I played battlefront 1 & 2 religiously on the PS2 when I was a kid during the 2000s. I haven't been this excited for a release in a very long time :-)

@@Johncharbonneaucharette Lol I never played online back in the day either sadly. I had always wanted too but I had the fat PS2 and never had the network adapter thing for online play. Only solo & split screen with my brother or friends. It was still a fun time nonetheless!

I remember getting Battlefront 2 for my 15th birthday. Me and a few friends already knew my mom got it on release day (a few days before my birthday) and we all begged her to let us do chores around the house to give it to me early. Mission successful!

I remember owning the Episode 3 disc and going to the bonus content and it had a Battlefront 2 and Empire at war trailer . That was my first time seeing the trailer and ever since then Battlefront 2 has become my all time favorite game ever. I got it on Pc, ps2, and now I’ll be able to get it on Ps5 I’m too hype!

This trailer brought me so many memories especially seeing Naboo, and the clones running through the Jedi temple. Miss playing this with my brother and cousins. So many great memories to relive

I'm super excited for this, I know they specified offline for the story and Galactic conquest but it'd be really cool if they could add some coop compatibility in at some point later down the line, would love to play that with some friends too.

So this is good, way overdue for a multiplayer in the star wars universe. Playing Xbox one. Never played these two games, the last battle front 2, was a life changer, I played it for transiston during my recovery form opiets!

I heard something about if this battlefront collectors edition goes well like if a lot of people go buy it apparently they might think about making a battlefront three
If EA / Dice expanded on these two games with today's graphics keeping inline with the graphics first as last we wouldn't of had any issues or have the need to look back.

Lmao.. this community has fallen. We've accepted we are never getting a BF3, and now we're back to moping and crying. EA is not making another battlefront, ok? They cancelled another SW game, and had a falling out with lucasarts after Disney pulled the deal. They are effectively boycotting SW. Who else is gonna make one? Respawn? Nope. Activision? Hell fucking no, Ubisoft? Maybe, but they focus primarily on story games and live service games which wouldn't make a good Battlefront. If we keep holding onto battlefront, we're gonna lose sight of the big picture which is having frequent SW games in general. ALL THIS GAME IS is a fan service and a quick buck. That's it. It's not here to gauge player counts, it's not here to bring new content to the game, it's a quick cashout disguised as a fan service. We aren't trying to shit on the community here, but we all know it's never gonna come. So, let's move on and look forward to ANY SW game we get.

I used to play bf2 with my uncle when i was a kid. He told me about the weapon mastery upgrades you can get for all the standard classes(the ones that are already unlocked) you got to get a certain amount of kills to get them and certain amount of headshots with the sniper in one life.

I remember going on a family vacation and my parents letting my brother and me take our Xbox with us to play in the hotel. Across the huge parking lot and across the street was a Circuit City. We went in to get a new controller and we came across Battlefront II. We didn't even know it had come out. We ran back to the hotel asked if we could buy it and that was a wrap. We played it every time we came back to the hotel. We played it on the way home (lucky enough to have a tv in dads van with rca) So to keep what experience we had we both will be getting it on the Xbox One.

I remember that my family had to upgrade the main PC just so I could be able to play. Then I thanked them and spent many hours playing Battlefront 2.

The brief Utapau and Felucia maps gave my brain an instant jolt of nostalgia. Such fun maps these games had. I also miss that one Omaha Beach styled map on BF1 on Kashyyyk

Actually, the collection releases in a week. Anyway, I have a lot great memories with the Geonosis Spire map. They really went hard with map designs back then.
Battlefront and HALO Combat Evolved were the first games I ever played. At 36 years of age I'm ready to go back to revisit my childhood.....For The Republic!!!😊😊😊

The trailer looks awesome. But it seems there is something missing. 4 Player split screen. Which was in the OG XBOX version of the game.

I am excited to play online multiplayer on console. I never had a chance to play online on my PS2 for I did not have a network adapter for it. I first played it with my friends on their Xbox and then bought it for my PS2. I have countless hours put into it. I cycle through the Campaign, Galactic Conquest and Instant Action. I bought the PC version a few years back on GOG when I heard that they brought back online multiplayer on it. I will be playing this on my PS4.
I just got my preorder yesterday and can’t wait to play I played stars battlefront 1 and 2 remember having it on ps2.

Totally the vibe of the good old game commercials from the 90s and 2000s, it conveys a very good feeling, to this day this game is one of the best Star Wars games, I hope that someday they make a Battlefront 3 on par with what BF3 would be by Free Radical if it had been released.

I like this trailer a LOT MORE than the announce trailer, to be honest. THIS should’ve been the announcement trailer, I STILL CANNOT believe that these games are coming back to modern consoles! I’m DEFINITELY playing this on the PS5, wanna see these games run on 60FPS. I’ve never played the first original game, so, playing this collection will be like a brand new game AND experience for me. But the original Star Wars Battlefront II I remember VERY WELL!
They really need to add crossplay. This trailer was also great, this game honestly looks better than most modern games.

Idk, 30€ for 4k texture and working multiplayers. Mmhh with instant gaming you can get the 2 original game for like 3€ and mod them to add better graphic. So 30€ for the multiplayer. I'll wait.

