💍 Hilarious Wedding Dress Fails! Say "I Don't!" to Fashion Mishaps! 💍
Oh, dear viewers, get ready to witness some jaw-dropping, side-splitting wedding dress fails that will make you question the sanity of some brides-to-be! Join me, Charlotte Dobre, your go-to gal for laughter and fashion faux pas, as we embark on a journey through the wacky world of wedding dress disasters! 😂👰
In this uproarious RUclips video, we'll explore the cringe-worthy moments when brides thought they had found their dream dress, but reality had different plans. Brace yourselves for bridal blunders, fashion missteps, and some seriously questionable choices that'll leave you scratching your head! 🙈
First up, we have the "Puffy Princess" bride who decided that bigger is better. She rocks a gown with so many layers and ruffles that it could pass as a float in a parade. Let's just say walking down the aisle turns into a tripping hazard! 🎀💃
Next, we'll meet the bride who believed that "less is more" but accidentally took it a tad too far. Her minimalist dress is so bare that the guests wonder if she forgot to put it on! Oops! 😱🙊
But wait, there's more! Prepare for the "DIY Disaster" bride who took Pinterest inspiration to a whole new level. Armed with a glue gun and a dream, she attempts to create her own masterpiece, but ends up with a dress that's more arts and crafts project gone wrong than bridal perfection! 🎨✂️
And who can forget the "Oops, Wrong Decade!" bride? She channels her favorite historical era a little too faithfully, donning a dress that belongs more in the Renaissance than in the 21st century. The guests start questioning if they accidentally time traveled! ⌛🕰️
So, my lovely viewers, grab some popcorn, cozy up, and get ready to laugh till you cry as we navigate the hilarity of wedding dress fails! Remember, when it comes to choosing the perfect gown, a little common sense and a lot of self-awareness go a long way. Let's celebrate the joy of weddings and the beauty of imperfection together!
Don't forget to subscribe, hit that notification bell, and share this video with your friends who appreciate a good giggle. Together, we'll toast to unforgettable fashion choices and say, "I Don't!" to wedding dress disasters!

Hi all, FYI for anyone interested regarding the blue packaging from the first video. Blue tissue paper is used to store white and ivory lace and other delicate fabrics because it helps preserve the colour so it doesn't turn yellow. The company are doing her a favour if she wants to keep this dress, she can just store it in the same box it came in. I make wedding dresses and I keep my fabrics like this. But I was lazy with my own wedding dress, it took me a few years to think "I should store the properly" and it had already started discolouring. But my fabrics stored in blue tissue paper are still their original tone.

      Exactly!
My daughter wanted to use the veil her friend had, but in only about 2 years it had turned.
So my daughter had that veil? And I made a two layer veil with tear drops that went over the longer veil of her friends.
      It turned out perfect!
(Her friend was ill and could not travel from 4 states away, so both girls were happy I found a solution for the veil challenges)

My mom made my wedding gown. The day before the wedding when she came to the city I lived in, about three hours away from her, she still needed to do the part where my train got hooked into the dress. But she forgot the hooks and eyes at home! So we each got out an extra white bra and took the hooks and eyes off of them and sewed them into the dress. 😂😂 We joked that they were my something borrowed.

My wedding took place on my parents' property. It was outside. I wore a 150-dollar white cotton and lace dress. We had a potluck (everyone brought a single dish) because I wanted to be eating food made with love by friends and family (my dad provided a cow for the meat). The only thing that cost us any money was the band and alcohol. It was simply, stress free for everyone and we had a blast. I think the entire wedding cost us about $1,200 and 36 years later we are still married. We look back on that day as one filled with the love and celebration of two families joining together.

My late husband and I were medieval re-enactors, met at a re-enactment, and of course had to have a medieval wedding. I made his outfit and my dress from silk he brought back from India. I sewed beads onto my brocade surcoat one at a time--to the tune of about 14,000 of them. It took me 2.5 months just to do that. My husband's cote had something like 4.5 feet of beaded trim that I made and sewed onto it by hand.

