Bojan Tomic Same here man, I really miss him whenever I see this 'Pocketnow' name or logo. Hope Brandon is fine, wherever he is. He was simply the best.
Can we all just take a minute to realize the time and effort Taylor puts into making a video like this? Everyone at PocketNow has their own style and preference when putting together a video. Let's sit back and appreciate the content being provided to us since we all know PocketNow does it better than the rest.
I agree, I think this almost every time when watching their videos, NO ONE can compare as their videos are incredibly professional and highly enjoyable
1. fingerprint scanner can be used one handed. watch soldierknowsbest's video for details. 2. ip-67means you can constantly wash the phone with water, or bring it inside shower and so on. it not useful only if you goto lake and river all the time... 3. g3 ' screen cracks like crazy. almost everyone i know who uses g3 has cracked their screen. and when it cracks it completely loses touch sensitivity, makeing it impossible to use completely. good luck finding a lg sevice center. 4. although they look as though they use the same processor, there is a very noticeable performance difference throughout. they are from different manufacturer. samsung's snapdragon is made with more advanced technology(like HKMG), which makes it have higher clock speed and higher threshold for throttljng. 5. samsung's screen is MUCH more brighter than g3's screen. im sure that's a big deal to a lot of people. conclusion; i don't agree that the g3 is better
1. Fingerprint scanners are a gimmick and useless. 2. Don't bring your phone in water either way. 3. My G3 hasn't cracked and my son has dropped it twice. Once face down, once on its corner. 4. You're splitting hairs on this one. 5. Not many people care about screen brightness. I keep my screen brightness on about 50% most of the time. 100% feels like it is blinding. But that is just my conclusion. G3>S5
I love using the fingerprint scanner on my s5. I always use it one-handed with no problems, BUT I prefer Touch ID more. I love the knock knock feature on the G3. It's super convenient to wake up your phone just by tapping the screen. It reminds me of my htc one m8 motion gestures in the short amount of time I owned the m8. IP 67 is always a nice thing to have. I don't have to worry if water gets on my phone, but I would never intentionally put my phone in a water environment. I just like the it being "worry-free" The g3 that I've played with in comparison to my S5. The g3 seem a little bit smoother to me. Although I haven't played with the g3 everyday like my s5. The g3 looks absolutely beautiful with those small bezels and a 5.5 inch display. I'm impressed that Lg did that, it's about the same size as the s5 while having a larger display. My s5 gets around 5.5 hours of on screen time on average. I heard quad HD display on LCD's really drain your battery life more, in comparison to AMOLED displays (s5 LTE-A version seem to have the same battery life as the regular s5) In conclusion: both phones are great and are aimed towards us consumers. And we get to decide which phone is better fit for you. (:
Kim Cardassian 1. I agree on that, never even touched it on my s5 2. Had situation where my phone (S5) was completely soaked into water (My grandmothers fault), it was nice to know that my phone will work after that.. And argument "dont bring your phone in water" is kinda stupid, its feature of phone, you can be sure that if you accidentally drop your phone into water it will be fine. You can safely use your phone next to water or even in water while with other phones, you cant bring your phone into water because its very risky. 5. I do care, and in direct sunlight, i always keep 100 percent brightness so i can clearly see everything.
The fingerprint scanner is not a gimmick. I use to hate having to enter a pin and it only got to me ever since I managed to loose my phone with all of my info, ID, Paypal, ebay, online banking etc... saved onto the unlocked device.
max Faeq I'm not a hater , I really love pocketnow and all the team !!! But all I said that (and I didn't mean to be rude) Taylor feels like old school he should change his style !!! Maybe learn from his partner in the team !!!!
I plugged my S5 in at 16% this evening. I had 4 hours 36 minutes of on screen time & streamed music over Bluetooth for about 2 hours today. Battery life is phenomenal on this phone & definitely better than only 4 hours of on screen time like they stated.
Michael and Taylor are on the same level of video editing. They both are mature and have great shots. Although, I'd rather Taylor have his own "Style" if you know what I mean. Unless you guys are going for a unified way of making videos. Keep up the fantastic work Taylor, and keep including your awesome GF in your vids!
Outside of a plastic chassis, iPhone 6 did not run over the S5. Display is still rated higher for S5 in Display Mates exhaustive testing and the 6 plus edges out the S5 camera with optical image stabilization but the 6 still only has SIS, not OIS. Marginally better and it should be with the time to get things better, but I'm very happy with how the S5 still competes.
Jeeze! I hope the OnePlus One gets a greater buzz than the S5. I've bought mine yesterday, I hope it gets shipped in great condition. And I also hope to keep it for 3 years. Like I did with my Galaxy Nexus.
