Two years ago when my daughter got married, she wanted to display all of the wedding dresses from our family members. We found dresses dating back to the 1910s! The two from the 1950s had the same kind of brown staining as the nurses' uniforms that you found today. I filled a large Rubbermaid tub with cold water and OxyClean powder and soaked those dresses for about 5-7 hours each. I rinsed them in cold water and hung them in the sun to dry. They came out like NEW! You might want to try this method on the uniforms and lab coats.
I love the wedding dress story! That is a great way for old dresses to be shown again. So creative! I have OxyClean liquid, I'll have to try that with the tub and soaking!
I am a retired nurse, and those old uniforms are older than the 60's I would think, because all our uniforms were short sleeved, white and not as long. I graduated from nursing school in 1965. I imagine that since there was no A/C in the 50's, they cut the sleeves of for coolness, but that's just a guess. Stay safe everyone.
I am now addicted to mystery trash bag videos. I'm starting to think this could turn in to a serious problem for me. I have a feeling every time I see a trash bag sitting out on the curb, I'm going to want to bring it home with me, lol. Another great video!!! This particular video hit close to home for me, considering I'm a nurse and once upon a time I was a ballerina as well. Can't wait for the next video. By the way thank you so much for replying to a comment I left last week, it totally made my day. I was so excited, that I had to call my husband at work to tell him about it, lol. I'm pretty sure I mentioned it to just about everyone that I had a conversation with that day, lol. Keep up the good work and best of luck to you!
I'm really enjoying these trash bag videos! It's like opening a present and not knowing if you're going to like or hate what's inside! It'll be sad when people get busy again and stop cleaning out their houses! LOL
Oh those toe shoes the ballerina shoes I kept mine since I was a teenager and 45 and the fur is lambswool and we used to pack it in the toe so that our toes would not bleed as much those are beautiful that’s so sad they didn’t keep them
Sometimes I wonder why people throw away things, but then again, you never know if they've lost someone that the items belonged to, or if the memory of the items was too psinful for them, so they'd rather not jave them around. A reason, a season, kind of thing... .
Your a very great picker i like all of the sames items you do you found neat glasses specticles are they for sale and if so ehere would i find them ? Id love to have them broken or not ? Best of luck treasure hunting !
My mother retired from nursing in the early Seventies and was an RN since before WWII. How professional the nurses looked in their white uniforms, caps, shoes, and hose! I wish I had one of her old uniforms. Glad you are going to work with them. The turquoise heels are so like what she wore to my wedding in 1970.
Just binge watched the whole "Mystery Bags of Trash" saga up to this point. I'm all in! I can't wait to see what's in those last two bags of trash! Makes me wonder if this is how raccoons feel every day?
I used my unforms for paint covers..Ha Ha and before that My first heels shoes I put a good silk stocking in the shoe and filled with sand tie to the shoe Glued some paper flowers at the tie and used the show for a door stop Granny 90 now...Love you videos You are so happy to be doing this...love.
Oh I'm loving these secret bin bag dives. I hope you find the match to that cute slider with the flower on the front and the ballet shoe. The ballet shoe is a great decor item. I can't wait to see how those uniforms turn out once washed. They look really pretty. Thanks for sharing and stay safe x
My mother was a nurse back in the early 70's. She would cut the long sleeves back to make them 3/4 long to avoid getting them wet from washing her hands so often, and to prevent body fluids from transferring onto her uniform.
Those shoes look like they’ve been rolled flat with a rolling pin! Awww they are so vintage and so cool if they were wearable. It’s thrilling to watch what will come out of the bag!
I am a nurse and I got my grandmothers nursing hats (1940’s) when she passed. I starched one and wore it to work one Halloween. It was so fun glad we don’t have to wear the dresses.♥️
Love looking threw all this stuff ! Keep the shoes you like you might find the match in another bag ! Did you go back to the house you got all these bags at they might have put more out ! Thanks for being here for us at this time ! I look forward to visiting you ! You ‘re like visiting with one of my daughters ! So glad I found you on-line it’s fun , bye for now Aunt Lisa
Renee put the soft shoes on the washing machine on delicates x. I did ballet when I was younger and at 12 I was allowed to wear my first blocks and they still hang on my bedroom wall x
Our mall in Exton Pa. is almost dead now....it is very sad. All those good memories are gone. I really liked the idea of examining the merchandise before I bought it......
