quite honestly look just as good as the G2 pictures I took. It isnt until you open them up in some editing software and start zooming that you notice the lower MP. Oh, and Sense 6 is fantastic.
Nice after review. The phone does look fantastic in more ways than one. Only reason I have not jumped for it is because I'm still madly in love with the original HTC one M7.
Jaime, many of the things you like about the M8 (especially its skin) are things already available on all Windows Phones, yet you've never mentioned them in one of your windows phone reviews.... hmm.... if you want some specific examples: double-tap screen to turn on display without the button press (same function as the gesture swipe on M8, on all Nokias), left-to-right scrolling through categories, which is heavily used in WP apps and settings, and audio designed for content consumption (HTC Surround). No hostility intended
I'm m7 user.. After use it long time, i think that 4up camera actually good! Fast snapping picture, very good at low light, good quality. Don't know why people always put sarcasm on this camera..
Osama Bin Abdulrahman You don't have to crop it. Maybe I want to use it as a desktop background or frame it. My G2 is fine in low light. Obviously not as good as the One, but the gap isn't sufficient enough to justify anything given the margin between the phones in other environments. And honestly, if low light is that important, people really shouldn't be using a smartphone camera. With phones, it becomes a matter of the best of the worst. No phone comes up with a great low light shot. Until there's a big leap in technology, smartphone cameras will always be fairly limited to the daylight shot/instagram pic.
The most amazing phone. I'm still in awe whenever I look at or use it! I also love that someone else noticed lots of design elements from sense 6 in Android L.
Truly good review I have to admit that if you own this phone it really outperforms iPhone class and performance .camera is decent voice quality and sound is supreme. Also try using HTC one in ART mode in developer options it will feel more faster. Best touch response that's why apps open faster then any phone in the market. Sense 6 is very smooth ui. Also HTC e8 has been launched with same specs and 13 mp camera in China.
I'm going to say this first...I'm speaking as a person who has previously owned both Galaxy and iPhone products in the past. With that said, this is the best phone out, in my opinion. Tested out the S5, but TouchWiz slows down the experience a lot in comparison, I've noticed. The Z2 is near impossible to get, along with the OnePlus One, but they seem like great alternatives for anyone not sold on the M8. The camera on the M8 catches a lot of hate, but as stated in the video, it works fast and still takes great pictures for simple needs such as social media (which is all I need in everyday life - I'm no professional photographer, and if I was, I'd probably use my actual camera in such instances), especially the front-facing 5 MP camera. I took a photo with the rear camera at a dark venue for one of my concerts last week and it came out great, so that extra sensor and the ultrapixels definitely do their job as well. Most importantly, the M8 has the user experience game locked down, in my opinion. It runs fast, Blinkfeed makes staying updated on all my news very easy, BoomSound is BoomSound (enough said), and the battery life holds up well. HTC is on the right path. Hopefully, the M9 improves on what's already great about the M8 and optimizes the full potential of Android L. P.S. this phone has been out for months now, not weeks. Not sure where people in the comments are getting that from.
It's been a month since I bought it and I don't regret it one bit. The best reason is it has no major flaws. It might not have a heart rate sensor and a finger print scanner but it is the best phone I have used.
I got my M8 a month after its release, and I love this phone. I've had no problems with it and it does everything its suppose to do better than any other phone.
matthebest018 You don't get it. You don't understand what apple is. Go away. You really think people are so stupid that they buy the iPhone knowing your explanation. Its just not true.
robob221 Not understanding what apple is? What kinda bullshit is that? It's a company. No MP3 is better then an iPod but a lot of high end Android phones currently are better then the latest iPhone. Maybe iPhone 6 will change it.
matthebest018 lol. ha. Brainwashed by apple. Lol you think we live in a world were people don't have there own opinions. Your living in lala land if you think people are brainwashed. I have android phones for 1 reason. Bigger screen, and currently, amazing front facing speakers. Once apple comes out with the bigger phone, ALOT of people will jump ship. Unless you think thats just a brainwashing tactic.
