I like that game but some puzzles make no sense and some gameplay mechanics are clunky, thus it's good to have a walkthrough to look it up. I hope the Bone Totem one is better.
i just didnt understand the part at 2:36:43. He founds that one of the hybrids hosts was his wife and is clearly disturbed by that, later when he shuts off power in the room with pregnant women he sings their lullaby (so, supposedly one of them is Elen?) but then, later, elen is....in one of cryo pods..alive.(Did they abandon that plot line half way trough the end?) And in the ending cutscene we are shown that someone in the end of this giant ass ship with the same colour of hair as elen is dead....i didnt quite understand all of this. Can someone please explain???
That's how I understood it: Of one of the 4 hybrids, Nay, the Host was Ellen Maracheck. However, it doesn't say that she is one of the three pregnant ladies in the other room. I'm even willing to say that all the hosts mentioned in the list have died because of the experiments. So did she. Her body was then placed on a gurney (which you can see next to her stasis pod at the end 3:17:00) and put in a storage room. Most likely because she was the mother of a hybrid that survived and thrived, her modified DNA might still be important for future experiments. That’s why Te'ha and her accomplices wanted Ellen's bodies. However, when they try to get the body, they accidentally release the hybrids, that then wreak havoc throughout the ship. We know the rest: They need the DNA from our main characters so that they can find Rebecca (in Project Seed only women were "allowed" as Host, who have given birth to a child or miscarried in the late stages of pregnancy) and then use heir DNA to find the body of Ellen. She's dead from the start, we only find out about it towards the end or get hints, for example when Te'ha gets so scared when she finds Ellen, because her body has rotted so far that only her skeleton and hair are left. She also lied to us that she was fine and in stasis, possibly so we don't kind of go crazy. (3:00:05) You could also take the death of our daughter as a clue. (Malan knows everything about us and we destroy his work, he only kills our daughter for that, but why not our wife too? Simple: She is already dead.) I also suspect that John would have recognized Ellen, if she were one of the pregnant ladies. But why does he sing a song at the end, when he turns off the life support systems? The Reason: the lady on the bottom left is awake compared to the other two and trying to communicate with us (at least that's what the text says when you hover over her at 2:29:51) She is also the only one who moves at the end when the system shut down.(2:41:20) He sang the song to calm her down.
01:59:00 - How did you even know what to use for the chemicals and dosages? I could see details for some of them on three stasis pods in the room, but how did you know the rest?
I just play this game for the first time and I figured it out, the aswer is hidden in pda's! For legs you find one in storage room just above, second is on table in room with medical capsule. There are drawings on those pda's frame when you inspect them too read. That gives you another two formulas, last one, for knees, you simply have to quess, there are only six possibilities for knees.
There is a part two to this, this game is amazing. I obviously live under a rock. But loved the game play, flawless walkthrough and enjoyed every second of it.
This gives me Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics vibes man tho there's a bit of SOMA in it to :D ..... thus this game is far more thrilling and horrifying :D great gameplay mate. :D
Dont get how you found the part how to revive the guy in the pod for the green fluid. There were some hints around the room, but not enough to get all of them and still you just made it somehow? would be lovely to know the explanation for that one.
I figured out 5 of the 6 hints then brute forced the last one so I'll tell you what I do know. 3 of the hints are inside the same room as the stasis pod shown on the displays of each respective broken stasis pod with some diagram of which body part it is. The other 2 (I don't know where the last one was) are found as taped on notes to PDAs. One on the leg PDA at 1:54:39, and the other on the PDA he never opens on seen on the table at 1:50:00. These notes don't seem to connect to a specific body part but the chemicals for each body part are unique so you figure out which one by scrolling though. On the display hints you are shown the body part, structural formula of the compound (also noted as a number of squares corresponding with the display where you select the chemical), and dosage (as lines) but on the PDA hints you just get strucural formula and dosage (but as a number instead of lines (the one in the Leg PDA has the number shown as a circled 4, and in the unopened PDA it just says x1 next to curly brackets enclosing the chemical formula)). From that I just brute forced the 4 possible options for the last chemical. Can't say, lore-wise, what crackhead would organised a de-stasis formula by programming 3 defunct pod displays, 2 as post-it notes on dead peoples PDAs and let you brute force the last one because they took the last note with them home but as a puzzle it's puzzling, so... hmm... it's just weird, but that's where the other (minus 1) hints are.
