Now this is the way you show someone building a Log Cabin!! Laying out everything picture perfect, sweating, lift, and pulling those heavy Logs! A very youngman who knows how to work hard, and I wish, that I could have had a couple of thode hamburgers! My Hat is off to you! Great Video! I would recommend this Video!😊😊😊
big love to you mon. I built my own log home with me hands too. Its been a few years, now I am starting to think about how rad it all is. how the hard work paid off. like bob mackie said in his book, nobody will see the tree when it falls but you. nobody will know how hard it was but you. this is your thing, and they cannot take this away from you for I ever.
I agree whole heartedly! Love to see a young man in today's world with such skill and initiative to do some manual labor and create something that will last a LONG time! 🥳
Hooked from the get-go and look forward to the next video. Kudos to your dad for the wood working skills he taught you growing up. It's fascinating to watch you do everything with just the tools. And those burgers were the bomb. I can only imagine the flavor cooked on that fire. 😊
Hello friends. I just spent a few days clearing the build site of my property where I will be building a log cabin. Finally, a new video is here! PS - now you can also follow me on instagram if you want: instagram.com/matthias.cabin.chronicles/
I am loving your videos and they make me wish I was 20 years younger. I would have skipped nursing degree and masters degree. I had always been drawn to wood working and carpentry but in my younger years it never dawned me all of the things you could do with it. What a blessing to have the skills you have and kudos to your dad for getting you started when you were younger so that you would be able to figure things out like how to build a log cabin later in life! I wish I could hire you to build one for me and all my dogs and cats! 🥴
I like the way you work from the Stone's bulking out the Concrete to the way you move the Logs using the Ends, smart moves Mate & look forward to seeing the next Video 👍👍👍
I always feel I need to learn from young people. Here we go this is one of the examples. Mattia just started the channel and the way he does cabin build is very engaging. Subscribed!
Excellent work! Definitely will be following along as I just discovered your channel. Thanks for your efforts in sharing and keep up the impressive work.
I discovered your page just yesterday and will continue watching. (And I see that as more people found your videos, the number of self-appointed critics grew too: hope you simply ignore the nonsense. 🙂) Pax et bonum!
Your craftsmanship is rivaling The Outsider and My Self Reliance!!! You will do well!!! I just discovered you channel and I'm looking forward to all your endeavors!!!
Very clever and handy idea to incorporate rocks in the concrete pillars! And very interesting to see how you made them, I have a wooden house too and will need to re-build the entrance parts from scratch, including the foundation/pillars on which the wooden part then stands. Your video definitely gave me some inspiration!
I hope your budget includes $xxx.xx for dynomite and fuse ! With all that granite , both exposed and hidden your job is going to include moving some small mountains before your cabin is finished ! Excellent video !
I have been binge watching. I have found myself in a similar situation in Vermont, USA. Our lifestyle frees us of many modern problems but it has its own set of issues. Keep up the good work. And when you can breath a little, get some chickens.
Hi Matthias, I am from Canada and was wondering where you are building your cabin? Loved watching how you did your little house shed. looking forward to hearing from you.
Glad to hear that! The new video will be today :D Weekly videos would be great, but unfortunately I don't have enough time to do so much work in a week to make one video out of it. Maybe I can do it sometimes.
Matthias, new sub! You have a great channel, well done! What an honorable job and journey to build your own log cabin, Bravo! I can see you are one strong man with a lot of grit the way you move those logs around. You will be very fit once you are done building. What species of tree are you using? Praying mantis are my favorite bug! I live on west coast of US in Washington state we to have praying mantis. One acre of land here goes for $50-$60,000 USD insane! Matthias keep up the great work, awesome job! Can't wait to get caught up watching your beautiful videos. This video alone has over 94,000 views that is insane never seen that before👏😁
Thank you! The species of tree is fir. Praying mantises are very cute bugs 😁 I live in Europe in a small country called Croatia. Those are high prices. However, when it comes to the coastal part of building plots in Croatia, we only have slightly lower prices. 94K views is nothing today. There are videos with several million views. But I still have to say that I am extremely grateful for all 94K! Thanks again for the nice comment. I appreciate it 😁
Chamo-me Elói and liked of the your videos. Good afternoon, Matthias! All Right with You? I hope that yes! Thank you so much for us help with your videos! I would like to see more videos yours, the follow of the five videos for i see your work finally. Um fraternal abrao
Hi Matthias, greetings from the UK. I have just found your channel and have watched all videos so far. I admire yourcourage to tackle this monumental task. I look forward to future videos and your progress. Where in the world are you building the cabin? Take care of yourself, best of luck on your journey.
Good question. When I did my research, I noticed that with such massive wooden buildings, it is often just laid down. It is held by its own weight, which is huge. Of course, there is the possibility to fix the sill logs to concrete anytime.
Nice Job, young man! Where in Sweden are you? I live in South Florida, since 1985, but I am from Rovaniemi, Arctic Circle , Finland. my Grand father, and his brothers, they were called " Laukkanen Handyman Group", they build more than 30 Schools, and other big buildings around Arctic Circle, and most of those buildings are still there, nice and straight. One of them, Pohtimolampi, or Bear Lodge Hotel now, is close to Rovaniemi, about 30 km North, I always stay there couple nights, in Luxory Cabins, Main Hotel Building was built 1954, and big Sauna building, First 1952. You should check it out, my Grand Father and his Father, Brothers, they were Master Log Builders, and also mainly did only hand tools, they had Chainsaw though later years. Going to Finland for Christmas now, and planning to stay again couple night in Pohtimolampi, my own SUmmer Cottage is only about 7 kilometers away from there, at Ounasjoki River, in a small Village, called Sinetta, I was born and grew up there. I will be following your nice , hard build, Good Luck from Sunny South Florida, and Merry Christmas too =)
For strength don't put in big rocks and for proper weight distribution make the foundation blocks pyramid shaped or build a footing. They most likely won't topple over, unless that is a wet area certain times of the year.
You can eat double what you are and you will still lose weight. Getting the had things done while your young will put you far ahead of others your age.