I got my M8 a couple of days ago and I'm amazed by this phone. Coming from a Nexus 5 I was worried Sense would suck but its actually better than stock! Instead of changing everything, HTC just took stock android and improved on it, which makes an excellent user experience. Hardware wise this phone is insanely premium, from the build quality to the display, everything is outstanding.
just because they might go bankrupt doesnt mean they'll go out of business, theres too much money in htc for that. they'll either file chapter *whatever* reorganize business and start over
i recently got the m8 and i have had one of the best experiences ever with this phone. and for being a previous iPhone user the change in os is fantastic and dont think ill ever use a different phone ever again
Just got the HTC One M8 GPE last week and I absolutely love it. It truly is the perfect combination of elegant design, premium hardware and with this being a Google Play Edition, I already got the 4.4.4 update a full day before my Nexus 7 (2013)! The price is definitely on the higher end but absolutely no regrets. Glad I stopped waiting for the One Plus One whose motto should change from #NeverSettle to #NeverSell
Great job as always Jaime. My only reservation is the black bar for the onscreen buttons... it shrinks the actual useable screen size back to 4.7" or below. Very noticeable when gaming. Surely they could implement a better solution for such uses... Anyways, bravo Sir.
I really wanted to get an HTC phone this year, but didn't because: 1. The camera, I personally don't like 4mp shits and the one's seems washed out to me. 2. The ridiculous big black bar that is only there to say HTC. 3. Battery size and life, my s5 goes longer power charge then my friends HTC one, and in a year when it will probably start to die I can replace it 4. Wasn't a feature I NEEDED, but water resistance on the s5 did nudge me over to that camp. This is just what I need from my phone, YMMV. I want an HTC because of those speakers, and they finally added micro SD (big reason I didn't get m7) When Jaime says there phones for the last two years get good software updates, that is incorrect- the HTC one X was dead basically after a year....
Jaime's right on the software updates. Lookup the HTC Advantage program. Well it doesn't apply to the One X as you said, but it applies to last year's and upcoming phones.
Jordan Khoviteri-Zadeh We know(at least me) but that is not an excuse. The bar is big and useless. They could ditch the onscreen buttons and let them as they were on the M7 and you would have more screen real estate. Now it is useless to the users eyes. I dont say there are not antenas but they should make something with it.
the black bar is because of the speakers. HTC confirmed that. You should just pick up a one m8 in your local store. play a game or watch a video. do anything with music/sounds... the speakers are gorgeous
I'll tell you based on the fact that I own the M8... the camera is the best I've used on a smart phone. It does exactly as needed and then some, it is the BEST camera for social media on a smart phone and that's all smart phone cameras should really be used for. It has ZERO shutter lag faster than any other phone INCLUDING the iPhone 5S, the pictures come out beautiful and the colors are actually real. The only thing bad about the camera is if you decide to print the pictures and if that's the case you're not photographing right, bro. You should be getting an actual camera for pics you want to frame or blow up large. The battery is the same as the S5 if not better, that's not even debatable I see it first hand at work(Best Buy Mobile) and at home compared to my step dads S5. The M8 lasts as long as the S5 sometimes longer. No idea why it lasts longer at times but it isn't that noticeable since both last just about the same, the M8 is just more consistent from my tests. Of-Course, though, it comes down to preference in the end, I was only replying about the camera and battery. The camera is great and beats the S5 in some aspects. The battery life is great and beats the S5 in consistency. I just don't get why people complain about a GOOD camera on a SMART PHONE just because it only has 4 megapixels as if anyone does anything with their phone that requires extra megapixels. I think it's smart on HTC's behalf.
I got the m8 last week. Easily the best phone I've owned. Sense is amazing. Speakers ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Design amazing. Looks amazing. The camera isn't amazing but it is pretty good.
This phone is amazing.....i don't regret about trading in my iPhone for it... the black bar at the bottom with HTC One M8 is there for a reason... speaker drivers..
I absolutely love my m8 I've been recommending it to everybody. The camera like you said is totally awesome. One of the best low light cameras out there.
I currently own the HTC ONE M7, I had my eye on the M8 but not sold on it yet. Actually the Oneplus One had caught my attention, and is higher on my list. Given their exclusive nature as of now I might turn my eye back on the M8. Dont want to rush before the fall line up drops
Wow I haven't thought about this phone in a while since of course there are many new phones out. But now it sounds like the best smartphone of the year
Sense is the winner for me. Beautifully designed. I still need my iphone but i have a secondary m7 that I oddly enough use more than my iphone now a days. Bought an s4 a year back and I hated every moment of it. The htc interface is just miles better than other android flagships.
This video was just what i was looking for! Thanks for the excellent video review, and now i know i cant go wrong with the M8 even over time! Thanks!!!