I never really played Battlefront 2 very much, because I wasn't super into the hero characters. I preferred BF1 where it was just the grunts fighting it out.
Which part of it sparked my memory?
The trailer. All of it.
Never played much of the OG. I remember being in the daycare at the YMCA as a kid and another kid that was there let me play battlefront (1 or 2 idk) on his DS and I was blown away. I still remember thinking the graphics looked like real life lol. My late cousin loved these games and we were all star wars nuts but he was the only one that had a console so I never got to play the OG much. Played the absolute hell out of force unleashed and the Lego games though. Only thing me and my bro were allowed to have as kids was a Wii so I missed out on the Battlefront. However years ago I got the game on Steam and played the campaign all the way through as well as some quick action. I have like 30 hours in the game and I really like the gameplay but I haven't played in years and am pretty much a noob.
However the 2015 battlefront is a different story. Another cousin and I were in the top players in the world for a little while. We could solo entire lobbies of max level players just by ourselves. We played the hell out of that game at it's peak and it's still some of the most fun I've ever had gaming. I liked the 2017 one as well but not quite the same for me. Still probably have like 100 hours in it though.
I'm really excited for the re-release. I really hope it does well and that Disney takes notice and maybe makes a new Battlefront 3 game at some point, and I think if this game does well then there might some incentive to make a new one. Even if it's not and it's just a standalone thing I'm more excited for this then I have been for any other recent game. I want to get in on the action I missed out on as a kid and I want to play large battles with some classic arcade style gameplay. I don't care about the graphics I care about having fun and I think this re release will deliver hours of that. Hopefully...
I remember seeing machinimas of Star Wars Battlefront with the words "Fraps" at the top. And then I went and downloaded Fraps thinking that was the name of the Star Wars game 😂
Nostalgia is powerful...I am thinking of buying it just because of the Multiplayer...
Kind of surprises me that Galactic Conquest is still single player only, aside from split screen as usual I imagine. Guess it's too hard to wrangle keeping 2 or more online players connected. I hope they also fix some of the issues the originals had, mainly things like Han Solo being unable to swap back to his blaster after using the Fusion Cutter, Wookiee Warriors having to charge all the way to fire a single bolt, and let's not forget the pointless animation of Rebel AI shooting dead enemies. Now that I see my list, it seems like the devs had it in for the Rebels, most of the problems affect them. Would be cool to see some sort of character customization too, but I don't expect that will show up in a remaster.
Still have my original xbox copies of BF1 and BF2. this time around ill I'll still have portable battlefront with the switch instead of the PSP and PC as well for that mod support
while I love BF1 and 2, We need to look at why this game is coming out: because EA ignored fans and did a 'new' battlefront game that was basically just a reskin of battlefield. it ignored everything that made the originals great. What would it have been like if dice made a battlefront game instead of a battlefield game? I will play this, but I don't want to forget the waste of potential the starwars videogames have been for the last 10 years or so. The only GOOD games that stand out to me in the series is fallen jedi and squadrons

I am not sure what this means for the EA BFII. I never played these as a kid but did play the newer generation games and had fun with them. Not sure if this collection will drum up enough interest from the fans to keep their attention since the new BFII is still playable. But I am interested just the same. Not sure whether I would buy on PC or PS5.
Massive L to us all that Galactic Conquest is only offline mode. Was hoping it would be at least a 1 v 1 or Co-op in that game mode.

I played 1 a lot as a kid home sick as a kid was playing off from school for whatever reason playing it. Winter/ summer break played it. Never got the second one though don’t know why.
I remember Mos Eisley being the only map where you could play as all the heroes and villains at once. So glad they expanded to multiple maps. This game is gonna be so fun💯. I just hope that the newer generation plays, loves, and appreciates this game as much as the men and women who played them when they originally dropped💯💯

I’m thrilled to get a chance to play again! I played these games a ton in middle school, high school and college with friends. These games bring back some really great memories and I can’t wait to jump back. Whether age 13 or now at 35, these games still are awesome! See you all online
So how does this work for the people who bought Star wars battlefront II back when steam opened servers back up? Plus this technically no new content since all of this was on the PlayStation 2 version. I'm not feeling like getting it if so unless heavily discounted
I need Qui-Gon as a playable hero. He’s been my favorite Jedi since Episode 1 came out and there are only a handful of games where you can play as the iconic master of Obi-Wan.
I grew up on these games playing them on my PS2 and I still play them on Xbox. I hope they patch that unlimited Force Choke glitch cause that's going to be so misused.

Im assuming the controls will be smoother. Obviously the originals feel a bit stiff now. Fav games of all time, but just would like some things being brought up to date like that
I'm just curious what micro transactions are going to be in here cause the eula states that they're supposed to be implementing that to fund the game if it's just skins that's fine but pay to win is a no go. Probably will be just be skins from the movies or legion skins for clones something like that.

I played the first game with my brother and sister when we were kids and now we all getting it on Switch and playing together with online for the first time. Hopefully it runs well and hope everyone has fun with it. Its still a great game to this day.
Why are they not able to offer Galactic conquest mode online with one friend in a savable game that the two players can go back to from time to time? This is the mode players want the most by far.
