That was beautiful! I loved all the pages in that journal. I would be interested in seeing more with granulating paints & ones you would recommend. I will say it looked a little scary to see you put the paint on the paper😂.
Yes,yes, yes! I just did this tutorial with the Daniel Smith Undersea Green, and really got some lovely yellow tones in the lighter values. Also got some very dark green, almost black values straight out of the tube.
Yes, I’m loving the granulating paints! Just ordered mine and I would really enjoy more tutorials with them. A pond with reflection of the trees would be gorgeous too! 😍
I love my granulating paints. I'm slowly collecting the Schminke ones. They are amazing for texture in landscapes and I always find a use for them. I'm fancying the Kuretake ones now as well! 😊
I love granulating colors, and your landscape came out beautifully. 2 years ago when I first started I bought a set of dollarama paint to see if I'd like it before I bought better paint, and they had the multi colors in one pan too, especially the pink and purple. It was so pretty but they were so chalky they just fell off the page once the dried, lol.
I bought these supervision paints a few months ago and im kid of wishing i got the set you got. Amazon US offered 2 i think. Ive got Blue Orange, blue violet and rubia purple. IM LOVING THESE LANDSCAPES!!! I know you mentioned getting back to your florals, but im digging these landscapes! Id love that purple landscape with flowing water as a tutorial! I cant get enough of the Gansai tambi either! I hope they make more!
The first color blue/brown reminds me of a waterfall. Painting landscapes is my passion, and I really enjoyed watching you play with the granulating colors. The painting turned out very nice. I personally think a series would be great.
I just got some of the Super Vision colors and I, too, am obsessed and was delighted to see that you had this video about them. I need to learn the best way to use them and love your suggestion to play. Thank you.
OOOHHH! Love these. I get a really good feeling from the orange Gensai color. it feels like a midnight snowy field with an old barn on a hill. Some figures walking in the darkened distance. I don't know why but that's the picture i get in my mind :-)
Some use Kuretake granulating for aquatic wildlife. If you can get them I would also recommend White Nights granulating paints which are also beautiful, plus they have some warm colors as well.
I think that first color that you used it's so pretty. Yes I like seeing these colors. Nice. I have never used or seen these colors before interesting 🤔. I like .😊.
I have been fascinated with granulating watercolor but haven't known how to effectively use them. I would be very interested in a series on how to better use them. Thank you for your inspiration and just keeping it real.❤
Just lovely. I've done a few of Sarah's atmospheric paintings and they are incredibly fun and satisfying. I'm in love with that super vision Rubia Indigo but can't find it. I'd love to see you paint with that. I think it might be fun to paint pumpkins with the gansai orange/green.
I adore granulation! Looking forward to this! I haven’t seen the ones you shared before. I would love to see you use the gansai tambi ones. I would just do a landscape as I don’t use traditional colours for that.
Love your videos! I’d like to see more about granulating colors but not necessarily the multicolor ones, just regular colors that granulate. (I’m new to watercolor). Thanks!
Exactly i agree with you 💯 playing...ive just been watercoloring a year..had i taken it so seriously i would of gave up.. by the way thank-you for being a part of my watercolor journey ✨️ you are a awesome teacher and part of that is experimenting..breaking out of our box..not being afraid to make a mistake..because we are always learning..and its only paper..lolwho does that remind you of..lol have a awesome evening 😀
I LOVE granulating colors. But have had no idea how to paint a picture with them. I do use them for abstract paintings, painting full pages to use for die cutting. Love the picture you painted here, If you use GC I will definitely try along with you.
Thank you for sharing your personal journal. Art play is important but hard to get started. I wish you would reintroduce your Mental Mondays to help with the winter blues.
Just ordered 6 more granulating & duochrome Daniel Smith colors last night from Blick - ♥️♥️♥️ 🥳. That top purple color on the right reminds me of orchids.
I recently got those gansai tambi paints and I am also obsessed with them! 😂 They make beautiful flowers! These paints really shine with a lot of water on the palette.
Use a LOT of water for the best effect. Then go over areas after if you want it darker. You did a little carnations video a while ago where this paint would work really well. The paint blooms in water in a beautiful way!
Love the colors! Particularly the blue/ brown. These remind of the Lindy's Magicals pigment powders. I'm going to test the Flat Magicals in a pallet to see how well they reactivate. Wanted to show a pic of some of my favorite colors, but not able to add photos. I do have a full 36 pan set of the Kuretake watercolors and a travel set of the Gansai Tambi. 😁
I would Love to see a series 🎨 I just bought 2 of the SuperVision sets (couldn’t decide lol) I think the scene that you did was gorgeous- green/ brown is inspiring. I am thinking of painting some Mushrooms, or a Barn, like others have shared, and maybe Brick type patterns
I love this viseo. I'm geting obsessed witb granulating and multicolour granulating mixes as well. Ive been considering the daniel smith primatek set. Id love to see those compared with the ones youve swatched in this vide too.
I think it's beautiful. I felt privileged to see your no-pressure, experimental space. It feels very relatable and encouraging. I was curious, do you make notes of your experiments in this sketchbook so that you know what you did or like/dislike about the experiment at the time? I had an art teacher in high school that encouraged us to make notes in our sketchbooks about our sketches. It's made a real difference when I've tried to figure out how something was done.
Hullo, Cheap Joe’s makes workbooks very similar to the old Arches workbooks. You get great watercolor paper with a sheet between for keeping notes or sketches for whatever you want !
Thank you for reminding us that we learn through play! Even as grown-ups!
Emma I would ❤ to see more granulating paintings…keep them comming 😊
Gorgeous . I'd paint and old rusty farm barn with the 3rd Gansai colour combination - it reminds me of corrugated iron.
I LOVE that idea!
Ohh or even an old rusty truck
Beautiful! I'd love to see more tutorials with these paints!
I love the granulating watercolors. Beautiful landscape with just a couple of paints. They are amazing.
Love experimenting with gran colours. Just bought a set so this is timely. Please do more of these. Hope you are feeling better.

Thank you for this introduction of granulating paints. I would use the GT for backgrounds for fairy forests.
I really liked seeing something like this. I, too, need to give myself permission to play more. It’s a good reminder; thank you! ♥️
Would love to see more of you using these kinds of paints for sure!
I like the turquoise with the brown and orange....looks good!

I love your channel. I've been doing watercolor for about a year now. Wish I had found you sooner.

Love the demo wish you would show a closeup of what you did to make the foliage brush( how it looks now)
Thanks so much for posting. I recently came across granular watercolors and have been wondering how they look like in a landscape painting. 😊
Merci, j'adore les aquarelles granuleuses, elles reflètent mieux l'environnement. Bonne année

The Gansai orange looks like it would do well painting a whimsical old car rusting away. Thanks for testing these out!

Schmincke has some nice super-granulated sets too!
I believe the Super Vision are dye based and extremely fugitive.
I love this viseo. I'm geting obsessed witb granulating and multicolour granulating mixes as well. Ive been considering the daniel smith primatek set. Id love to see those compared with the ones youve swatched in this vide too.
I would love to see all the colors used in a painting. Might they be good for the Northern Lights?
I think they're really interesting looking! I'd love to see more videos, but could you please discuss whether they are lightfast or not? Thanks.