You said it perfectly TM, the s5 is a great, but it's okay compared to other flagship smart phones. My family had all gotten previous gen galaxies 1,2,3,4.... I loved the s2, but I gambled and got the one m8, and it's worth it from the speed, the speakers and the screen, but I would have liked an amoled instead. I still love this phone
I love watching after the buzz. I carry a GS5 and i love the phone. Don't care about the plastic build. I use a case anyway. I find the low light photography acceptable. It's Not as good as my previous Phone (lumia 920) but still ok. Switched back to Android because the app gap is huge in my country. Nice video Taylor
Well Taylor did a pretty good job actually. I wasn't pleased when I saw it was him as we know that He hates Samsung devices. However he was professional and didn't let his personal opinion influence his review. Well done.
Please do the after the buzz atleast one year after the release date of the product. This phone hasn't even aged yet. What next? After the buzz after 2 months?
Love my S5. Great enhancements. I don't look at my phone as a piece of jewelry, so the less than pleasing aesthetics do not bother me so much. You can beat IP67 certification.
William De Almeida i agree with you you have to try the camera first its pretty good and iam talking about the original htc one which is broken now and im using the lg g3 now and its amazing as well!
***** nah take my words for it since the camera on the m8 is the same as the original m7 except for the duo camera which only does some cool effects but the camera is really good but if you want to crop an image or zoom then you are dead.
Everyone bags on the camera but it wasn't as bad as people made it sound like. I think it's better than the one in the nexus 5. Def one of the best cameras in low light. Honestly the only time you notice is when viewing the images on a larger screen like a TV or monitor.
What more value do you get from the M8 & G3? Just curious? I okay with all these day-to-day and something about the S5 just feels better. It does more, offers more, is more versatile, has the highest Meg. camera for the hardcore photo critics. LG G3 made of plastic too, with that 2K display that despite it's resolution still seems not as good nor bright and the Htc with the best build but really not much else. SAMSUNG is tried and true like a Toyota or even an iPhone. They focus on what "their" customers want.
I have had far more success with the finger print reader then all the reviews from you guys combined would indicate. I would say it gets it right 75% on the first try, and 75% on the second. Its extremely rare that it doesn't work. However, i have had web problems lately that show a white webpage even after several reloads, but when i click around it still goes to links that should be appearing on the page. Any ideas here?
samung still need to fix up their software updates to want me to get one (at least in australia it is still slow), people are still waiting for kitkat for galaxy devices
Frankly I think people are too quick to overlook the superiority of the AMOLED screen vs almost any LCD. I swapped out my LG g3 within a week for the s5 because I couldn't handle the angle distortion and washout, not to mention poor black levels.
Hey Taylor is that girl in that video your girlfriend, if so good for you my friend good for you. I never liked the gs4 but you have to admire it's water resistance build.

kgbeezr75 i dont see it that way. the phones should be looked at without mentioning new other competitors. nor does it make the phone worse if the company has more similar products. thats just the usual cheap Samsung-hate. they should just look at this 1 phone.
IceTom87 My last few phones have been Samsungs (S2, Note 2, S4, currently Note 3, probably Note 4 when it's released), definitely not a Samsung hater. It would just be nice to see them not stick so close to the same formula, especially in terms of the physical package which hasn't been the greatest in terms of materials quality and design. Doesn't mean they aren't great phones, just means they could be significantly better if Samsung would take some risks. :)
In my opinion, the GS5 isn't worth buying from the beginning, crappy software and tons of bloated features that are useless more than half the time, and over time, the software WILL slow down the phone, in a MAJOR way.
TouchWiz ain't that bad anymore. You haven't used it so i'm sure this "opinion" of your is based on bullshit. After 3+ months of heavy use, i have yet to see lag or stutter on the device.Don't like the interface? i downloaded KK Launcher and use it from time to time.So no, as opposed to the GS3 and particularly the GS4, the S5 doesn't get slowed down by the software NOR by gradually getting full of applications as, mine for instance is.

I don't get it?! How can you do an after the buzz on a phone that is not even six months old? There are so many other older phones that could have been a focus for this segment.
I just realized I miss hearing: "I'm Brandonmininimin from Pocketnow.com"...
Oh, the good old times. :')
I miss you =(
Bojan Tomic Same here man, I really miss him whenever I see this 'Pocketnow' name or logo. Hope Brandon is fine, wherever he is.
He was simply the best.
Oscar Espinosa Ye, I know, but nobody knew way back when..
Shubham Audichya what happened to him anyway?
Eric Nonis he made a video "changes at pocketnow" like a year ago i guess
do the GS3 after the buss, I've had mine for like 2 years!
Can we all just take a minute to realize the time and effort Taylor puts into making a video like this? Everyone at PocketNow has their own style and preference when putting together a video. Michael and Taylor are the best guys on this channel in my opinion. Their videos are both well produced and they both have a lot of talent.