Just an FYI if you had gotten a second hand froe at any flea market or second hand store you could cut boards by hand with less waste

Da, rado bi sve ručno, tako kako su nekad radili.
To pa nije tek tako! Bravo i čucaj se.@@MattJacobs-1
The knowledge you can past down to your kids is remarkable, I tried to do the same sadly my kid wasnt interested glued to social media 🙄
Then mentor a younger kid whos actually interested in what you have to teach

Hey! I'm glad you're watching my videos. I am building a log cabin in the bush of Croatian nature 😁
Thanks for the comment!
Me too.
Damn, dude. You're strong. How much do those logs weigh?
Now, I have a question... If you don't fix the boards to the concrete, how will that house stay stable?

The burgers so yummy 😋

Thank you for the advice. I hope the pillars will hold. As for the soil, it is not so wet here.
New subscriber here. Ive been binge watching your great videos. What country are you building your beautiful home?
Thanks! In Croatia.
What is the purpose of the small boards in-between the foundation and the log?
Esas piedras no absuelve el cemento, bonito si , seguro tengo mis dudas..
Where is this? Beautiful area!
Nice ❤
И я тоже с нетерпением жду следующее продолжение Молодец ❤
You are just like Erik Grankvist, same age??, Are you guys close by in Sweden ??? Keep it up , young man !=)
Thanks! Erik is two years older than me I think. I like Sweden, but I'm actually from Croatia :D
You can eat double what you are and you will still lose weight. Getting the had things done while your young will put you far ahead of others your age.
👍
is this going to be your home 🦋💕
Yes, I will live in it :)
the Centre Log that is placed on the cement is too thin and already started cracking , its a huge weakness and will be a problem in the future
Those foundation supports look a bit shallow
👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
❤❤❤❤
What is the black stuff your brushing on too the half logs?
