Andrea has the voice of an angel; I love this performance. His blindness is simply a part of him. He keeps his eyes closed, while many blind performers wear sunglasses. It doesn't detract from his artistry or the beauty of his music. I suspect he sees far more than many people whose eyes can see.
I can't stop playing this amazing song, it's so beautiful and I've never watched an opera in my life but this song made may watch Verdi's classic and I found it so sad 😔 BRAVO!!!!!
I thought that also, I also found it sad, a very interesting contrast with this joyful masterpiece at the beginning, but I guess the ending being sad adds more meaning to the lyrics and to this piece, at least they had fun before the tragedy.

of course he can sing anything he wants. anyone can do that. but it doesn't mean he's singing it well. I'm no opera snob (this is the only opera I like) but even I can tell he's just skating by. with him the lyrics are just one long mumble without any enunciation.
He's not a bad singer by any stretch of the imagination, there are just better singers out there which might not be apparent to people who don't listen to as much opera

Accendo il computer, quando youtube mi propone questi video non vedo nient'altro nello schermo quindi procedo, già dalle prime note sento un certo sapore a casa, poi quando gli artisti pronunciano le prime lettere del testo quel sapore a casa si trasforma in una voglia di cantare a squarcia gola, la allegria mi avvolge, gli artisti giungono a quel acuto finale mentre il mio cuore si ferma per un istante nel tentativo di esplodere in quel finale con l'estensione di due ottave. Ma cosa mi succede? È amor di patria, Italia ti amo.

It's a big difference between Andrea Bocelli with Angela singing this aria then Angela and Ramos Vargas singing recently same aria from La Traviata at La Scala di Milano. I just bought the DVD blu-ray and I was not impress. I guess not always you got to coose your partener. I've always been overwelm by Andrea Bocelli. He's a great follower of Pavaroti. Viva Italia!
His voice is clearer than most tenors. This piece is high art. I think this is opposite to Bohemian Rahpsody, better to drink and love rather than celebrate suicide
Nobody is preventing Bocelli from singing what he likes or others enjoying it. It all has to do with what we consider as operatic sound. This changes from time to time. The sound created by people like Bocelli or (Sarah) Brightman is not considered opera sound by present day standards. Standards in music and fine arts are necessary for the sake of cultural preservation. They define what we are as cultured people. I detest populism that lowers the standards set forth by generations of masters.

Bi pa rad napisal za bodoče pevce tole misel opernega pevca ( Ado Darian 1895- 1966) o higieni petja, da naj se posveti študiju le kdor je zdrav, kajti za svež glas je pogoj zdravo in krepko telo. Močno oprsje, zdravi dihalni organi, zdravo in dobro raščeno grlo, svoboden jezik, sproščena spodnja čeljust, zdravo zobovje. Bodoči operni ali koncertni pevec pa mora imeti tudi ustrezajočo zunanjost in zdrave živce. Predvsem pa mora biti muzikalen, imeti mora izrazit posluh in čut za ritem ter dober spomin. S študijem pa si mora pridobiti splošno in glasbeno izobrazbo.
