The false Primarch, was a Primarch, it was Alpharius' and Omegons' secretive triplet brother called Epsilonius, who had a similar mindset to the Khan regarding the Emperor being a tyrannical dictator and fled not wanting to bend the knee; during his escape he stole various chapters gene-seed and subverted some of the Mechanicus and Knight houses to his cause, before fleeing to distant regions to create his own dynasty; the Veiled Regions, his ultimate plans known only himself!*

Honestly, I think then Veiled Regions are just an area set aside/reserved in case Games Workshop ever wants to introduce a new major faction controlling a decent sized swath of space without it massively disrupting past lore.

I think a lot of times people underestimate just how large this Galaxy is, Honestly we're talking about almost two hundred thousand lightyears across and it could have anywhere up to 100 billion stars, now not all of them will have planets but even if half of them do and out of 50 billion stars if each had just 1 planet that's still 50 billion fucking planets when the imperium alone controls and lays claim to only a million, thas less than 1% of the real estate of the galaxy! There could be civilizations that survived the dark age of technology and the age of strike and they could have a massive solar Empire, and the imperium would never even know. Because I just haven't discovered it because of how big a fuggin galaxy is! The nids have eaten and chewed their way to our doorstep but I have a feeling that we will soon find that there is a robotic empire other then neuron that can combat the nids with drone swarms and nanomachines. Like an actual virus made of self replicating nanotechnology and if that shit hits the ground running it will be far worse then the hivemind.
So that's where the UNSCs been hiding

I like to think the false Primarch was a *Primarch;* a Thunder Warrior Primarch a man who was stronger than any space marine a man who had survived the culls. Back when the Thunder Warriors marched on Terra Primarch was a rank it would make sense why he was such a threat if he survived custodians and had a history of commanding men.
Good idea. Unfortunately thunder warriors didn't have a long life. This was engineered by the emperor. They were not near immortal like the astartes. They wouldn't be around by this conflict.

It's possible a small handful survived the conflict and stayed in service used as frontline troops - that one was a commander and defected like everyone else the Emperor has ever known, or how we're told astartes dont get created as adults because there's a lower survival rate, similar to primaris marines - but lower still seemingly means some, he could have undergone the augmentation process later in life@@davidmiller1354

My theory for the False Primarch war is very simple. One day a writer for GW thought the name sounded cool so they threw it into something as theorybait because 90% of fluff is written to be a mystery for the sake of being a mystery.

I remember someone saying Malcador was likely born near the end of the Golden Age, like around M25, due to the purpose of the order of the Sigillites. He wasn't with the Emporer during ancient human history. I think it was mentioned in a Luetin video

I thought he was born earlier. We know from the book lore that he was with the emp for a long time and he matches 1-1 with the “wandering jew” legends, when you factor in that e-boi is the biblical anti-Christ and vampire ff protag is Christ it makes you wonder if Malchador is the beast in the pit

That time when they found a map of old Earth (as in what it looks like today, not Terra in the future) on an alien planet with no discernable explanation of what it was doing all the way out there is pretty wierd. I don't think they ever explained that.
I dont think it was another xenos that made that map. It was more then likely human made, probably from one of the first group of generation ships that left Earth. Or since it was the Emps who recognized it, he made it. Just lied to everyone. Or it was whoever was with him when he went into the realm of chaos to talk with teh gods cuz wasnt that mural on Molech?

I think a great plot GW could do would be for Guilliman to attempt to revive the emperor by killing him and letting his perpetual status kick in, but in doing so, all of the emperors psychic mental blocks are cut, and people suddenly remember who the missing primarks are and what happened when the emperor took an army to a system then deleted the memories of it
I still think the emperor hid the lost primarchs and their legions to be used again in the future. He then pulled an Indian Jones “TOP MEN!” Whenever someone thought to ask about them so the powers of chaos would have a helluva time finding them.
If the emperor dies, the solar system is immediately overrun by daemons, so I say go for it
The imperium would screech to a halt because the golden throne is the only thing allowing navigators to traverse the warp with any certainty
Nah that's not really how 40k works, basically all space travel and warp protection would fail, the golden palace would be invaded by demons almost instantly and theoretically some bad shit would happen to all Imperium Psychers
This would quite literally be 40k End Times material, and I don’t think anyone is looking forward to the new “revelations” & “character closures” (ie potential character assassinations) that this would entail..
I could imagine Malcador confiding his darkest secrets through text and storing it with the Terminus Decree. After all, if the decree is being used, who cares if the secrets get out because it's probably the end of the galaxy anyway.
The veiled region is the place where all the pleasure worlds of Emperor and Sigilite are while the rest doesnt realise that the whole Imperium is but a prank.