Yes all my friends who use the M8 said the exact same thing! If you want a phone with the best user experience the M8 is superior to any other phone on the market! Im getting it after 2 weeks :)
I had my M8 since it came out and I have to say I still like this phone. The only semi complaint I even have is the is the camera . Can't zoom in all the way without it getting all digitized . Manual Mode is Awesome if u know what ur doing . You can get great pictures of the stary night sky when it's nice and clear out . Plus it'll be getting the marshmallow update soon which is a bonus.
Thanks for the review. As a result of this review and others, I'll be picking up my M8 tomorrow and switching - hopefully for the last time - from iPhone.
I cannot wait for another month! That's when I'm getting rid of sprint and going to tmobile but will be getting the HTC One M8.. The gunmetal gray looks so sexy!
I feel the same way about my HTC ONE, & I have the M7, it's like a new phone with the Sense 6 update. As u said it does have some hints of the way the next OS looks especially in the settings, I think both the M7 & the M8 are still a little ahead of it's time & that's a great feeling in this fast paced world of smartphones.
I returned my Galaxy S5 because I felt that it wasn't worth the asking price. The second I held the M8 in my hands I felt like I made the right decision. It feels and looks like a premium handset. Most of those galaxy features are gimmicks. TouchWiz slows the experience down IMO. Unlocking your phone using your thumbprint was inconsistent and I felt like I spent twice the amount of time trying to unlock my device. The camera department is the only thing I'd give the advantage to Samsung. Some of the photos I took were breathtaking. But I'll take the compromise in exchange for a much pleasant experience using HTC sense. Music and sound quality were the biggest factors in getting the M8. There really isn't any competition in that category. Despite the S5 being water resistant I feel much more at ease with this phone knowing it can take a drop. The cheap plastic chrome painted bezel on the S5 chipped away after a drop. My M8 doesn't show scratches and feels like a tank. As a loyal apple iPhone customer I could confidently recommend this phone as an alternative to those looking to try something new. It's a smooth transition into Android that will have you feeling like it was well worth diving into new waters. At the end of the day no one else's opinion really matters. My advice to folks looking for a new phone is to write down the features that you demand in a phone and find the one that caters to your needs and lifestyle. No two people use a smartphone the same. So why would you lock yourself into a 2 year contract or installment plan on a device that everyone else says you should? These "teams" or fan boys all stem from one emotion and that is fear. Fear that you made the wrong decision or fear of not "belonging." Has little to do with specs and hardware and more to do with insecurity and self-esteem issues.
It's simply the most beautiful and great phone on the market. For those who don't like the htc one M8 are jealous or have no interest in superiority about the user experience in daily life usage. This phone gives the best quality in multimedia, long voice chats and comfortable rapid response software skin than any other Android Android phone in the market. This HTC gives the best experience than others.
FULLY AGREED! Now I'm experiencing the HTC SENSE! Now I have become a great htc lover. I watched your all reviews about htc one m8 before i buy it.. thankz pocketnow! I have made a great choice now. and now i'm happier than last month of being bored with my old phone galaxy s2 plus. but htc have totally reinvented the new technology!best smartphone i haveever used! great!!
GREAT Review, and you Jaime with Michael Fisher are the best in bussiness, period !!I remember when the M8 was lunched,u said that the prior reason that you probably won't buy this phone is the CAMERA !I don't give a fu** for camera, for me its perfect how it is,i am working for 5 years in the retail domain @Vodafone Romania ,i have the privilage to use every phone i want,so i know what phone HTC makes. For me,by far...they are NO.1 ! Thanks and keep up the good work ,that all of you are doing, you,Michael,Brandon,Taylor and Tony(from my contry Romania)
I was really interested in this phone, but the salesperson at the Sprint store said it has been getting a lot of complaints in the area regarding phone and internet connectivity. This is in SE Michigan.
After owning the evo I was seriously discouraged about htc so I went to iPhone for awhile but when htc one came up I saw new light and now seeing all the great reviews as experiences with the new m8 I'm seriously considering going back especially after watching this video
Jaime for your comment on charging... note 3 charges faster than any other smartphone due to USB 3.0 And about gaming it doesn't heats up too...!! And for a cell that well built... It isn't suppose to get dings so easy...!! No disrespect
Says a lot that iPhone fan, Jaime, said the M8 is the best phone he has ever used. BOOM!

