When Raul Julia accepted this role he gave it 100% despite his health issues because his children loved Street Fighter.
The actor playing Chun-Li is still hot today. The Asian gene is no joke.
The movie had the best line ever..."QUICK! CHANGE THE CHANNEL!!!"
And of course the "for me it was Tuesday" speech.
& let's not forget: "You got... payed???"
@@Djordje_Jovanovic or maybe "Fat Boy THIS!!!"
OF COURSE!
@@Djordje_Jovanovic😂😂 Zangief realized he was working for free and getting ripped off the whole time Deejay was getting paid a freaking fortune.
Alan Noone's (worked on this game) mom was my art teacher when I was young, her class was filled with promotional posters of this game's / super turbo covers (specifically the 3do one if memory serves me right). it indirectly lead me into pursuing art seriously since that style was insanely cool to me, even though the game itself was bad im glad it came to be for that alone
With out watching the video. No SF1 is the worst Street fighter game ever, by far.
No way that game is great...Takes skill and is a long step away from what it became..
This game was hot garbage. It aligned with the movie.
No, SF2010 is the worst street fighter game
SF1 crawled so every other SF game could run. And SF the movie tripped and fell hard
The English localization of Street Fighter 2010 differs from the original Japanese release, changing the main character's identity and backstory in order to imply that he is the same Ken from the original Street Fighter@@KaitouKaiju
That intro goes hard.
(Poor Sagat getting jobbed in his intro.)
That’s actually hilarious that I gets punched in the face in his own intro😂😂😂😂
Fun Fact:
Incredible Technologies originally envisioned the game as "Street Fighter III" during early development. Planned characters included mostly the returning cast from the Street Fighter II series, alongside veterans and newcomers like Retsu, Geki (redesigned as a female character before Ibuki), Lee, Gunloc, Sheng Long and Mega Man, but they were scrapped early on and were never digitized.
This was due to Capcom informing Incredible Technologies to base their game on the movie Street Fighter: The Ultimate Battle (1994) and to leave the future Street Fighter III project to Japan's side of Capcom because they were too busy on currently releasing Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors' Dreams (1995) on the same year.
I remember playing it with my big SF fan cousin on the PlayStation, and I didn't feel anything. Win or lose it was the same. But the BGM, bro, that's a different story. The arcade version had the classic songs we know since forever, but with a cheaper sound and bland mixing. Saturn and PS versions, however, had a OST specially made for them, having the latest a better sound and production. They convey the urge for the fight and scalates to emotional turns that tells you a story. Some of them, such as Chun-Li's are also groovy af. The melodies stuck in my head until today, and I have a playlist I still hear from time to time.
JCVD; a Belgian man, as an American soldier with the stars and bars tattooed on his arm is preposterous
Kylie Minogue was sexy back in the day.
Big time. Especially in bio-dome.
I think she still clears the bar
Well the game was "bad" because it was unbalance and ai was unfair,
and when Capcom "fixed" it for home ports, they just made another
Super Streets Fighter 2 Turbo Remix with a dash of Alpha?,
with without the arcade's gameplay features or mechanics
and some moves changes from arcade's to the OG basics ones.
But Arcade had neat ideas and also secrets, as there was a hidden Super M.Bison.
It just needed a rebalance port and better framerate.
I guess the best port would be Mugen build
I agree.
The arcade version has its fans and it is still played to this day in Fightcade.
I have seen online matches, that game is fun!
That has to be your best ever "yeeeaaahhhh!" I think I've ever heard mate. Excellent content as always. I don't think the SFII coin-ops had only 16 colours on screen though pal - the megadrive versions are always derided for their colour pallette, and they had something like 64. This's easily one of the best channels on RUclips, and one of only a couple that I try to catch straight away on upload. Keep em coming brother!
The mega drive versions are always derided also for their awful sound.
Personally the arcade cersion of SFTMTG is one of my favorite fighting games ever. The home ports were all trash however.
The console port is pretty decent, Capcom handled it themselves and it plays like Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.