2:13:06 (if he had used the queen's royal jelly that she made to feed her children with nutrients, he could've saved a lot of lives) instead of just stealing a pincer to stab a tree to steal it's sap..
2:53:20 he could've used the Queen insect's royal jelly on her, to instantly heal her.. this part the game got wrong, by not realizing he could have saved some in a jar.. its miraculous curative properties, described like an hour earlier in the nursery bay or something, could heal any wound (the medical diary even said so).. he could've used it on himself, after his spine was operated on to remove his own PDA tracking device on his back.. but he didn't do that either.. naturally, the game must preserve it's grim outlook of vore, to maintain a gore'ish atmosphere of horror.. but in reality, if he had any research abilities, he would've instantly realized how the jelly milked from that vast insect was there to help him save people.. what a wasted opportunity.. he could've saved his daughter (but the tear-jerking gains more sympathy) after the recent attack.. well, that's an optimistic touch to a game that had to do the opposite..
It seems to me that you are partially right, since he could use it, but did not, because no one will be healed at this station: only corpses, monsters and crazy people remained on board, not counting a small contingent of people, and, secondly, a case with his daughter - there he experienced such a shock that I think he got it out of his head, or he saw that even the "panacea" in his hands would not help save her (we were not shown the whole scene). In general, from the director's point of view, some points may be missed that would close such questions, but in terms of the logic of the actions and inactions of the hero, everything seems to be quite normal and natural.
That obviously wasn't his daughter. His daughter looked to be about 8-12, whereas the girl shown as dying is considerably younger, say about 2-3. Plus, his daughter had light blonde hair, not dark. The protagonist was likely psychotic at that point.
Spoiler: God all that and that asshole malan still manages to kill his daughter .. I legit cried and feel bad for Jhon he doesn't deserve any of that edit: WTF WAS THAT ENDING
I recently got a copy of it but haven't installed it. The reviews all say it's quite stellar but that the 'body horror' is quite intense and the game is very gruesome. I scanned thru this and didn't see anything really bad till 2:04:30 - the spinal surgery. I had to mute it and turn away. Is this as bad as it gets or is there worse and how often does it get graphic? I'm asking because I've got PTSD and I can't handle gore and depictions of severe pain due to past events. Any insights would be appreciated.
If I understand correctly: yes. Our main character is mortally wounded. The daughter was killed and his wife died for whatever reasons. I even believe that John prevented the Cayne Corps from being destroyed because of the experiments. Because he kills Te’ha with the machine guns. Her plan was to destroy Cayne Corp as they killed her husband in a demo and wanted to use John wife's bones (she had already been experimented on and most likely died by that) as evidence. If she had told John that she was already dead, he would maybe have allowed her to escape (or not because she still more or less exploited him and his family ). He most likely didnt see that his wife was dead (he is badly wounded, is dying and because of the whole story he surely has PTSD). Now the rescue ship with the corpse will land somewhere on a planet / moon and nobody knows what to do with it (nobody except for Cayne Corp.) Only the company could benefit from it, since experiments have also been carried out on John's wife and the bones still have contents of the substance to be tested, they can extract them, so not all „discoveries“are lost.
Found this to be a slog, the characters talk too darn slow, the main character moves to slow, even when running. It's not scary. It is not even a game, but a novella made into a point and click graphic novel. PDA's with no one using a security code on every single one? Obviously so you can read the story. I had to watch this to see what the heck I missed clicking on. At least the graphics were decent. Rank on a 1-10 scale: 2. One point for the decent graphics. One point for the story idea.