Hey i hate TouchWiz so i got Next Laucher
I still wouldn't be able to deal with the sway Samsung does their phones. I would have to do a clean install of stock Android, or even CyanogenMod
I'm thinking of getting one in December, but it might be a little old already. Is it still worth it? My current phone is the Nexus 5 with 4% free storage left XD
Wow! Adding to my consideration list.
Adam Hildenbrand
an 8Up you mean?
DarkPa1adin yea, I guess that would be more accurate. To me megapixel is an accurate term since it's an actual measurement of pixels. 1,000,000 pixels in a MP, how many pixels in an "ultra" pixel?
These people must have never used a G3 before.
Not too many people have used a G3 seeing that it hasn't come out yet in the US.
He literally said "perfect" for every part of the phone except the camera. Kudos HTC.
Loving those lines
The m8 is the first android phone that makes me to forget the iPhone
Loving my m8
Hoping HTC will continue this trend of these grt smart phones
Loving your videos jamie
Wow... There you have it... Jaime, a longtime iPhone user said it himself, the HTC one m8 is the best phone he's used.
Oh, and Sense 6 is fantastic.
i own M8 and i love it so much.I cant live without it.
This is the second time I heard "make me forget iPhone" from this channel.
And I totally agree with you.
You ate getting better and better. Keep up the same direction. Thanks for all the great videos
I bought the HTC one m8 2 weeks ago and I must say I'm glad that I did.
The user experience is superior and one of the best phones that I've used.
If I could give this video a thumbs up a thousand times I would. Great job Jamie. Your layout is perfect, you touched on every point I cared about. 👍
I'm m7 user.. After use it long time, i think that 4up camera actually good! Fast snapping picture, very good at low light, good quality. Don't know why people always put sarcasm on this camera..
I know right !! The camera is fucking awesome. I have both M7 & M8
My m7 took ages to take a shot. the auto focus is 1-2 sec long :(
because people want to zoom and see sharpness or dense pixels
Crop the shot even the slightest and you'll realize...
why do i have to crop if i dont need to :)
i am enjoying the camera, more pixel vs low light performance, i will pick low light for sure.
I have the HTC One M7, and I love it except that it doesn't allow for additional memory. Glad to hear the M8 does. I'll definitely keep it in mind.
The Best Phone I have ever used... It has a High Class feel to the phone.
Top of the line features.
I know this hot if you post it. Uncle Walter
I am so happy that I upgraded from the m7 m8 still learning how to use a camera but love the phone HTC is headed in the right direction
Great job Jaime. You and the pocketnow crew are the best. Even that crazy haired, colorful guy Michael Fisher.
great episode Jaime. The praise you give this phone means a lot much since you are an iPhone user. I too have an M8 and feel exactly as you do.
I got my M8 a month after its release, and I love this phone. I've had no problems with it and it does everything its suppose to do better than any other phone.
I couldn't agree more, I've owned this phone for about 3 weeks and have found it to be a near perfect balance of form and user experience.
Being a long time iPhone user, I really think M8 has what it takes to be on par with iPhone.
Iphone is simply playing catch up. Basicly every flagship android phone is "on par" or exceeds the iPhone.
matthebest018 You don't get it. You don't understand what apple is. Go away. You really think people are so stupid that they buy the iPhone knowing your explanation. Its just not true.
robob221 No i get it you guys are brainwashed simple as that lol Cant accept the truth...
robob221 Not understanding what apple is?
I went and saw the M8 today at a store and oh my God, how sexy is this phone! There is no close second to how amazing this feels in person.
I got my M8 a couple of days ago and I'm amazed by this phone. Coming from a Nexus 5 I was worried Sense would suck but its actually better than stock! Instead of changing everything, HTC just took stock android and improved on it, which makes an excellent user experience. Hardware wise this phone is insanely premium, from the build quality to the display, everything is outstanding.
hope HTC dont go out of business, their money troubles hopefully are not that bad
I do hope HTC do well with most there phones since I really do enjoy there products a lot.
just because they might go bankrupt doesnt mean they'll go out of business, theres too much money in htc for that. they'll either file chapter *whatever* reorganize business and start over
The evo phones was excellent.
Have this phone and truly love every second of it!
Well done Jaime, you're correct the camera is a strong point!