Renee, you look like those dolls. The outfit from nurse New York is top of the line Nursing universities. They are top notch. The other top notch are war nurses and doctors. By no comparison to one another war nurses & doctors are above and beyond in trauma centers.
I want to see what's in the bag but more importantly I want you to be safe . Im pretty sure you're around my girls age by the memories you have - Take care!
I think these bags are for two women. One a younger lady that loved to travel and swim. Lived the high life for a period of time. Then the other women would be like the mother??? The nurse that worked hard for a long time to pay for the younger ones escapades. She scrempt and saved. She cut up of uniforms to patch up the others as needed doing. Or pieces of uniform were re used for other crafts. Back in my day we didn't throw old clothes away. Keep in a trunk. We saved good fabric to make doll clothes with. Make quilts. An even for putting together holiday costumes. Boys would always need patching up of playing time cloths. On a story about shoes. My sister was planning her sons graduation from one of his degrees at university. She had bought and planned her outfit. She didn't buy shoes till the end. She had a ton of shoes. Some in nice boxes stored away. She dug up a nice pair they went so beautifully with the special day outfit. So on busy day we all got up and dressed nice for a full day of activities. Some time after the major events we were walking out of arena and her shoes literally fell apart while walking back to car. The old glue in the shoes just came apart. The heel crumbled and the fabric dis attached from the sides. It was hilarious. They had only lasted 4 hours. Note to self
This exact thing happened to me after a work function. Wore some heeled sandals I hadn’t worn in ages, they went great with my tailored shift dress. Fell apart when I got back to the office...
I think the shoes are mother and daughter, too. Daughter couldn't bear throwing her mother's things all away. I would probably be around the daughter's age now, about 70.
They don't make shoes like they use to. A lot of them start breaking down after a while even if you hardly wore them. A manufacturer of expensive shoes told me it is so they don't take as long to break down in the landfills. Could be so we have to buy shoes more often also. We live in a disposable world now.
Love your mystery bag haul . Lots of fun ! The nurse's uniforms would be perfect SUPER HERO costumes for Halloween this fall ...The little apron was probably for a dish detergent bottle ....made a lot of them one year for our craft booth : )
Yay another bag! Toe shoes are painful, the lamb's wool is for comfort. The Rhythm Step shoes are also dance shoes. I've done a lot of period work, I've never seen an overcoat worn by a nurse. Doctor's or lab workers, yes. Tfs keep happy and safe. 😊
I would love to see the nurse uniforms washed and hung up. Don’t be surprised that they need a lot of ironing. Not permanent press and a lot of work before they went on duty. Love your videos.❤️
New to your channel stumbled upon this trash bag series! It seems like this might have been part of a hoarders house cleanout. Considering how beat up the items were! Cool series! Cool finds!
Those Nurse dresses are probably desired. I remember when I was younger than 55 nurse's dressed up. The hat's identified their statuses. I loved the ballot slipper , that's what I pictured as you spoke about the teacher whom in her younger day's wore them to dance.
I love your videos ....I'm in Allentown pa. It looks like you are in Phila area outside the city with all the beautiful stone homes. I love ephemera no matter how I gotta find it!
Another interesting bag!! Can't wait to see what you find out about the nurses uniforms!! Maybe you'll find the other ballerina slipper in another bag!! That would be cool!! Take care!!
That little apron is actually a koozie of sorts from the 50’s. It went onto a coke bottle. My mom had a whole set. When Barbie came out we used them as Barbie aprons.
The uniforms will need some major soaking. Try Biz, they are all white so no worries there. The poor nurse looked like she worked somewhere very hot. Her poor shoes, stylish but flattened. The shopping bag would have been really cool if it were intact. Can't wait to see how things clean up and who she was or still is.