My husband and I got married in Las Vegas in jeans and t-shirts. We had originally planned on having a regular wedding later, but we ended up using that money for a down payment on our first house instead. No regrets. Interesting side note: the guy who officiated our wedding was a reverend by day and a male stripper by night. And, let me just say, although fully and respectfully dressed when we got married, he definitely looked good enough to be a dancer. Blonde hair, blue eyes, over 6' tall, well built... Almost made me rethink my decision to get married for a second there. 😆 But, that was over 20 years ago and the husband and I are still together, so it's all good.

He didn't say anything at the time because he assumed I saw it too. But, I guess I was a bit too distracted by the whole "getting married" thing to notice. I *DID* see promotional materials for a variety of different local entertainment venues and events, but I didn't really pay much attention to what they were specifically. Though, I did think it was really odd when we first met the reverend and he went out of his way to assure us he was, in fact, a certified licensed reverend who could legally perform the ceremony. Like, why would he think we wouldn't believe he was legit? Well, I guess now I know. 😆

I was 57 at my wedding (first marriage). I wore pants and I wore red. I loved the top but not so much the bottoms. The thing is I felt that the person who attended me at the bridal shop acted like it was beneath her to help me because I wasn't buying an expensive wedding gown. So I basically gave up looking for anything different. I'm glad I wore red. When I came in (small wedding - 25 in attendance including the priest), the priest said, "I've never had a bride who wore red". But when he gave his short homily, he told us that red is the color of fidelity and a perfect choice. And I look good in red and washed out in white.

I did strapless at my wedding, I'll say it's all about how the dress is built. I didn't pull up the dress at all, I did have a modesty panel put in because the dress had a sweetheart neck and, because I've been blessed by my ancestors, I didn't want an insane amount of cleavage. Structure is key!

It’s just frigging expensive to create a whole invisible corset inside a dress, so cheap dresses don’t have any of the necessary structure. Most people have only encountered the silicone strips on cheap dresses, so they think all strapless gowns are made that way

Charlotte is right about strapless dresses. At a friend’s wedding, she wore a strapless dress. It was made from silk and lace and had a simple hi-low skirt that didn’t reach the floor, so it wasn’t heavy. She still spent a good part of the day hiking up the top. During the first dance, her husband took her in for a dip and noticed she was about to flash the crowd and he started loosing his hold on her, so he decided to save her modesty by letting them both fall to the floor. He tried to soften the fall as much as possible with his arm under her. They love ballroom dancing and are both are genuinely kind people, so I think their only mistake in that moment was the style of dress. I’m grateful no one broke any bones!
Because of this moment, I decided on a dress with sleeves when I went shopping for my bridal gown.

It's a white or light pink gown with applique and lace that's a little darker or more vibrant for a pop of color. But the dress itself is strapless with sweetheart neckline, and a cream/light mesh halter neck that comes into a mock neck but also comes into a mesh enchanted style hood that has lace or applique trim and detail. It would have sleeves but they are off the shoulder so the shoulders are exposed and the mesh halter/hood is not attached to the sleeves. I wish I could draw this out so it made more sense lol

My Mum was a wedding dress seamstress for several years. Strapless dresses, if they are fitted to the bust properly, shouldn't need to be hitched up all the time. Unfortunately, the bust is one of the most complicated parts of a dress to alter, because of the structuring needed for the shape. So people get lazy and don't want to work on that part and will often leave it gaping away from the body, and then you have to get your girls to pin you into it on the morning of. Doing any work to the bust was my Mum's worst nightmare but she would put the effort in and do it.
Also, that back bustle of the dress going wrong, it looks to me like the dress she wanted only had a simple loop to attach around the buttons running down the skirt. The second clip where it was going wrong looks like either someone sewed the loops in the wrong place, or in the wrong layer of skirt (easy to do when you're buried in white polyester), or they turned it into a tie-up bustle and haven't tied it right.
I've seen my Mum driven close to mental breakdown from the struggles of altering dresses. Wedding dresses in particular are a lot of work, and I'm glad that she's stopped doing them now, for a lot of reasons. Be kind your seamstresses, girls!