Even the music/soundtrack on the console versions are pretty decent compared to the arcade version
I prefer the arcade version. At least it is unique, silly and wacky but unique. Also I have watched some high level SFTMTG arcade matches. Those are so fun to watch
The console version is bland.
@@meganinten0078 agreed, they removed some of the hidden suppers also
@@FidFighter anything would be an improvement over the horrendous music in the arcade version, which sounded like a super Nintendo game. Only a bad super Nintendo game.
It's a video game based on a movie based on a video game. Whole new level of suck here. How can you make a game on that criteria and have it NOT turn out to be the worst of all time?
*No.*
"Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game" is _vastly_ superior in _every way_ to the ZX Spectrum port of Street Fighter II. You want hot garbage? Play your Street Fighter on _that._
The game reminds me of the old snes Mortal Kombat
Pit fighter*
One of my friends had this game. We mostly played it because it was one of the first games on Playstation and it was fun to say "Street Fighter the Movie the Game"
I legit just played this game for the first time at Barcade in Philly lol.
Is barcade a bar you can play games at? My kid lives in Philly and i.ll turn her on to the place.
Did you hate it?
@@barryklinedinst6233 yes. Depending on how old your kid is there are two. One in Fishtown that does events for kids like 1 or 2 Sundays a month can’t quite recall and one that just opened in Center City. Also I legit could not beat Vega as my first fight lol. The game felt so clunky lol.
I would rather play this game then ever touch SF5 or SF6. SF4 was the last good game in the franchise.
The arcade version was actually fun. The home ports, that’s another story.
I've always found it ironic that the reviewers of the time hated the gameplay of the console ports - while knowing that the gameplay of the Arcade version was far WORSE. That's why Capcom stepped in for the console ports. The gameplay and controls were better (on the Saturn), albeit a bit stiff The graphics were also terrible. The Arcade version looks better but that's it. The controls on the Arcade version are far worse and it DOES NOT feel like a Street Fighter game at all. The AI is also broken beyond belief. When the reviewers said that the console ports were basically SF2 Turbo with different graphics, that's what all us of thought we were going to get with the original Arcade version. We did not and the Arcade version was butchered for it by the same reviewers of the time for not "feeling" like Street Fighter.
Despite its defenders, Street Fighter: The Movie game was so janky, it makes The Avengers: Galactic Storm look like Tekken 7. 😂
No because assuming ports count there are ports of 1 and 2 to 80s and early 90s computers like ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64 that are almost unplayable.
SF The Movie is at least playable.
I was really looking forward to playing the arcade version at home because I was bored of SF and wanted to explore all the new moves and combos. When I found out the home version was changed to be like SSFII I was so disappointed and never bought it.
I can’t say I noticed the slowdown, I can’t speak about the PlayStation version because I havnt played it, the Saturn version wasn’t a bad game in my ever humble opinion, after all the gameplay is the same as super street fighter. It just wasn’t as good as the alpha games, personally I think a lot of these reviewers are being a tad dramatic.
I like this street fighter more than street fighter 6
The arcade version had great graphics but crap gameplay. The console version had crap graphics and good gameplay. And the console versions had a great soundtrack! Really, great vintage Capcom music.
I agree with all the points made in this video, except one: I don't think either the arcade version or the home "port" version are the worst Street Fighter games.
Certainly they weren't great by any means, but not what I'd call really, really bad either.....for that award, I give to the original Street Fighter 1.
I had far more fun playing these than I ever did playing that one.
14:20 ...and Fei-Long.
Music video was included with the game+CD had all the actors from film. The song is something you’ll never forget.
I love the Sega Saturn version but hate the arcade version. I never played the Playstation version.
What makes the Sega Saturn version better than the arcade version? The game looks and plays much worse than the arcade version.
I have the Saturn and arcade board but I can't figure out how to wire the kick buttons. Really don't care that much to research 😂
Good video, Top Hat! Can't wait to see your review for Street Fighter: THE ANIMATED MOVIE: The Game!