Renee, The discoloration on those white uniforms is mouse urine. Mice like to get in old fabric to make a nest. The one item you held up that was full of holes is where mice had been chewing. I do not think you will be able to clean those stains. Mouse urine and droppings are toxic. Please be very careful to either clean all surfaces those dresses touch and even your gloves or just throw them away. I collect vintage fabric and quilts and I see that type or mouse damage a lot and have never been able to clean the stains.
This was fun! My daughter is an RN. So enjoyed seeing the old uniforms. Can’t wait to learn history. Weren’t nurses so elegant in their starched, pressed uniforms? I feel you are safe from virus because these are so old. But take care.
I have given our local community theater vintage clothing to use in their plays. I would love to see those nurse uniforms once you get them as clean as you can! I agree with another subscriber, soaking in OxyClean works wonders! Enjoy your channel!
A big ol bag of nasty. Lol. It would be interesting to see what you could find out about who wore these things in their better days. The nurses dresses looked too stained and yellowed to save though unless you are a miracle worker. Let us know how it goes if you do try to clean them. Also if you find out anything about the person. TFS 🌻🌼🏵️
I hope you'll show us the uniforms when you get them washed. Nice find. 2 of my aunts were nurses. Aunt Jessie was in St. Luke's in Cleveland, Ohio. Aunt Ruth was as Army nurse in WWII.
I've really been enjoying these videos, thank you. A couple thoughts; I think that blue child's dress might be a bit older than you think. It looked like it buttoned in the back, which wouldn't have been as common in the 80s. You also might want to check the white fabric scraps and sleeves carefully. Some nurse's hats don't look like you'd expect. My Mom had some that looked more like napkins when not folded and pinned. And last, if they're in decent shape, those blue curtains might sell well. Midmod lovers are often on the hunt for genuine textiles. Thanks again!
Those nursing uniforms look like circa 1950-1960’s. I went to nursing school in the mid 70’s and our school uniforms were not too far removed from that style, just short-sleeved. I remember thinking they were so old fashioned. Couldn’t wait to graduate and buy my own 😂.
@8:43 thought you were going to burst on in a guitar tune lol heard a guitar strum of sorts...yes save those nurses uniforms never know could be worth something!!! Looking forward to hearing what you find out about this person....thanks again for a another interesting video of trash days!!! HAGD Renee!!!!!
Keep the curtains, some vintage resellers may want to buy them! A New vintage clothing store recently (before lock down ) opened in my area and is decorated with that style, so there are people still looking, specially in L.A. I can't remember if you sell on eBay or other platforms.
Please once you wash nurses uniforms do share being a nurse myself I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Many times back in the day nurses would cut off sleeves during hot hours and resew on in the winter months keep safe
Oh yeah those vintage shoes ppl buy those even if there is only one to make ring holders out of them to sit on there bedroom dresser....or better yet you can make the ring holders out of them and sell them at your next flea markets or on Etsy or Ebay!!!
You did not really hold it close to the camera, but I am pretty sure that that ankle length boot was from a pair of "Beatle Boots" that were a fad in the late 60's. Maybe the mate to that and the ballet slipper will be in one of the next bags. And I agree, the uniforms are probably from the fifties or very early sixties. Compare to some on line nursing pics from that era. Great finds...but lots of laundry!!!
Is that a "mouse house" in the wall behind your hip ? Just curious. . . you could put a little door and some fairy chairs from dollar tree outside of it. Would be so cute 🐭🏡 TFS ✌Love mystery bags 💖 please do more 👍
Let's hit the LIKE button for Renee. She's getting close to another milestone!

Nutcracker xmas the ballet slippers for your holiday decore 👍
I love the wedding dress story! That is a great way for old dresses to be shown again. So creative! I have OxyClean liquid, I'll have to try that with the tub and soaking!
@@PaperandMoose That just might be the answer. Good luck.
Rebecca zanette, I was wondering about wash the clothing. Thank you!
"The rhythm is gonna get you" 🤣Your great humor is never lost on me...I love it😘

Thank you for all you did to help people 😁
My mother was an RN, and I recall that her uniforms and cap had to be starched and ironed!!
