Mine needs replacing on my 2004 Sienna with 162K miles. Clunking began a few months ago but was mild and only seldom. Yesterday it was VERY loud when turning to the right and I noticed a strong pull to the passenger side until I turned the wheel left, then the pull was gone. As soon as I turned right again, same thing. Big clunk and pull to the right. Toyota wants $2500 to repair. I think that's excessive. I cannot do this myself so I must find another alternative.
I have a quote here for $1301 from an independent shop for complete replacement with tie rods, tie rod ends, new fluid and alignment. 3.2 hrs. labor it says. My '06 has 215,000 miles.
You make it look so easy. Would it be possible to take off the bolts that hold the sway bar if I don't have those right angle electric wrench and the car lift? Thanks
So I just installed a new steering rack, but I can't get the steering shaft to slide all the way on. I have about an inch to go, but no matter what I do, it won't slide down.
I don’t know why mines went out so quickly on 147000 miles normally racks last longer than that on Lexus there is a lot of play in the rack I have done a flush few years ago and it’s been top off with clean power steering fluid
What brand did you use , I’m currently looking at new cardone

Front wheel, it’s a very straight forward job maybe a hour or a little more for less experienced and yes Deff need an alignment
