The drummer and the rest of the band were best friends since they were children. There were 5 of them. They became rockstars together. Then the drummer passed away 🥺

If you watch the video back, you'll see all the scenes with the younger versions of themselves were actually all true stories about them as kids (stealing beer, Jimmy drumming on everything everywhere they went, playing Matt's (their singer) parents garage, riding bikes and knocking over trash cans). Even the shots of the band at their present age for the video of them driving around is a call back to their first behind the scenes documentary of them driving around showing fans their home town, Huntington Beach. We really didn't think they would continue after Jimmy died but they did, and this song has been a comfort to so many of us ever since. RIP Jimmy, we miss you!

Their earlier albums were heavier the farther back you go. When drummer died, they were finishing an album. He had written all of the drum parts, but hadn't recorded them. Avenged Sevenfold got the drummers favorite drummer to record all of his drum parts. The song Fiction was recorded by the former drummer without the bands knowledge. He gave it to them a few days before he passed away. He had an enlarged heart, and knew he wouldn't live much longer. He recorded vocals, drums, and piano. It is him singing and essentially saying goodbye. The band only added the main singers vocals to a few parts. They have since added a new drummer, who everyone agrees is a perfect fit for the band, and most fans love. They made a new album last year, please react to "Cosmic", one of the most beautiful songs they've ever made 🙏
It was a drug overdose not an enlarged heart. I have an enlarged heart and I'm not going to die soon lol.
@@MrDarkblader97He died because he combined alcohol with sleeping pills and pills for a pain he had in his chest (probably due to his enlarged heart).

He went by The Rev, but his name was Jimmy Sullivan. He was known to everyone around him as a crazy yet amazing person who everybody loved. He was an amazing drummer who inspires many to this day including myself. Unfortunately he passed in December of 2009 from a drug overdose, but it was found that he also had an enlarged heart that would’ve taken his life within the coming years. FoREVer RIP
Yes, he died of an overdose, but not in the horrible way that is heard, he died by combining the pills he was taking for his heart with some pills to help him sleep and that mixed with alcohol ended up killing him
@@Gabiirev Yes it is true that pills mixed with alcohol is what killed him, but it is an unfortunate truth that he had a substance issue. This has been stated by people close to him including band members in the past. This isn’t to say that he took his life intentionally, his overdose was definitely an accident, but he had those drugs in his system because he had an addiction. I see many people come up with different theory’s on his death, it seems almost like some are in denial of his use of hard drugs.

This song was written by the lead guitarist for his grandfather who had passed away, but then the band's drummer and everyone's best friend, The Rev, passed away so the song is dedicated to him.

Before Avenged Sevenfold The Rev(the drummer) and Synyster Gates(Lead guitar player) was in a band called Pinkly Smooth. It was basically the Avenged Sevenfold before Avenged Sevenfold. Only catch was The Rev was the lead singer in the band. and oh my.... His voice was one of a kind. They had a very unique sound. The Rev also would sing some parts in a lot of Avenged Sevenfold songs. We miss him a lot! Awesome Reaction btw! Enjoyed it thoroughly!
