I have a lot of respect for the older men and the skills they developed over a lifetime. I noticed their hands 😮 wow do they ever tell a story. My father-in-law emigrated from Sao Miguel Acores and he had hands like that. A wonderful human being he was. This reminds me of him. I miss him lots. ❤ thanks for sharing. ❤

Thank you so much for sharing your progress. It is fascinating to watch how decisions are taken, how Rui, Manuel, Antonio and Hassan turn them into realty. I was quite scared for Antonio on his wobbly scaffolding! I love that you try to save and reuse as much material as possible from the old house.

The white calla lilies are GORGEOUS. I love what you are doing and seeing the progress in blending the new with the old. I know there is a very fine line you must walk. It’s going to be outstanding!

This was difficult to film, no doubt. But, thank you. The importance of such restoration will become even clearer as we rush deeper and deeper into this new Exponential Age. A fact that won't be lost on those in a rush to change, because as we become less vital/key as the main source of manpower, the more we will want to relearn and restore our past. Not immediately, but when we look back in 20 or 30 years the restoring of these neglected wonderful buildings will become apparent. You're just way ahead of the posse. Cheers.

Going beautifully. That 23 mins flew through, I could watch this transformation for hours. A tad scary to watch the builders wobbling at such hights, rather the than me. Cant wait for the next instalment.

Your place will be a bit of paradise once completed by your crew of hard working men. I visited Portugal at the beginning of April and loved every second of it! The weather was a bit rainy but a heck of a lot better then -26. The wild flowers were abundant and the orange orchards were intoxicating. Beautiful country with lovely people. I miss it all ready.

I am watching the walls being returned again. It is amazing to see how well the crew all work well together and are very skilled. You found wonderful people to help you. I am rather glad you skipped a week of videos because I was able to see a real difference in the work. It is going to be such a lovely home. As I watch I imagine you two on the new terrace and watching the beautiful gardens. The weather in Italy has been horrible this week and supposed to be the same next week. Last two weeks were 28 degrees every day. Spring was here. I woke up yesterday to see snow on the mountains all around the village. I love your videos. very informative and interesting. Looking forward to your next episode. Thanks so much. Katie

Thank you for sharing the progress on the renovation. The team are working hard and making such progress. It is going to be a credit to you all, and I love that you are using as much from the old house as possible. The replacement of the stone is another string to their bow. You were guiding to a great team when you hired them all. Looking forward to the next video already. Coen and Jay

Tremendous amount of work, skill and knowledge by those builders. I noticed they're using a mortar instead of mud. That's much more stable. Wow that's a lot of work!

I really missed you last week, Meraid and Dan! I hope all is well. It's wonderful to see the old house come alive again. The rooms are looking so much bigger than they did, with the addition of the wall height. With this crew, it looks like you'll be moving in in no time at al!! Thank you for bringing us the details of how the building is put together. I had no idea that the stone walls are constructed of two sides of rock and a centre of dirt. I'm glad they can use the old wood as new lintels. I hope they're treating the old wood they're putting back against wood worm! 😱 Take care of yourselves! Best. Angela

Another lovely episode. The crew is so focused. Everyone knows what they are doing from the most senior to the youngest. It is refreshing to see a young person who is attentive and respectful of his elders. Young Hassan is on his way to a wonderful career, When you come around a corner or through a doorway you do not find people talking on their cell phones, smoking cigarettes, drinking coffee and standing around shooting the breeze. I honestly did not think crews like this still existed. I hope you have a lovely week on the job and in your garden. :) I spotted a huge cluster of irises that are looking for divisions and new homes around the property. :)

Just watching builders at work is boring. You should do them on a time lapse, so we don't have to suffer the tedium, and get on with something else. You could do gardening or be choosing flooring, etc for the build. Show us some samples, some mock ups. What's your kitchen going to look like, for example? Anything but just 24 minutes of someone's house being rebuilt very slowly. Love your channel normally, but I hope you can get more interesting content going or you'll lose viewers. I'm trying to be constructive because I want to stick with you! ❤
