Hi, I'm Charlotte Dobre. I'm an actor, reactor, singer and sometimes (not really) comedian. On this channel I do reactions, commentary and occasionally I make a joke or two. I love poking fun at social media, weddings, entitled people, tiktok and OF COURSE petty people. I upload daily, usually 7 days a week, unless life gets crazy or I get lazy. Come hang out, it's a good time.

I remember hearing about that, it's actually quite common which is scary "High levels of the hormones progesterone and estrogen during pregnancy can temporarily loosen the tissues and bones that keep your teeth in place. This can make your teeth loose. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, up to 75% of people experience gingivitis during pregnancy." As for the rest, she really wasn't wearing that much makeup at all, sooo... Idk why people would have a problem. It reminds me of the video "Try" by Colbie Caillat, it was so refreshing, I still watch it every now and then cause it's really an important message.

@@0Onyx13 Yes, plenty of women loose teeth during pregnancy (maybe just one or two). You also get things like celiac disease (95% of people who have it remain undiagnosed) that can cause "spontaneous" dental loss... no fault of the person.

The lady with the dentures is what makes me feel okay about myself. I had a major dental issue journey due to pregnancy and breastfeeding. The books don't tell you the damage breastfeeding does to your dental health. It was such a heartbreaking journey and so many dentists made ME feel like it was my fault and I did everything possible to combat the struggles I was having. I finally found a dentist that genuinely helped me and knew what i was dealing with and I have a partial now but my confidence is forever damaged due to the stigma of it all. I commend her for being so public with her struggles and your support of that Charlotte!

I’m so sorry Devon. It’s not your fault! Pregnancy and breastfeeding depletes us because everything goes to the baby which is why it’s so important to take care of ourselves too. I was super surprised about the teeth thing too when I had my first. It’s not widely known I don’t think.

It's not widely talked about. I've had three children, two of which are twins, and I breastfed all of them for over 2 years. My youngest are now 16 and I still haven't received the dental care I need for the same reason you mentioned. Every time I go to a dentist I end up bawling. Last time the dentist told me not to cry because it was all my own fault. Then proceeded to removed 13 of my teeth with no partials or dentures because it's not covered here and I can't afford it. I haven't been back to a dentist since, even though I really really need to. I won't take pictures of me smiling. Or videos with my face on camera. I won't even get on voice chats with the irrational fear that someone I know will take a screenshot of my mouth and it will end up a fucking meme. I hate that dental care is only seen as cosmetic and not as necessary to live and thrive.

I’m so happy she talked about the lady that lost her teeth during pregnancy. I am now 22 weeks pregnant with my second child and I have already had one of my teeth crack apart and my impacted wisdom tooth shifted and I can now feel it as a bump under my gums. When I was pregnant with my first I ended up having to pull 2 teeth once they cracked and broke apart. That is something that is never talked about that happens or atleast to that extent. When I go to my dentist they don’t even know why I get cavities super easy even when I’m not pregnant. At this point I’m ready to get dentures so I don’t have to worry about infection or broken teeth pain. They are just so expensive.

Pregnancy and hereditary reasons my teeth got so bad that after my 3rd baby I ended up getting a top denture and two bottom partials. I lost all but 4 teeth.. My advise, since you know dentures are gonna be in your future START SAVING FOR IMPLANTS. They cost a lot more but are so worth it. I am saving for at least a top implant that way I don't lose as much bone mass and I am getting the horseshoe one that doesn't have the roof of the mouth part. My current one is just a normal take out put in denture but I hate eating with it in because I can't taste anything like I used to and food is always getting stuck on the roof of my mouth. 😞 I have lost over 60lbs just from how little I eat now because theres just a lot of food that I can't eat anymore without teeth. It really sucks.

So, you sticking up for the woman who lost her teeth.....thank you. I am a 35 year old cancer survivor. Due to underlying issues both related to the cancer and not, I've been losing my hair since I was 12 years old. By the time Chemo took what remained there wasn't much left up there anyways. It never grew back. Some comes in but it's very thin and very brittle. So I now shave my head and wear wigs. I was very anemic during cancer too, which absolutely wrecked my teeth. So I can understand wanting to feel beautiful and not be judged for it. Am I supposed to present myself to the world as bald with chipped teeth? Most people would instantly think its because I don't take care of myself. I'm used to it and I honestly don't care about what other people think anymore. I'm healthy and content. I really love what you said about the lady that lost her teeth and this whole topic in general. I really hate this catfish culture that goes on now, like do these people calling them out for being a catfish not think they probably already have a lot of self esteem issues? They finally may have actually started to feel good about themselves before and after makeup and that would really hurt and take them back some steps.. It then has an outward effect where people who the comment wasn't even aimed at will read it and think 'am I a catfish?' We already have enough on social media to make us feel bad about ourselves before any of the comments

Wearing makeup, then coming across as 'less beautiful' without wearing makeup is not catfishing.. It's a term thats been stolen to make people feel bad for not looking as good as they do when they've spent hours trying to look that way. This video is not about ACTUAL catfishing.