Kathy LeSage ohhhh what wonderful stories you could tell! I’m a nurse as well, graduated in 2004! Lol
This must have been a special lady. A traveler, nurse, ballerina and snappy dresser. Love the shoes.
I am now addicted to mystery trash bag videos. I'm starting to think this could turn in to a serious problem for me. It's like getting a response from a celebrity! Renee's our celebrity! I'm sure it will give her a good laugh!!
Hi! The “tiny apron” fits a dishwasher liquid bottle. Makes for a cute sink! 😀
I remember those.
I would love to see you model some of the clothes you’ve found or at least show us what they look like after being laundered.
My thoughts as well. Or what she used to clean the stains, etc. Or how she did it?
I'm really enjoying these trash bag videos! It's like opening a present and not knowing if you're going to like or hate what's inside! It'll be sad when people get busy again and stop cleaning out their houses! LOL
Oh those toe shoes the ballerina shoes I kept mine since I was a teenager and 45 and the fur is lambswool and we used to pack it in the toe so that our toes would not bleed as much those are beautiful that’s so sad they didn’t keep them
I realized after the wool was supposed to be in there. I wish the other slipper would have been in the bag, they are so pretty!
Sometimes I wonder why people throw away things, but then again, you never know if they've lost someone that the items belonged to, or if the memory of the items was too psinful for them, so they'd rather not jave them around. A reason, a season, kind of thing... .
These bag videos are the best. Some really cool things and clothes. Be cool to see all the clothes washed up.
Renee please show us what the nurses' uniforms look like then they are cleaned.
I was going to ask the same thing , I'd love to see what they look like
I was going to ask that too !
Well, I was thinking that as well. And how many uniforms did you find. Perhaps there could be some more in the other bags.
Yes, please!
I'm guessing one is going to turn out to be sleeveless.
I am so grateful to be able to logon and see a video posted by you. It is always fun trash picking.
I'm so glad I found your channel. I love looking for treasure and I'm so lonely right now. Your videos really make my day.
Glad you found the channel Christine! Hope you enjoy watching many more videos!
The nurses uniforms would make for great Halloween costumes this year, out of respect for all they do....♥️

Great video! Thanks Renee👍🏻🙋🕊️🕊️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
It would be nice to see what the clothes look like after being washed.
Just binge watched the whole "Mystery Bags of Trash" saga up to this point. I'm all in! I can't wait to see what's in those last two bags of trash! Makes me wonder if this is how raccoons feel every day?
I like your raccoon theory!
Love the curtains (blue) great fabric for reupholstering! I'm jelly!!!!
I love the blue curtains.
Love the blue curtain material. If it's washable it should sell in your shop to crafters. Fun finds Renee. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Little girl dresses, adorable! Take care, Renee. 💓
The last part it was great! He was singing

The shoes. In bag 3 those heels are coming back in style don't be so quick to toss them.🤩😊
Love the shoes and nurse uniforms love to see them when they are clean and the year they worn them take care
Yes. The well dressed, Nurse Ballerina. Books could be written. Thanks for the video, P&M. Keep 'em coming.
My mother was a nurse back in the early 70's. She would cut the long sleeves back to make them 3/4 long to avoid getting them wet from washing her hands so often, and to prevent body fluids from transferring onto her uniform.
Makes sense!
Those shoes look like they’ve been rolled flat with a rolling pin! Awww they are so vintage and so cool if they were wearable. It’s thrilling to watch what will come out of the bag!
Maybe the other ballet slipper is in another bag.
great again, the ballet slipper has lambs wool in the toe. After you clean up the nurses uniforms will you show them to us.
I am a nurse and I got my grandmothers nursing hats (1940’s) when she passed. I starched one and wore it to work one Halloween. It was so fun glad we don’t have to wear the dresses.♥️
Nice finds. Those little girl dresses are adorable
Omgosh!!! Looks like a little girl's apron!!! So sweet!!! I love aprons like that!!! They make baked goods taste better, too, lol!!!🤗👍💖
I believe it was your first trash bag that had a nurse's uniform. I had that exact one in 1968.
