Certain mechanics seemed like they didn't really work, like distracting a meat eater with meat. Enemies blend in with the foreground/background, making it hard to pick what's an actual enemy sometimes (metroidvanias usually have targets presented and colored in a way where it's obvious what's a target). The gameplay looks especially stiff as well, which is concerning. There's a lot of variables that I am seeing, and if this is a solo-dev project I unfortunately expect the game to launch and not be worked on further. There's a lot of sell it as beta 0.9 an call it a 1.0, and then never iron out the issues. Something about having other team members helps a project actually get polished. Not everyone is the dev from stardew valley, where it's a passion project.
Surprisingly deep mechanics in this game!
8:24 Revenge
Actually a really interesting setting for a metroidvania.