TY Charlotte. I may never even get to wear dentures. I survived a second major TBI and other injuries. The medication I needed destroyed my teeth. The assumptions people make, the judgment. Guys definitely run the other direction. Bless my daughter. Without her love, acceptance, and lack of judgment (as a teenage girl and young woman), I doubt I would show my face in public.
I'm not fortunate enough to be able to work to save money. I can't ever put that kind of money aside, and I can only eat soft foods. I'm not allowed to have more than $2000 in assets, or I have to pay for all of my medical. Oh, btw, adults didn't have dental coverage until recently, if they had Medicare/Medicaid.
So, TY. For being you, for being kind. Please know that if you see someone without teeth, it doesn't mean that they abused drugs or didn't care for their teeth. Malnutrition likely played a role in my case. The gal you referred to, if I'm not mistaken, did take prenatal vitamins. This happens to some women when they have a baby. If anyone would like me to explain, I will do my best. Before all of this, I was a first shift charge nurse at 25 and a competitive athlete. I was married to an abusive man for 15 years. You never know what someone is dealing with. I try not to et it break me. Not being misjudged by others would go a long way.

I love you taking the time to talk about the lady who lost her teeth and also saying about how it and other things happen to other people too. I have always had GI issues my whole life, but since 2018 I have a severe vomiting and absorption problem (always have but got worse) which has lead to teeth problems. Caused by an undiagnosed GI condition with has just been labeled as idiopathic gastroparesis. Really I have a paralyzed esophagus, my stomach does not function properly and not paralyzed but extremely slow like food stays in it for 8-14 hours after ingestion without meds to speed it up with meds it is still 6-10 hours, because food sits so long I have constant stomach pain. I also have no hunger or full impulses never have so that is "fun" not!! So my bodies fix is to release stomach acid 24/7 which has an easy way up my paralyzed esophagus and into my mouth and lungs, when I am sleeping even more "fun" stomach acid definitely does not belong in your lungs. My intestines are either at a near stand still or spasming and cramping causing tons of pain, they also do not absorb what they are supposed to so I am chronically low or super low on necessary nutrients, minerals and vitamins. Even with the super slowness and lack of absorption I still also have diarrhea to deal with to as a side effect which is worsened by the meds to speed up my GI system and now this year as of February my lack of a gallbladder as I had to have emergency surgery to remove it before it ruptured and spread infection throughout my abdominal cavity. Diarrhea sucks and not much helps it, I also had one GI specialist who kept insisting I could not have diarrhea because I take Emteck for pain and that contains Codeine so obviously I was lying or stupid and had constipation not diarrhea as Codeine causes constipation (but no it can cause constipation not it always does in everyone). Anyway do to the GI condition I have nausea 24/7 and take 3 anti nausea meds a day to help combat it but I still vomit 4-6 times a week on a good week and basically every time I try to ingest some on a bad week, probably about 25% of the time it is either and the other 50% falls somewhere in-between those two. With All the vomiting, and absorption issues you would think I would be a stick but with all the GI issues I am always super bloated and look pregnant all the time which has been terrible for my body image issues. All the vomiting is also bad for your teeth it eats away at them even when cleaned properly (do NOT brush right after vomiting it rubs the abrasive stomach acid into your teeth and damages them even faster/more, so are supposed to rinse your mouth out with water 3-5 times for about 30-60 seconds, then repeat if you still taste anything. After wait 60-90 minutes then brush teeth super well twice) and the absorption issue makes it worse so I have done as good a job as I can on them and the front, back and tops are okay, could be better maybe but not too bad but the in-between as that is the hardest to clean has been a problem and I have had to get 6 spots in-between fixed. Thankfully nothing too severe yet but it could happen so I really love how you stress the importance of knowing the person and where they are coming from and not just judging them. I was judged on my appearance when my hair fell out from chemo and I stopped hiding it/became unable to hide it, I know it is different as it is not seen in such a negative connotation and hair grows back. Again thank you for being so wonderful and treating everyone wether the same or different as a person (not counting AH personalities as one of your acceptable things).

