Your work is so lovely... I wanted to make sure I thanked you for your content...im finding it's my first choice to view lately. Your gentle and informative commentary is an absolute joy. At the risk of oversharing, I've had some knee surgery so have found myself going through your channel as a soothing activity. Again..thank you and keep up the great work...both your process videos and product reviews are great viewing. ❤
This is so nice of you - thank you! I still can't really get over the fact people watch my videos at all!! Sorry about your knee - I've had surgery in the past (and am currently delaying having two new hips with injections - not what I envisaged for my 40's!), and it can be a slow, frustrating process. I really wish you well with it all!
@helencryer yes my knee replacement came as a shock to me too. However my anecdotal (only) advice would be that the recovery is swifter if you are coming from a fit and healthy position to begin with. I was downright terrified but am happy to say it wasn't nearly as bad as I had built it up to be. I now have internal serial numbers too lol
Yes absolutely!! I had to have a surprise abdominal total hysterectomy when I was a firefighter, and I got back to full fitness again afterwards and felt great! All the rehab exercises are worth it too!
Theyre both lovely. I made myself a plein air tin of oil pastels using my empty Rosa Gallery tin (i had to move them to a bigger tin similar to your pencil tin set up ). Ive been out and used them three times now and it's perfect. Im rattling through my pastels at a rate of knots though!😂 Hope you're feeling better now - spring is just around the corner and it's time for some serious plein air 😊
That sounds great! I actually put together an oil pastel tin after this too - in a Kendal Mint Cake tin! Yes - can't wait for warmer, drier weather and lots of outdoor painting!!
I agree, that second painting is gorgeous. The oil pastels really made the ocean come alive, I can almost hear the waves crashing on the beach. Beautiful, keep up the wonderful work!
Hi, Helen! Love the new piece :) The textures on the second one look amazing; what a great use of different supplies! Thank you for using our Mini Palette, I'm glad it's been useful
Both are lovely but your second piece is my favourite too! Beautiful moody sky and wild sea. I love your looseness and lightness of touch when layering different media. Mine usually ends up looking a tad heavy handed.......i need to practice more🤓
@@helencryer I tried pastel pencils, oil pastels & Polychromos today, was surprised how well they worked together, pleasing. On mi-teintes Ingres, thanks for the inspiration! Very enjoyable.
Hi Helen...we previously talked about Michael Harding watercolours. FYI Theyre on sale at the moment from the Sydney Art Store...not sure how the shipping costs would work out for you, but the exchange rate is good your way.

Thanks!
Beautiful and inspiring! Thanks...

Both are lovely, but the second is my favourite ❤. Looked like such a cold, windy day!
Thanks! Yes, it's been nuts weather!
Really like how you did the clouds on the second
Thank you!
I love the way you capture the movement of the water. It makes me want to paint.
Thank you! I'm glad!
Neat use of Gelatos and pastels!
Thanks!
Again, I love how you paint your wild skies
Thanks so much!
Both beautiful, particularly liked the sea with the white waves in the second one.
Thanks!!
Wow. These are fantastic. But I do agree as I think that the second one is awesome! Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!!