I agree, I think this almost every time when watching their videos, NO ONE can compare as their videos are incredibly professional and highly enjoyable
***** Wow, I didn't know you watched these videos! :)
Agreed.
orangey456 It's a small world.
Havnt used my HTC M8 in months because I can't stop looking at the display on my S5. It's beautiful.
1. fingerprint scanner can be used one handed. watch soldierknowsbest's video for details.

5. samsung's screen is MUCH more brighter than g3's screen. im sure that's a big deal to a lot of people.
conclusion; i don't agree that the g3 is better
Totally agree! Lg G3 is laggy as hell. and HTC is ugly as hell (at least front part)

What mirrorless camera is Jaime Rivera holding during the intro @0:03? It has a Sony lens so probably a Sony NEX but I don't know what specific model.
Great video as always Taylor!
How come you newer mention the xperia Z line in comparison to these flagships?
damn !!! i thought Micheal fisher will do it then it's Taylor !! so bad !! i think he should learn from fisher !!! nothing personal sir !!
*****
excuse me but i didn't say something wrong !! all i mean is that fisher is the best and Mr Taylor needs little more experience !!!
what you say is true bro hes boring
Simo EL like both of them , they're so good at what they do ,
i think you guys have to go somewhere else to be haters
Okay Bruno Mars.
max Faeq I'm not a hater , I really love pocketnow and all the team !!! But all I said that (and I didn't mean to be rude) Taylor feels like old school he should change his style !!! Maybe learn from his partner in the team !!!!

When will the galaxy s4 get the new touchwiz ui update??
Will you guys be doing an after the buzz for the z2?
Pocketnow What calendar widget is that? Looks great
Where can I get usb cable organizer like the one shown at end of video on a table?
Isn't even half a year since the release and this device gets an 'After the Buzz' episode? O.o
Only 4 months? That's too short, you guys should wait at least 6 months. My mother is considering to upgrade to the s5 from the s3.
I would love a S5 GPE
Yeah me to!
is it worth to buy a phone right now (like the gs5, htc one, lg g3,...)
or should i wait a couple of months for the new generations to comme out?
oh and do a Throwback review of the Galaxy S2!
Still holds down best smart phone
No hard feeling for Taylor martin, he's nice but I'm expecting Michael Fisher
i love how touchwiz keeps the stock android task viewer. i dont know why LG and HTC needed to change that
You guys really need to trim down that intro for After the Buzz!
Why does everyone dislike him so intently, I like Jamie's after the buzz best ...yet to see Joe do one yet tho.
You should've included Sony Xperia Z2 as a high end competitor.
Great video, Taylor!
I really enjoyed this after the buzz. Added plus The FR-S footage 👍
The title should be "After the 'samsung sucks! they releasing the same phone every damn year since the galaxy s3' Complaints"
I was also hoping it would have been Michael Fisher. Sorry Taylor.
Nice video TM. Do for Xperia z2
Taylor Martin and Michael Fischer are two of my favorite Pocketnow reviewers.
I'm glad they switch between Micheal and Taylor
Jeeze! I hope the OnePlus One gets a greater buzz than the S5. I've bought mine yesterday, I hope it gets shipped in great condition. And I also hope to keep it for 3 years. Like I did with my Galaxy Nexus.
Has the gs5 sold much ??? I don't see it everywhere like the previous galaxy phones . I think the other competitors have caught up to samsung
Taylor Martin ***** Pocketnow it feels like default introduction to "After The Buzz" could use a refresh...
That disappointing feeling when you were hoping for Michael Fisher and get Taylor Martin instead.
after the buzz and still the best android phone of the year
can you gus make a sony xperia z2 after the buzz?
You said it perfectly TM, the s5 is a great, but it's okay compared to other flagship smart phones. My family had all gotten previous gen galaxies 1,2,3,4.... I loved the s2, but I gambled and got the one m8, and it's worth it from the speed, the speakers and the screen, but I would have liked an amoled instead. I still love this phone
do the lg g3 after the buzz i am using it as my daily driver and it is amazing no complain what so ever!
Well done.
Do one for the LG G3.
please do this for Sony Z2, im planing on buying one very soon.
Seriously got disappointed soon as taylor came on and not Michael.
Nice background music (title?) :) But we prefer Michael! Haha.
With the One M8 and the G3 as its competition, and the X+1 still to come, I doubt the S5 will be winning any awards come the end of the year.
I think Fisher should be doing it
Please do the after the buzz atleast one year after the release date of the product. This phone hasn't even aged yet. What next? After the buzz after 2 months?
Love my S5. Great enhancements. I don't look at my phone as a piece of jewelry, so the less than pleasing aesthetics do not bother me so much. You can beat IP67 certification.