For my first wedding, I wore my mother's dress from 1956 when she married my dad (I was married in 1991). It gold taffetta embroidered with white design all over, was tea-length, big 1950s skirt, off shoulders with tiny rhinestones sewn in the bodice. Mom was 37 when she wore it as a widow getting married for a second time. I was 30 when I wore it, and it fit perfectly since we had the same body type. It was just a courthouse JP wedding, but I loved that "Lucy Ricardo" dress!
The second time I got married in Vegas in 2001. I didn't care about even wearing a dress, but my new daughter-in-law insisted that I wear one she had, that she bought for her own wedding but didn't use because "it was too long". She described it as a long white sheath with a lace overlay and spaghetti straps, very simple. Sounded okay.
She gave me the dress a day before we left for Vegas and I was horrified that the front was cut down to the navel; one of those "look at my boobs!" dresses. I'm a modest person and wasn't going anywhere dressed like that!
I'm a seamstress who used to have my own sewing business and I happened to have a beautiful white beaded lace bodice v-shaped piece in my stash that covered that deep cut perfectly, so I fixed that awful dress.
Later I realized that my new daughter-in-law hated me and that dress was something she'd found at a thrift store for a few bucks, knew it was horrible, and bought it to pull this "prank" on me. She was furious that it backfired.
Edit: Since I only had JP weddings, I never had a reception. If I had, then the first song I would have had played was Nick Lowe's "I Knew The Bride When She Used to Rock and Roll". It would fit, and it's one of my favorite music videos from the 1980s MTV (back when MTV was good!) I highly recommend that funny video, very cute!

Why you can't just say breasts? It annoys me so much when you have to have euphemisms for all body parts so that hypocritical zealots don't have a heart attack when you say breast or ass. And anyway, these places are the most natural thing in the world to me, and I'm not the first to think impure thoughts about them. And anyway, one should remember that not everyone thinks about the same thing all the time.
And that kind of strapless outfit, you should have them made to measure, so you get the right size and wear the underwear you are going to wear for your wedding, and don't change it, then the wedding dress itself won't stay on or look bad. The same goes for your posture. So if you stand up straight at the measurements and then when you wear your outfit you don't, then even then your outfit will not sit nicely on you. So remember your posture at the wedding, even if it's annoying. And yes, I have taken a costume sewing class at a vocational school once, although it didn't become my profession. The emphasis there was specifically on remembering your posture and what to wear under a tailored outfit (or any outfit).

strapless dresses have to be tight, tight, tight around the ribcage to stay up. they have to fit exactly so. if you actually do lose weight for the wedding AFTER you have been fitted, you off it up, it's too big now. once you've been fitted, that's it. maintain your weight.

90% of losing weight is diet. So just be conscious about what and when you eat without letting it drive you crazy, and you will have no issues fitting into your mom's dress come time. So as far as the what you eat, just make a point to eat more whole foods instead of stuff that comes in a box or in packaging as often as possible. And as far as the when to eat, try to make sure you don't eat or drink anything with calories at least 2 hours before you go to bed, and that there is at least 10-12 hours between when you have those last calories at night and when you eat or drink anything with calories the next day (this is hardest for those who like to have coffee first thing in the morning, especially if they drink it with cream and sugar of any sort). To help with this drink a huge glass of water (at least 16 oz) right when you wake up, and after you eat your last meal as it will help you feel full when you crave eating something. I am basically just describing a healthy way of fasting. If it gets to a couple months before the wedding and you still haven't gotten down where you'd like to be, start taking short 10-15 minute walks a few times a week in the morning after you drink that huge glass of water, and before you have anything to eat or drink with calories. When you have just woken up from sleeping and haven't eaten or drank anything with calories yet, your body burns calories much faster than later in the day after you have. So taking that short leisurely walk in the morning will burn calories like taking a much longer run during the day would. Hope that helps, and I know you will look absolutely amazing in your mom's dress.