For the war of the false primarch its good to remember there's a book. Were a blood angels grows wings and becomes primarch like. Starts believing their the reincarnation of sanguinius, turn out its was fate weaver trying to turn the blood angels to chaos.
It's in the novellas _Deus Encarmine_ and _Deus Sanguinius-_- part of _The Blood Angels Omnibus_ written by James Swallow.
Or- read the whole _Brother Rafen Saga_ written by the same author.
BTW- it wasn't a Fate Weaver... it was a full-on _Zeetchian Demon_ working through a corrupted member of the Ordo Hereticus.

In all honesty Malcador was always my favorite character in 40k. Not because I know a lot about him but simply because he was so damn powerful. Also the way he died was just... I can't even put it into proper word. The man is just simply the best.

What I meant is the way he died, the amount of absolute dedication to the emperor and what he stands for, that is what makes him the best for me. In Magisterium, Valdor or maybe one of the other custodians reflects on having to take out another sorcerer on the level of Magnus. Maybe one of the missing primarchs? Cuz we all know that each primarch role is redundant and we only have one "sorcerer" primarch in Magnus.

Could the false Primarch just be a missed Sensei? One so powerful his Psyker aura had a similar effect to a Primarch's aura, or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure Senseis have been completely purged from the lore, but they were a thing once.

The Tyranids, the Necrons or the Ghoul stars, just some examples for what lurks in the Dark.
One day, when Chaos is thriving back, something else will take it's place as the arch enemy to our existence.

Why was Malcador the Hero needed to fulfill the darker roles in the Imperium when the emperor without him destroyed the last church & committed so many atrocities. But in the time of the Imperium it's Malcador everyone looks at as the schemer
That's exactly why. With Malcador doing his dirty work, it's easier for the Emperor to look as if his hands are clean.
Well that's actually a horrible thought... because the things the emperor did were nearly nothing compared to what malcador got up to. By the time of the actual imperial bits seem to have started to leak. Given the story we just got of the sigilite working hard to keep himself sane he was dealing with some truely "beyond morality or sanity" level kind of stuff.
The mere fact that it can objectively be called a sin should tip you off to that

To be fair I think every sane person looks at Malcador and the Emperor as the same level of schemer Malcador just looks and acts the part more.

The Veil Regions seem very interesting, hearing more of such places would be awesome. especially if they are around important locations.

Your 40k mysteries videos are the best. 40k's setting is so over the top brutal that things like Chaos and all the xenos factions seem a little mundane. The real creepy stuff is the unknown, the poorly explained, and the things that avoid the limelight.
Areas such as The Veiled Region offer a vast amount of novel and lore wealth potential, anything can lurk there. For example, maybe a certain Night lord first captain disappeared there, etc etc. The list of possible stories and such are endless.
Malcadors secret was: It was he... it was always he... that was trying to reach you about your Knight Castellan's extended warranty.

I kind of thought that the False Primarch was an allusion to the events involving Rafen and his brother from the Blood Angels trilogy but sending the Flesh Tearers and Charnel Guard against them in that situation wouldn't make sense. It would make sense for it to be covered up though given just how those events came to pass.

Well the full story would just be Warcrime simulator 30K but we'll 100% never get it all if we even get like tiny scraps beyond what we have now.
Maybe lil hints or something but his past is supposed to be horrific monstrous and unknown because I doubt anything could really live up to the kind of shit Malcador has clearly done. And if it DOES live up to it....well that will just be a depressing and soul crushing read. No one will come out of that happy they read it I'm sure
Even knowledge can bear the taint of the Warp in 40k. Wouldn't be surprised if many of the secrets Malcador shared also carried a metaphysical burden, ones which literally gnawed at Wyntor's soul. Hopefully Malcador at least spared him the knowledge that his soul would be claimed by Slaanesh to sate his gluttonous appetite for Aelderi before his end.

REQUEST: More Grim Dark Storytime!
The Veiled Region and the rules surrounding it sound suspiciously like the planet where Pike lived out his final years in Star Trek. A place that is absolutely forbidden, not because of dangers or threats, but because of temptation. Perhaps a surviving fragment of civilization that survived Old Night intact, which looked upon the Imperium as utter savages when they arrived. Proof that life doesn't have to be the way the Imperium lives it. Small enough that it would be overwhelmed by the sheer mass of refugees from the Imperium that would come flooding in if they knew that a better life was possible. The last bastion of humanity's golden age looking out on the galaxy and deciding that helping these savages wasn't worth the cost strikes me as appropriately grimdark.