Got mine yesterday! I concur with reviewer!
i recently got the m8 and i have had one of the best experiences ever with this phone. and for being a previous iPhone user the change in os is fantastic and dont think ill ever use a different phone ever again
As a former long time iPhone user watching this on my HTC one M8, I approve this video.
Great job as always Jaime. My only reservation is the black bar for the onscreen buttons... it shrinks the actual useable screen size back to 4.7" or below. Very noticeable when gaming. Surely they could implement a better solution for such uses... Anyways, bravo Sir.
I own an M8 and it is absolutely the best all around smartphone experience I have ever had.
I really wanted to get an HTC phone this year, but didn't because:
1. The camera, I personally don't like 4mp shits and the one's seems washed out to me.
2. The ridiculous big black bar that is only there to say HTC.
3. Battery size and life, my s5 goes longer power charge then my friends HTC one, and in a year when it will probably start to die I can replace it
4. Wasn't a feature I NEEDED, but water resistance on the s5 did nudge me over to that camp.
This is just what I need from my phone, YMMV.
I want an HTC because of those speakers, and they finally added micro SD (big reason I didn't get m7)
When Jaime says there phones for the last two years get good software updates, that is incorrect- the HTC one X was dead basically after a year....
Jaime's right on the software updates. Lookup the HTC Advantage program. Well it doesn't apply to the One X as you said, but it applies to last year's and upcoming phones.
Just an FYI the black bar above the bottom speaker houses every single one of the aerials. This was done because of the all aluminium chassis.
Picked one up today, loving it!!!!!!!
Rocking a M8 for over a month now, best smartphone i have ever used.
I got the m8 on launch day, and I'm with you. I love this phone.
I have a M8 and love it. Can't wait until next year for the M9.
My favorite pocket now series
I absolutely love my m8 I've been recommending it to everybody. The camera like you said is totally awesome. One of the best low light cameras out there.
It's still better than the M9
Man this review was perfect. Given as a user point of view. Best review on this phone I've seen
I bought the new HTC one m8 last month, it's an amazing phone. Just love it.
I currently own the HTC ONE M7, I had my eye on the M8 but not sold on it yet. Actually the Oneplus One had caught my attention, and is higher on my list. Given their exclusive nature as of now I might turn my eye back on the M8. Dont want to rush before the fall line up drops
I have m8 about 2 months.. This is the best phone I've ever used
Thank you so much. You just made my decision about getting the M8. I'm for sure going to get it now.
Wow I haven't thought about this phone in a while since of course there are many new phones out. But now it sounds like the best smartphone of the year
cuz it is
Iv had this phone for about 14 months and no regrets best phone I've ever had
Sense is the winner for me. Beautifully designed. I still need my iphone but i have a secondary m7 that I oddly enough use more than my iphone now a days. Bought an s4 a year back and I hated every moment of it. The htc interface is just miles better than other android flagships.
awesome experience I have the HTC one m8 for a 2 months and it's the best phone around!
Love this series
Nice review and view Jaime.
The best comprehensive for this device.
This video was just what i was looking for! Thanks for the excellent video review, and now i know i cant go wrong with the M8 even over time! Thanks!!!
I have an M8. Been a few months now. I love it.
Thanks for the vid! Man that was some glowing review/perspective on the phone.
You are really getting good at making videos man keep up the good work.
I cannot wait for another month! That's when I'm getting rid of sprint and going to tmobile but will be getting the HTC One M8.. The gunmetal gray looks so sexy!
Man, this guy really loves saying "Hi i am Jaime Rivera"...i really think that by now every pocketnow subscriber knows who Jaime is. ;)
I got the HTC One since May the 1st now and I agree ! This HTC One m8 is just superior!
Probably this is most positive ATB phone ever ;)
Thank you for the Review!
I've had my M8 Hardan Karman edition for a month, AMAZING.
I fully agree with Jaime, I cant stop using my M8 because it is a great phone. I have tried the G2, Z2, and S5 and I the M8 is my main driver.
Great review....I am keeping mine too till they release the new one in 2015!!!!!
After owning the evo I was seriously discouraged about htc so I went to iPhone for awhile but when htc one came up I saw new light and now seeing all the great reviews as experiences with the new m8 I'm seriously considering going back especially after watching this video
Jaime for your comment on charging... note 3 charges faster than any other smartphone due to USB 3.0
And about gaming it doesn't heats up too...!!
And for a cell that well built... It isn't suppose to get dings so easy...!!
No disrespect