I absolutely love you doing these kinds of videos! Being real about being human! Why do we always have to change our beauty standards or get judged if we want to just feel good about the skin we are in and maybe like something someone else is doing too and try it. I am a thick lady, I’ve always been bigger, but that never stopped me from being a competitive swimmer who went to state in high school, or from being on the tennis and soccer teams too, or doing hardcore drill. My doctor told my parents when I was young that I genuinely have thicker than normal bones and the bone mass is heavier than average. They said this is likely because of my heritage. I grew up swimming butterfly from age 4-19 my shoulders we’re developing in that time frame and they are still wide. And I get yes, some is genetics but when you’re doing a regular activity like 5 days a week all the time your body grows to that modification. I know I’ll never be thin, thin skinny, but I’m tall so my body holds weight differently and that’s okay. I still have an hour glass shape, it’s just thicker. Honestly, we need to just support one another and not pay attention to this over modified picture crap that’s not just celebrities, but every day people. Be who you are, if that’s a full face of lots of makeup do that, if not that’s okay too. But don’t bash other people because we have no idea what their lives have been or are like. Again, it’s a positive reel that they want you to think they live all the time and that’s probably not the reality of their life, guess what that’s also okay, no one’s life is perfect.

Yes Charlotte that girl is a Queen and so are you for uplifting her. She’s so very brave. Loads of people struggle with dental issues & keep it hidden bc of the judgement.

Charlotte, you are a breath of fresh air ! Making sure that young women understand the intricacies of photo shop and filters to help them understand that what they are seeing is not reality ! There is way too much pressure on young girls to be stick figures and I worry about my granddaughters being exposed to this thinking !

Friend of mine does the "reverse cat fish" thing, where they wear very little to no makeup most days, but on special occasions dolls up to the point people are blown away. That way instead of looking tired without makeup, its just her face.

The woman with dentures is SO relatable. I have very weak teeth due to medications and pregnancies. I've lost some teeth that still need replacing because of it. I used to have a big, beautiful smile. I don't like to smile anymore because it slightly shows where my missing teeth are (towards the side of my mouth), and I'm self conscious. 🥺

7:40 Thank you for speaking about this! There are people who use makeup to feel better about themselves because of circumstances that they had no control over. You're a good person! Its good to be understanding of people and not be judgemental

Thank you for calling out those that may be making fun of the woman with dentures. I too, suffered from pica during pregnancy that weakened the enamel on my teeth. Over the years, I lost most of them and partials never fit properly, so it was time to try dentures. Best decision I ever made! I never knew how much I hid my smile until I didn’t need to and yes! It did wonders for my self-esteem and confidence. If anyone wonders why I chose dentures over implants…I’ve heard some real nightmares with implants and those suckers ain’t cheap. 😁

Thanks for standing up for the woman with the pregnancy impact- I also had severe complications from pregnancy like teeth problems, skin problems and even allergies. I had my teeth fixed but I got psoriasis from pregnancy over big areas of my body and as a first grade teacher I get a lot of looks from parents who don't want their kids to touch me. I get angry when they 'touch' themselves up and they KNOW that it's going to influence young people to try to achieve that when they can't achieve it themselves

My mom also lost her teeth during pregnancy. Hormones made the irritation and pain unbearable and she had them all removed. But, she has the best personality. She takes out her dentures and puts on silly wigs. For Halloween, she dresses as a witch and scares all her grandchildren by telling them she's going to chew them up. This has them screaming and running and giggling until they realize she doesn't have any teeth. She's a trooper about it. It's endearing that she uses it in her favor and personality.
Once a guy tried to rob her, so she took out her teeth and threw them at him. It sent him running.
She and Dad giggle about it a lot. Dad also has dentures. Mom's still incredibly beautiful. We were cruel kids though. Not about her looks. We got a kick of exchanging their dentures at night and waking up to Mom and Dad yelling and rounding us up after they realized they had each other's dentures again.

I have never wore makeup in my life I'm 62-year-old female. But my daughter wanted to wear makeup which is fine ,but since I didn't know how to put it on I couldn't teach her .I sent her to Barbizon so she can learn to do makeup properly. She all so tough her friends how to put on makeup properly as well. More than worth it to me .

I was starting to have issues with how I looked a couple years ago because snapchat filters would change my face shape n all that sorta stuff and it made me hate how I looked without filters so I decided to delete the app and only use my actual phone camera for selfies instead to try and push past the insecurities those filters gave me. I still have bad days sometimes but I'm managing to embrace my real face more these days.
