    Good video. I still like to use my 1520 even after owning it for so Many months. A nice experience greets me whenever I come back to 1520 from another phone. First Windows phone that I really like and used as daily phone for couple of months.

    My mum's had a 1520 for a few months and she still loves it. Sure, her tiny hands means single hand usage is out of the question, but she doesn't care. The display is perfect for her waning eye sight :)

    This was a GREAT After the Buzz. I'm a proud owner of the 32 GB Lumia 1520 and it's the best phone I've ever had (list include lumia 920, iPhone's, Galaxy's, etc). The 1525 will be a great upgrade.
    As with all Windows Phone complaints, Major apps need to get on board (Candy Crush, Banking Apps, etc). Beautiful Photos. I have no case on it and almost zero blemishes. Can't wait for Windows 8.1 on this beast of a phone.

    Windows hone is amazing, and I love my 1520. Been using windows phone for 3 years now, and would never go back. Got it in December and it has held up so well. Very hard to scratch or dent because of the polycarbonate body. Windows phone is such an amazing OS and deserves more credit than its given. It is so easy to sue and reliable. Going from a windows phone to an xperia z last august, I hated it. No people hub, contacts where messy, horrible keyboard and lag ! Nokia build tough phones even now. I just love my 1520. Never going to back to android. Can't really fault it. You get used to its size. Just keep it in a phone pouch xD

    I've got a 1520 and I still love it to this date! Yes it might not be perfect but then again what phone is? And frankly the only thing I hate about 1520 which isn't exactly the phone's problem but rather WP's is the lack of apps and the calendar issue which apparently not everyone finds it as a flaw.

    ahhh... 2014... when 6" on smartphones was considered "freakishly HUGE" and "Tablet replacement"..
    yet here we are in 2020, where 6" on smartphones is considered below average and 6.4"-6.9" is considered as a normal size smartphone.
    things sure changed a lot in these past 6 years lol

  • @sultanabran1

    you can't criticise it for being too big to put in your pocket, then say it's advantage is having a huge screen. the size of a phone is a known factor. you don't need someone to review that aspect of a phone. raktajino reminds me of jadzia dax. she's as good looking as a 1520.

    • @Pocketnow
      @Pocketnow  10 лет назад +13

      Totally disagree. Different big phones do "big" in different ways. The LG G Flex's curve makes it slightly more portable than, say, the Huawei Ascend Mate2. The Note 3's blockier build makes it more awkward than the Note II. This area is absolutely fair game for review (and re-review) coverage.
      And Dax is wayyyyy better looking than any phone. :) ^M

    I LOVE my Nokia Lumia 1520! Excellent offline world maps (saves me $$), good camera (though not as awesome as 808 pureview camera), loud enough speakers for me not to bring a boombox to work, and this phablet is FAST!! I add a high speed SD card and store everything on it. Very practical for my needs (Office, Office lens, OneNote, OneDrive).

    Very fair review of the phone's enduring capabilities, Michael Fischer. I love my 1520. It's hard to get that across to people who haven't given WP it's fair shake. And if they used a1529 with the WP 8.1 Developer Preview, if they're honest, wolf have to admit feature parity, with both IOS and Android. Even leapfrogging them with the camera app and OS smoothness.

  • @Farrell0208
    @Farrell0208 9 лет назад +5

    Should have stuck it out with my lumia icon, but I'm a phone geek. Had to have the newest and switched to a note 4. Great phone but I really miss the intuitivness of Windows phone. Live tiles REALLY make life easier, plus I loved how different it is from Android and apple. I got rid of the icon mainly because I wanted a bigger screen. Note 4 is an amazing phone and packs quite a bit of tech under the hood but when you have android you get damn fragmentation. Not as bad as say 2-3 years ago but it's still there. Typing on a keyboard on an android is a nightmare compared to Windows phone. Even with SwiftKey installed it still is bad compared to typing on a Windows phone. I have VERY VERY few and far between typos on a Windows phone compared to Android. That's something Microsoft nailed down pat. Aside from less apps available which at this point it is really a VERY few SELECT apps that are not available for Windows phone, the " app gap" is essentially closed. Yes there's no actual you tube app but metro tube is a EXCELLENT replacement that you really wouldn't know the difference of. I actually looked for it on play store when I switched back to Android, that's how awesome the app is. Facebook is available. No it doesn't have all the same features but I also don't live on Facebook either. I'd love to get a 1520 since it is one of the last true nokia phones available out there.

    If the 1520 had a 5 inch screen and still had all the same specs that it currently has including the micro sd card slot I most likely would not have returned it. The camera on this phone was probably the best one that I've ever used as well and since you have the option to save videos and pictures to the sd card I probably would of never run out of space due to the fact that you can now get a 128gb micro sd card for $20.

    They're wonderful. I had one a couple years ago and I loved it. But I got hacked and got rid of the viruses and the guy who fixed it told me to never use it again. Well after a month of not using it, I got it out and started using it again. That lasted about 1 month and they hacked me again. So I sold it to my mom and she never had any problems with hackers. I guess they wanted me. Anyway that's my favorite phone and in a couple days I'm getting another one. I love it that much
