I don’t fill titles out often, but when I need to, I’m always nervous about making a mistake since, as you mentioned, the Register won’t accept altered changes. Your video helped lessen the anxiety. Thank you for the tip on erasable pen!
I'm so happy rn and thanks to Cyber Credible it was difficult filling out my car title I just got a Mercedes for the dealership and they left me to fill everything without experience...
This is the first time I find I RUclips video that doesn’t make you lose your time and give you what you are looking for . Thank you very much for this video. I am going to subscribe right away.
Helpful video I really liked the explanation and examples. Are you going to release on how to fill out the registration and title application form too?
This video was and is still extremely helpful as I'm now learning how to purchase a vehcile from a private party. Can you please make the video on how to avoid tax on the private sale?
That's the easiest part! Just go onto the RMV website & download the gift form from a non family member & you'll only have to pay $25.00! Only if it's from a private seller, you can't avoid sales tax from a dealer unfortunately. Hope this helps? It's helped me many times & its completely legal too 😊
Awesome vid! QUESTION!! If I bought a vehicle and the title says Odom discrepancy, and miles on the front are listed as 9,999,999, will that prevent me from being able to register the vehicle if the seller stated the correct mileage on the back of the title? Should they have checked one of the two corresponding boxes? Any help is greatly appreciated, I’m headed to the rmv tomorrow morning, had to wait two weeks for an appointment lol Thank you!
What would you do if the top part was already filled out and you wanted to sell in private party? As if you were selling it to the second or third owner? Is there another way to transfer ownership on the title?
Thank you so much for this clear information and bill of sale too!!! I will buy the pen just. to support you if you are an affiliate. Link for pen does not go to a listing that I can add to my cart. You may want to update your link.
Thanks for this video and the links. One question, is the address of the buyer the same as the seller in this example? If not, it looks like you wrote in the address of the seller where you were supposed to write in the address of the buyer.
Thanks so much for the clarity on this! Planning to use this for my first used car buy in MA. Does the same RMV registration rule apply for someone residing out of the state of MA (even though purchasing the car in MA? Btw, I’m in MD) Or would they register the title afterwards in their state?
Hi Jeriel, if you plan on registering the car outside of MA then fill out the title the same way I show in the video. You might need a separate registration form in your state. I recommend calling your states Registry of Motor Vehicle and ask.
I buy a car (2006) do I need a bill of sale to register it and title it to my name or can I go only with the Rmv-1 form and the title of the previous owner?
I'm wondering if you intend to have someone else register the car for you but they wont be there when you purchase the car can you say for example "Patrick or Sandy" and sign only Patrick. Also im from New Jersey and buying a car with a Mass title any recommendations?
Great video - thanks! We just bought out a lease where myself and my cousin are listed as the purchases. However, want to process this so at the end of it its just her solely as the owner but Chase name both myself and my cousin. Do we have to submit this and do another title transfer afterwards? How do I get myself off?
How do i avoid the sales tax and how do I find that market value that the registrar uses? DO I as the seller have to fill out the RMV1 form and/or make sure the buyer does? Or can I leave once I have gotten the payment and given them the filled out title and bill of sales document? Thanks.
I have an atv I'm wanting to sell and have never sold anything privately before. The atv was given to me by my father in law and his name is listed as purchaser on the 2nd reassignment dealer only portion. How and where do I sign to release the atv onto the new seller? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!! I looked inside your channel for the video on tax information but i don't see the link or found it in your video section, any chance that video still available? Thank you!
Thank you for this video. I have a question. My aunt recently paid cash for a car from a dealership. She hasn’t registered or done anything to it. But now she wants to sell it to a friend. What is the process. Can she just use the same title or she has to go get a new title before she can sell it.... please let me know. Thanks
Hi Daniel, your aunt would need to title the vehicle at the RMV first, she will be charged sales tax (6.25% in MA). Then it takes 2 to 3 weeks for the new title in her name to get mailed to her. At this point she can resell the vehicle.
Thanks. I had to use this video as reference today and was more than informative. Can you do a video on How To Fill Out a MA Registration and Title Application!?. I’ve never had to fill one out before lol
Will the registry check the odometer when the buyer goes to register and title the vehicle? Also, is a bill of sale required if the vehicle is given as a gift to an immediate family member?
Hey , so how should the rear be signed if the owner of the title is "Eli Cleaning Service Inc" for an example? Private party sale. Would the print name and signature of "Eli Cleaning Service Inc" be written?
I am looking into purchasing a car from a private party. The person has to travel back to his country for visa issues, he has left his car with signed title with one of his friend. Had couple of questions in mind: 1. Since the owner is not locally present in the country, I wont be able to get him to sign a Bill of sale. Can that pause a challenge during title transfer and registration (from RI to MA) ? 2. What all should i double check before buying this vehicle ? 3. What can i do to ensure that car wont fail the MA inspection after buying it, since it will be required for title transfer to my name ? 4. Since I wont have the car registered on my name on day-1, I guess I can't take out the car from sellers home to mine without registeration and number plate. How do i go about it ?
Thank you! I'm from MA. and want to buy a used car, but I don't want to drive it right away. Is there a way to register the car, but not get plates or insurance? I want to buy a 70 LeMans, tow it to my house and restore it.
I'm not a dealer, and I am selling my 5th wheel camper which is currently titled and registered in Massachusetts. It is basically an unpowered trailer with a small house on it that is moved only by a separate tow vehicle. It doesn't have an odometer and I have no idea what it's over-the-road mileage might be. When signing over the title to the new owner, what should I do with regard to the Odometer reading section on the back of the MA title? Thanks.
Question?I am buying a car from someone who has a title and bought it at the end of his lease. The Bank leased the lien and signed. The question is does he first have to register the vehicle in his name at the registry before he can sell it to me or can we just fill the title as you did.Greatly appreciated.
Hi Michael, if he bought out his lease and has the title then you can just fill out the title as shown in my video. Just make sure there is no liens on the front of the title.
Spiro my title has nothing under lienholders because when i paid off my car they just mailed me the title, still ok to sell the car right? No first lienholder or release of first lien filled out

Whose address goes in the address section? I noticed that you turned the paper over to spell "conch" correctly. Are you putting in the seller's address?
Im still confused on this question because im selling mine tomorrow and need to know the correct way of doing this. On the video you put Patrick's name but used Spongebob address from the front of the title. This needs to be clarified or the process will be wrong and denied. So do i put the purchaser's address on the back of the title?? Thx.
@@SpirosAutomotive This is misleading. This is supposed to be the Seller's Address according to the Mass RMV site not the Purchaser's address as you've mentioned. Which is right?