The dress really needs to fit properly and perfectly, so just make sure you have it altered by a professional seamstress or someone you trust. Also, dont forget to take those alteration costs into consideration because it can get super expensive. Especially if there is a lot of beading near the bust, seams, and hem. For my wedding dress I did an adjustable corset so it didn't really matter if a varied a few pounds (which I definitely did, between diets and stress eating 😅) also did a halter top that basically looked strapless the way my hair was styled down. Kept everything in place.

Omg, you are correct about the stress that brides go through and the part about the weight.
I was 140-141 for all of high school and several years of college (I'm 5'10 to 5'11") and my mom told me that I needed to lose weight to make sure that I don't become too big for the dress that I bought, which was already too big for me at the moment.
It's been close to seven months since I had my wedding and I'm still struggling to get back to my original weight 😅

Worked at a bridal shop and the owner and seamstress had a lovely way of asking and figuring out the size so it lessened the stress and also helped them know if shit was going to be drastic. They'd say "are we planning to loose weight gor the wedding. If the lady was certain and seemed a determined lady we'd suggest holding ordering a month from purchase to see how much they lost to gage what size would be best. If she was iffy they'd generally stick with the size originally. Always gave a month of leeway so to speak so girls didn't end up ordering the wrong dress size and having to pay more than needed to alter. (It was in the purchasing contract etc) most girls loved this. Obviously if the wedding was closer it'd change.

I got married when I was 23 and am now divorced. I loved my dress. I got a designer dupe online for $300 and my best friend's mom altered it to fit me. It was a gatsby style satin gown with a sheer beaded crisscross empire waist to enhance the girls and beaded cap sleeves. Everyone loved it and called it unique but not weird. My only issue was how clingy the material was. Next time I'm opting for an other empire waist, but I want the whole thing made of interesting lace with bell sleeves and a corset back- maybe in black.

I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted as my wedding dress when I walked into the wedding dress boutique. A-line model, sheer lace over the shoulders, a very short sleeve maybe. Many of the dresses I saw were beautiful, but I realized that my stocky/square/wide body wouldn't fit in most of them, so the choices were limited. I was looking only for white or slightly off-white dresses, but then I saw a blush-colored one that I had disregarded at first because it looked too beige, and thought "what the hell, I'll give it a try". As soon as I had it on, it pretty much changed color in front on my eyes. It was PERFECT ✨ And it felt really comfortable too, I could walk and sit and move without restrictions. Our wedding in July 2022 was lovely as well 💖

I am divorced now but my dress was my dream dress. I actually bought it online from China for less than $300. I order it super early with very low expectations (for obvious reasons) but I was very surprised it was exactly what it looked liked in the pics. Had to have it altered a bit of course but it was absolutely gorgeous.

When I was picking out my dress and getting it fitted, my bridesmaids were always with me (they're seriously the best girls). At one point, I mentioned to the seamstress that from all the planning stress I'd lost some weight. She said, "oh great, keep that up and the dress will only look better!" THE LOOK MY BRIDESMAIDS GAVE HER.
She absolutely withered. She didn't mention weight again after that.
In any case, I felt absolutely gorgeous in my dress - which I picked to flatter my body, not to make my body match the dress.

Hearing about the stress brides go under to have a particular body for their wedding, I’m determined to find a dress that fits me rather than trying to fit myself into a dress. Clothes are made for us, we weren’t made for clothing. I’m naturally extremely slender, and wasn’t blessed with much in regards to curves, but I’m going to embrace that and find something that flatters me and makes me feel beautiful. That’s more important to me than having what I deem the “perfect body”. I love my body, it does amazing things for me, and whoever I’m marrying damn well better appreciate it.

