What a lovely scene, Helen! I think you did a wonderful job conveying the dramatic effect you wanted. I especially love the pop of green on that island - the contrast is stunning! Thank you for using our sketchbook
Nicely done Helen. As someone who lived close by to Marazion and still visits regularly I think this really captures the moodiness of the weather we have.
Hi Helen , for me , that video was a sentimental walk down Memory Lane . Back in the 70's I travelled your area extensively and at times my late wife accompanied me . At lunch time we would park near to where you took the photo sit in the car and gaze in awe at the foreboding beauty of St Michaels Mount while eating our pasties and a flask of coffee . Happy , happy days !! Bye the way , Is Mounts Bay Pasty shop still trading in Penzance ? Best pasties in the world !!! xx
Helen!! Your painting makes my heart sing!! I LOVE this one. Im just learning to use colored pencils with watercolor. Watching this sky and water- everything come to life is just amazing. Thanks so much for sharing! Susan in Az❤🏜️
I like how you blotted out the sky and added the mount on top. I’d probably have done the mount first and then tried to fit the sky around it haha….. actually that’s not completely true, it’s more likely that I’d look at the St Michael’s mount and think ‘nah, too complicated’ and not even try it!
Helen, The splashes of sunlight in the clouds, on the water, and on the distant mount really make this painting standout. Great work! ❤
Thank you!!
I really like how the buildings on the island emerge from the shadows😍
Thank you!
Beautiful and moody palette, love it😍 That pop of green is just💚👌🏼
Thank you!!
Just beautiful!
Thanks!

Hi Ânia! Thanks so much! It's a joy to work in - I'm finally treating myself to using it more often!
That patch of grass on the island really made the painting, really lovely. Keep up the beautiful work!
My favourite bit too - it would be too heavy otherwise!

Oh how fab! My husband would really like to live there one day, if he can drag me away from St. Agnes!

Very pretty… love using granulating colours for skies and water.
I didn't leave them delicate enough this time round, but love my granulating paints absolutely!
Absolutely amazing and as someone else commented breathtaking, beautiful piece of Art Helen xx
