2004-2010 Toyota Sienna Buying Guide Part 1 : Engine and Transmission

A Toyota master diagnostic technician shares his experience on common problems and things to look for when buying or owning a 2nd generation Toyota Sienna.
In the first part of this video I will cover the 2004-2010 Toyota Sienna Engines and transmission.
This van came with 2 engines the 3.3L 3MZ-FE Engine and the 3.5L 2GR-FE engine.
I discuss issues with valve cover gasket leaks, knock sensor and wire issues, coolant leaks on the 3MZ-FE engine and oil leaks.
On the 2GR-FE I will show an example of the 2GR-FE cold start rattle that could lead to engine damage caused by separation of the Variable Valve timing actuator or gear.
On the transmission and AWD system I will go over a few common leaks form the transmission and the transfer case.