I'm a professional seamstress and I've altered many wedding and formal dresses. Majority of formal gowns will have a very large seam allowance (which is the excess fabric hidden in the seam) - usually about 1 inch, which means you'll have at least 3 inches if the dress needs resizing. It's different for beaded dresses, they're a bit harder. My go-to to fix a too small sizing issue is a lace up back. Easy to add and looks elegant.

The holidays were a bit too good, on her wedding day in March (3/3/2023) we couldn't get the dress to zip up. She was frantic, crying and having a meltdown! Luckily we found a nylon cord to pull through the zipper pull, and her big brother was able to pull the zipper up while the bridesmaids held the dress together. She still looked freaking awesome!!!

My dream wedding dress is a pink dress, the skirt is broken into large fabric petals similar to a carnation, a simple bodice with no sleeves but is held up by a sheet overwrap that is similar to a veil with floral patterns matching the dress, pink and white flowers in my hair, my late mothers necklace, my grandmothers earrings, my other late grandmothers bracelet which all except the necklace match the diamond looking crown I would have. And sprinkled in a few places is green leafs in the dress to match the necklace. And lastly a royal blue and purple bouquet.

My best friend went in for her final dress fitting...the seamstress mis-measured and cut off too much at the bottom, to the point you could see her ankles. There was no salvaging it. But thankfully with some problem solving (and me calming my panicking friend) we were able to find a girl selling a wedding skirt that was the same material on Poshmark. It matched perfectly and she looked stunning on her wedding day.

I agree with Charlotte about the strapless bridal gowns. Even tiny little spaghetti straps can help. If you don't have SERIOUS engineering (support) in a strapless top, you're going to be hiking the it up all night, and what a way to ruin how attractive you are in your dress! My nephew got married in the summer. His bride (a tiny little thing!) had gotten her dress so small, she had a "dress emergency" right before the ceremony; she'd gotten the waist taken in so much, she couldn't breathe! Fortunately, the bridesmaids were able to do something about it (I have no idea what-it was fitted, not a corset that could simply be let out.) So you'd think she wouldn't have to keep hiking up the top all night, but she did. 🤷‍♀ Also, since it was a summer wedding, all of the bridesmaids were in strapless dresses, as well as most of the young women who were guests. It was kind of amusing that night, watching all of them, just suddenly stop whatever they were doing to yank their dresses up. All except for one young woman, who was very well endowed. She just kicked back, danced, had a great time. That's the decision you have to make when going strapless: Am I going to yank my dress up all night, or just "Let it go"? I think the young lady who just "Let it go" enjoyed the wedding more than anyone else. To each their own.

Okay for the bustle, that is just a temporary adjustment that can be done to a wedding dress after the ceremony if the bride wants to move around more easily without trailing her dress around (aka it shortens the hem to floor length). They just demonstrate this at the store as an option. It won't be like that permanently.

My biggest regret is not having a traditional wedding. My husband and I had to get married quickly after only KNOWING each other for 6 months. September 11th happened a couple of months into our dating, and he was already in the U.S. Air Force. He was being deployed the following January. He wanted to make sure I was taken care of while he was gone, so we got married at a court house with my brother and his wife as our witnesses. I wore a blue button-down blouse with black slacks. He wore his uniform. We were dirt poor and didn't have money for any extras. We got married on a Thursday, and he left the following Tuesday. We have been married 21 years. So my regrets are not going shopping with my mom for a wedding dress and not having my dad walk me down the aisle and our father/daughter dance.

My wedding dress was strapless, never had to pull it up once. If you have to keep pulling up your dress, it doesn't fit you. Take it to a tailor so they can make sure it's fit to your body, not just a generic size. Also, wear a bustier bra, they work amazingly 😉