They done Dee Jay so bad in the movie 😂
They could've casted Billy Blanks for that role, like how they could've casted Mike Tyson as Balrog.
Same with T Hawk. Nothing like the game character.
@@popeye5274
That’s because the studio wanted T. Hawk to be Rambo-like.
But fans hated it because his depiction is too unoriginal and watered-down.
It actually takes CGI to bring T. Hawk to life (as well as every other gigantic or freakish street fighter).
nope that's 6, modern controls nuff said
It’s a shame the console versions are stand alones, otherwise they could have been named Street Fighter: The Movie: The Arcade Game: The Hope Port.
I would say SF1 and SF EX are worse than this game tbh.
One of the 6 games I got for Saturn for Christmas
Like the game, the movie was an absolute masterpiece. Raul Julia's best acting role came from playing M.Bison, and the Street Fighter movie was based on a true story.
I was today years old that Cammy was played by Kylie Minogue.
The psx version was basically digitized version was spot on.
It even has better sound effects than SUPER Street Fighter II.
2:45 I thought there was a bird or rodent in my room for a second!
Zangief quick change the channel 😂😂😂😂
🤔 this needed a sega cd or super cd port
Sawada was meant to play Fei Long until Capcom decided to promote his acting career by using his real name. His move set is essentially the same as Fei Long's.
its a enjoyable bad game , goof fighter the movie . street fighter the original was the WORST . atleast you can have fun playing this with friends
need to port this to ps5
Asap
Also, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Mac.
Please do videos on Mortal Kombat 3 (& UMK3), Tekken 3, DOA2, & Soul Calibur 3. As well as videos on Power Rangers battle for the Grid, Pokken Tournament (& the DX upgrade), the Blazblue series, the Persona fighting games, SNK's World Heroes series, the godzilla fighting games, Primal Rage, Mace the Dark Age, & Sonic the Fighters
this was the closest thing to get a Mortal Kombat VS Street Fighter Game
Street Fighter The Movie (arcade version) is dumb fun.
I don't care what others think, the arcade version of SFTMTG is better than the console ports.
The arcade version is like the movie, it is so brocken but fun and unique.
For those who want to play it.
Play it as its own thing, I doesn't play like a traditional SF
I have seen online matches of this thing, it is fun!
I learned about this game years ago hot damn mess lol
Street Fighter: The Movie is right up there with Mortal Kombat 1 in terms of so bad it's amazing.
Iactually prefer the arcade sounds of "Dragon" and "Hurricane".
That game honestly doesn't look like a bad play. Graphics are cutting edge. I didn't even know there was a sf game.
i like this game i think its neat. but it has been just sort of 30 years since i've played it
The recent mobile one was an absolute shitfest of micro transactions and pay to win gatcha mechanics.
Is Street Fighter the movie the game: the worst street fighter game? No.
To me, the award for that goes to the original street fighter.
Was it really that bad, when you think of all the other mk clones was it just trying to fit in with digitised graphics because when you think of it mk was ment to be a van dame game but they couldn't get him to sign then 2023 mk gets Jean Claude, if you mixed the two from yester year think of the possibility..
I want this game on Saturn... I've always been strangely attracted to this game, that I never actually played... I don't know why! 😅
I'm pretty sure a Big Lots -- of all places -- near me had this cabinet at one point.
Yes and the first Street Fighter game from the late 80's. They just suffer from terrible controls and the game AI is very cheap.
I remember how bad it was, tried it once, never touched it again
Look, I am going to say it. Something so few people touch on : They MIXED UP THE BLACK GUYS.... They have DJ as a BAD guy and Bison/Boxer as a Good guy?!?! wtf
uh 7:38 you show a blanka clip of him played? playing? is he a hidden character?
I'm sorry but sf1 didn't even work properly, pulling off moves is near impossible
This whole digitized thing was a fad until polygons started becoming more possible like with Virtua Figther. I think MK3 was it for this genre. This version is just an attempt it almost look slike a Beta . Not even suitable for production.