Love these surprise bags. Thank you😻
Renee put the soft shoes on the washing machine on delicates x. I did ballet when I was younger and at 12 I was allowed to wear my first blocks and they still hang on my bedroom wall x
Those little aprons also went on dishwashing liquid bottles. My mother-in-law made them for all of us girls. Good memories. ♥
Glad you drug those home!
Hi, like cute clothes you find and some jewelry. Plates too. Treasure trove. Mrs. Allen
Can’t wait to find out what you find in your research! Those nurses uniforms are so sweet! Waiting for notification on your next one!! Woohoo!
The blue curtains would be cute made into pillows 😊
Our mall in Exton Pa. is almost dead now....it is very sad. All those good memories are gone.
I really liked the idea of examining the merchandise before I bought it......
You are going to cross the 20,000 subs milestone very soon! Yeah!
I am holding my breath Rick! It has been a nail-biter the last week or so. I have some great garbage finds to thank!
Renee, you look like those dolls. The outfit from nurse New York is top of the line Nursing universities. They are top notch. The other top notch are war nurses and doctors. By no comparison to one another war nurses & doctors are above and beyond in trauma centers.
Well loved shoes!
I want to see what's in the bag but more importantly I want you to be safe . Im pretty sure you're around my girls age by the memories you have - Take care!

Fun video to watch. Would love to see a video with the nurse uniforms after you tend to them. Stay safe!
The wool in the toe box is now pointe shoes are worn! So cool
Live the nurses uniforms and all the old shoes. I hope the nurses cap is in another bag you picked up. ..and the ballet slipper.
Can't wait to hear the story behind the uniforms . 👍☺
I would love to see the nurse uniforms washed and hung up. Don’t be surprised that they need a lot of ironing. Not permanent press and a lot of work before they went on duty. Love your videos.❤️
OHMYGOSH @ THE RHYTHM IS GONNA GET YA!!! BAHAHA!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
When I see you sitting on your porch with the Wisahickon shist wall behind you , I get homesick.
Close to 20,000 subbies!
It's curtains for you, Renee! Curtains! :)
Have fun doing your research. I can't wait to see a uniform cleaned and pressed.

The ballet point slipper has lambswool in the toe. This cushioned the ballerina s toes once on point
Fun, fun!
That little apron is actually a koozie of sorts from the 50’s. It went onto a coke bottle. My mom had a whole set. When Barbie came out we used them as Barbie aprons.

Those nurses uniforms were what we wore back in the day when I first trained... Starched daily!!! LoL
I have my daughter’s toe shoes....they wrapped their toes in wool to help shield the toes...thanks for sharing...stay safe

Those nurses uniforms would be great as vintage adult Halloween costume
I've really been enjoying these videos, thank you. A couple thoughts; I think that blue child's dress might be a bit older than you think. Toe shoes are stuffed with lamb's wool to cushion for the ballerina toes.
Love teal blue color even though I am a total clutz in heals ...I have teal Converse...lol
could those things that look like sleeves be nursing hats? I think they use to just pin them together to make the hat.
Keep the curtains, some vintage resellers may want to buy them! A New vintage clothing store recently (before lock down ) opened in my area and is decorated with that style, so there are people still looking, specially in L.A. I can't remember if you sell on eBay or other platforms.
At least 1 was a shower curtain.
Please once you wash nurses uniforms do share being a nurse myself I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Many times back in the day nurses would cut off sleeves during hot hours and resew on in the winter months keep safe
That makes sense! Wish I would have found the nurse cap!
I would like to see the nurse jackets after you wash them . See how clean they get .
Those looked like 70's shoes to me.
Yes, but the light brown stacked heels look older.
Compare to some on line nursing pics from that era. Great finds...but lots of laundry!!!
Is that a "mouse house" in the wall behind your hip ? Just curious. . . you could put a little door and some fairy chairs from dollar tree outside of it. Would be so cute 🐭🏡 TFS ✌Love mystery bags 💖 please do more 👍
How well did the uniforms clean up??? Have you shown them already? Would love to see them.
Looking forward to details on the nurse