I don't like the htc one because of the horrible camera.
Do you have an htc one?
William De Almeida i agree with you you have to try the camera first its pretty good and iam talking about the original htc one which is broken now and im using the lg g3 now and its amazing as well!
***** nah take my words for it since the camera on the m8 is the same as the original m7 except for the duo camera which only does some cool effects but the camera is really good but if you want to crop an image or zoom then you are dead.

Yup! I went for the Z2, fantastic phone :-D. if the HTC One M8 had a traditional good camera, then I'd have jumped on board.
awesome phone..
What more value do you get from the M8 & G3? Just curious? I okay with all these day-to-day and something about the S5 just feels better. z ultra on dashboard?
This after the buzz seems a little rushed. My s5 gets amazing battery life though, 5 hours screen on time plus depending on use.
I'll wait for the Note 4.
I agree the S5 has improved slightly over the S4 but devices like the LG G3 offer so much more to the user experience.
Not at all...u people fail to understand the s5 has far to many features for any other phone to compare
Good video
Goodness!! I think it's still new to put a #AfterTheBuzz for s5. Hahahaha!
The brz or frs needs an exhaust man!
do a sony xperia Z2 after the buzz
You gave us false hope by letting Michael do the intro.
Nice review! We beg for a new design from Samsung
can you do for a z2 after the buzz please? awesome after the buzz ep
nice FR-S taylor!
Please do the Samsung Galaxy Note 8!
do the lg g3 after the buzz !
Who owns that GT86??!!! :P
IMO Taylor's review need a certain flare to it that's missing but he shouldnt be receiving this much hate in the comments for it.
Frankly I think people are too quick to overlook the superiority of the AMOLED screen vs almost any LCD. I swapped out my LG g3 within a week for the s5 because I couldn't handle the angle distortion and washout, not to mention poor black levels.
it is good but im more fun of the note line and want to replace my note 3 for the forth generation
Um, i get 5-6 hrs of SOT on my S5 Plus (G901F) while using the phone the whole day.
Hate comments, hate comments everywhere....
I am surprised nobody commented on his new girlfriend
haha, Great Thumbnail!
Hey Taylor is that girl in that video your girlfriend, if so good for you my friend good for you. I never liked the gs4 but you have to admire it's water resistance build.
FRS - Win!
I doubt it would aged well... Especially with what its competitors from other Android OEMs, iOS and Windows have to offer...
Where do I get phones for free that I can review and send them back from the company?
until 6:23 your mostly blabbering about the test and specs to then say you dont like the physical appearance of the phone compared to M8 and G3. Cautious updates hurt Samsung? How is this related to the topic? Dissapointing video.
IceTom87 It's related to the topic because the topic is how the phone has fared since its release. My Swing Copters high score is 6 LOL
IMPOSSIBRU GAMING Not even counting my 64GB SD card which is already half full.
IMPOSSIBRU GAMING Ever since i switched from my iPhone 5, i've been doing great with the S5.
IMPOSSIBRU GAMING people who think launchers can fix bad UI's have quite a bit of learning to do.
IMPOSSIBRU GAMING I have a GS4, no root, no custom ROM, but I have Nova Launcher and it still lags and I have an app crash on me at least 3 times a day, its the worst experience I have ever had with a smartphone.
You guys are forgetting to talk about how the phone holds up. Seems like just a second review........
Pocketnow and Erica Griffin are my favorite tech reviewers of all time
Failor Martin is back !
4 months isn't enough. Wait longer. See after 6 or 8 or 12 months if it's still a good device to buy. What has happened in 4 months? Nothing... Or not much!
It is a good phone great camera excelente screen for me the down side was only 16GB storage and 2GB of ram and the main thing was the home button every time it was in my pocket it will turn the screen on and unlock it or it will call 911 if I have it with a lock on so I went back to my note 3 and I don't have any of does problems.
Doin the heel toe!
people only complain about the software, if your compar others phones like HTC the software did not change at all or LG or other android phone
I use only one hand for finger print unlock.
You mentioned htc and LG but what about sony they have water proof phones and a custom skin it's just not as in your face as some
The only reason I agree that MF should have done this video is because he is the one who did the review video.
To many apps that will never be used.
I don't get it?! How can you do an after the buzz on a phone that is not even six months old? There are so many other older phones that could have been a focus for this segment.
They did this with the HTC one m8 and the phone is way to new to get after the buzz
Where is Brandon miniman???
No longer in an active role at pocketnow as far as I know. They had him on a past pocketnow podcast as his last appearance.
I wondor why!!
He owns Pocketnow. So maybe he didn't want to actively manage the business. He is currently promoting and working on the Themer app.
5:56 ew how can you touch that?!?
was there ever any buzz to begin with?