I bloody had this disaster when it was released 🙄
Pretty sure a handheld port would be THE worst Street Fighter game… oh, yeah, the movie lol
I know this game get hate, but I enjoyed Street Fighter The Movie game. I had some fun memories of it during summer vacation on consoles and time at Funscape arcade. Also I was big on Mortal Kombat and I thought it was cool Capcom attempted the live actor style fighter
Top Hat do a Street Fighter tier list
I played Street Fighter on Tiger Handheld.
i kinda wish i watched this on "A Tuesday"
Akuma Is An Absolute Badass In This Game!
Akuma should’ve also been in the movie, played by Bolo Yeung.
I really like Akuma's stance in those games.
He looks cooler than his stance in the mainline games.
I never seen this game in stores or at any ones house
I enjoyed it for what it was but, it is a bad SF game. I’d love to own it again just for the novelty/nostalgia I have for it.
Street fighter imitates mk without admitting you did. Done.
Is this really that bad? Separate it from the legendary OG series, and it looks like it plays ok..? 🤔
The Movie itself is FAR WORSE than the game. And if I had to pick between the Arcade and the Console, I actually prefer the Arcade game to the console version. I know this is blasphemous, but I feel the home version is bland, missing something, duller colours. But that arcade version is just different enough that it still feels unique
As someone else commented, the worst Street Fighter game is SF1. Trust us
I actually really liked this game. It played fine and was goofy enough to hold on to our nostalgia. If you go in expecting ab actual street fighter game your gonna hate it. And that what 99.9% of people did
That is the charm of the arcade version of this game.
If you want to play it as a traditional SF, you will feel dissapointed but if you play it as its own thing you will have a fun time
35 million dollar budget!
Doesn't look bad
We have Street Fighter at home
Game boy, Tighr handheld & the unofficial NES versions are worse 😂
Street fighters
The game wasn't that bad,i played it in arcades...It really wasn't terrible or horrible.
That movie was BS... Ryu and Ken are the main characters , not Guile 😓😓
Maybe the worst street fighter game but the best movie!
As a kid I liked the game. It was the closest thing I could play to Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.
Yeah, context is key here. Having come from Super Street Fighter 2/Turbo on the SNES/Genesis/3DO this was the first game of its type on the new 32 bit consoles. It's move list was very similar to SSF2 and kept us engaged (at least until Street Fighter Alpha, X-Men:COTA and Darkstalkers/Night Warriors DS2 showed up).
Graphics-wise, the digitized characters look was the current fad. Obviously Mortal Kombat and its sequels influenced here. Sega had released Shinobi Legions for the Saturn which featured digitized sprites.
Looked like MK played like street fighter…don’t get the hate lol
Street fighter 1 is the worst street fighter ever. This one and the other ones the moves actually works and respond to ur commands. Lol
Worst Street Fighter game is
Tiger Electronics' Street Fighter II
This played decent and I enjoy its quirky appeal..
Is this mortal Kombat??
Blade for SF6!
He was like the prototype of Rolento and Ibuki.
Fun facts.
Capcom made official artworks of the OC characters from SF The Movie The Game (Sawada, Blade, Arkane, Khyber and F7) for SFV website. These characters are canon in the mainline series.
Also, in Blade's profile, his weight, height are similar to Gunloc, he even likes popcorn, the same food that Gunloc likes.
They were in the ninja turtles crossover
The worst Street Fighter game is the first one.
Yes. Even worse than SF6, and that says A LOT.
This is better than street fighter 6 the gameplay actually feels like street fighter. Street fighter 6 I turned it off after 20 minutes
@@adamantium4797 Props to you man, you've got balls for torturing yourself for 20 minutes.
No, the worst one is still Street Fighter 1. At least Street Fighter The Movie Video Game had decent gameplay. However Street Fighter 1 is too slow and plays like shit!
Even street fighter 2010 was better
It’s not the worst sf game. Home ports was good
Worst sf game is street fighter 2010
