My Toyota has electric power steering and it is flawless. My Sonata has jerky steering at highway speed. Hyundai won't acknowledge that they have a problem.
And all the other things mentioned here, what is the steering clunk from the column? Is this system flawed? I think so. It's not the rack as I was mislead to believe. Wow.
Hyundai Accent is known in Mexico as "Attitude" but here it is sold by Dodge. One week ago the EPS light showed up and it was very hard to drive the car. Turned it on after a few minutes and the problem was gone but it is the third time it happens.
Tonight just proved that too much tech in a vehicle is a severe problem.Try having a purge valve, abs and the EPS all go out in less than six months. This is why I've said for years electronics in cars are designed to fail intentionally so dealerships can milk you for everything. They didn't even catch the abs failure, autozone caught it and so did Firestone tire!
Its a pitty that HYUNDAI can't fix the intermittent steering issue I have after having 5 Wheel Alignments the vehicle still does pull to the left intermittently...... BTW Hyundai had a huge problem in the USA with many Sonata's pulling to one side.... I myself and other i40 owners here in Aus are having steering issues which Hyundai can't fix 100%.....
Anything before 2010 normally doesnt.Id go earlier around 2000,and see if it's motor assisted or hydraulically controlled and has a clockspring in the steering column. My 1997 mustang gt didn't have any of this.
What is funny about this video is where it mentions not to open the MDPS unit assembly.. Yet there are many out there having to replace the Flex Coupler. And replacing it without needing to perform the APS calibration.. lol.. Its only required if the shaft gets moved from its old KNOWN location.... Rolls eyes...
@@drivingfaild726 Yes you can check the fuse if the fuse good just go to a place has OPD to programming device to reprogram the steering wheel angle sensor and that’s it
Same issue. EPS came on after startup. Steering is stiff. No power assist. Found out about Hyundai recall 127 and found that a reprogramming of the mobis module had already been performed in 2015. Towed to dealer and waiting on confirmation on diagnosis codes. What codes did your cars have? Did you get it resolved and how? I'm hoping to have mine done under a continuation of recall 127
Andrei, did you have to replace the coupling? I have a noise, but it doesn´t just happen when the steering wheel is turned it also happens when i go over rough road, even slightly rough road. Definitely a clanking coming from either the motor or the controller.
Rob Getman yes, try moving the steering wheel with the engine off in fast sequence left and right a couple of degrees. If it clunks under the console, then it's the coupling.
Literally the worst design ever. Manufacturer; Let's make a steering system that uses a $12 coupler bushing and we charge people $400 to replace it. 🤦🏻♂️
Does this cause the car to not start at all because the steering wheel isn't locking when the car is off
Ohh, I see the rht runs the logic regional scanner and that flows the dew to the Jeffries connecter.

It's the plastic gear that connects steering wheel and steering column shaft. They break
Is this the same system installed in the new Hyundai i10?

I have this car but my issue is steering wheel turns all the way around but not the wheels they don't turn

Tyre got pincher and steering became hard while turning right and left what's the problem
Why on the recalled 2011 Sonatas steering do you update the EPS software de best regards from hyndai service
Because if they don't reset the eps the diagnostic tool will still read it as faulty because it hasn't accepted the new part.
Hi
My steering wheel angle need to adjust can i do that by easydiag

Can someone help me source my knowledge and spare parts for the steering system, on all models
Any where can I get a list of cars without this. This looks like nothing but trouble.

It's easy and comfort to drive

Hyundai designs it to break down, this is how the dealer makes money on replacing cheap shit parts.
Why you going with a backstreet mechanic......Why u cant search any Hyundai Dealer near by u.....
i have problem in my hyundai elantra 2008 there is light com-up on dashboard EPS is this problem in MDPSCM

Too bad they don't show how shitty the coupling bush is an how the dealer will charge you 600 bucks to replace a $2 item...

Why Hyundai doesn't recall Accent's with EPS problems from ROMANIA ??? Or we are the losers who pay...
