- This is live music at its best. From the Jam perform a small medley of Jam songs. "All Mod Cons" and "To Be Someone (Didn't We Have a Nice Time)"
"All Mod Cons" was originally the title track from The Jam's album released in 1978. The title is a British idiom you might find in housing advertisements. It means "all modern conveniences" and is a pun on the band's association with the Mod revival. The lyrics of this song criticise fickle people who attach themselves to people who enjoy success and leave them once it's over.
"To Be Someone (Didn't We Have a Nice Time)" originally featured on the album "All Mod Cons" which was released in 1978. This song has been seen to be about living for fame and then losing it all.
This performance comes from the "From the Jam - A 1st Class Return" concert Live at the Forum in December 2007. From the Jam kick off at full speed, each one complimenting the other and the material as fresh as when it was at the top of the UK Charts! They turned a chilly night in North London into a rhythm inferno, and in doing so, rewrite modern world anthems for the 21st century!
From the Jam line up:
Bruce Foxton - Bass Guitar, Acoustic Guitar and Vocals.
Rick Buckler - Drums.
Russell Hastings - Lead Vocals, Guitar and Acoustic Guitar.
Dave Moore - Guitar, Bass, Keyboards and Backing Vocals.

They do justice to the tunes... I'm all for it! BRILLIANT STUFF!
Love that second guitar there. Made it sound richer.
If you couldn't see him you would think it was Weller. Brilliant the whole thing.
Saw this band in Portland USA. DELIVERED is an understatement...they meant it...raw, real and a beautiful ode to the Holy Trinity.
Look at Rick Butler when To Be Someone starts, joining in with the lyrics , and properly enjoying being part of The Jams best ever song. Love or loathe him, Weller was a genius!!
You are right
Loathe for the moment. He could do a one off at RAH for the old fans. Would energize his solo stuff too.
Saw the Jam several times,... Was at last gig in Brighton, When the Jam split up, it broke my heart, 😭,... Thank God Bruce carried it on,.. I waited 28yrs to meet these guys,... Finally, had drinks n chats after First Forming of FTJ at Cambridge, 🙏😎😎😎💞
I didn't see them after Going Underground single came out but those 70's shows were just incredible. FTJ do a bloody great job.
Russell hasting spot on, bass and drum from Bruce and Rick still sounding outstanding.
I've lost count how many times I've seen From the Jam. 2011 was the best year before it started to get really crowded. 2018 was unbelievably crowded. After that I said enough is enough. Great days and happy memories.
Brilliant Band! Saw 'THE JAM' as a 14 year old on the 'All Mod Cons' tour! Saw 'The Style Council' live and Paul Weller live many many times! But fair play to 'Rick and Bruce' for carrying on with Russel Hastings as lead singer/guitarist, they really are amazing live! Saw them first in 2007 when Rick was still in the band, and seen them several times since he left! Great Music will NEVER Die! dx
Brilliant. To be someone and 90% of all Mod Cons is all brilliant.
JANER64 can I ask what 10% isn’t good?? Just intrigued
He actually sounds like Weller! Very good, indeed deedy!
Let's all pretend hah
I went to watch these a couple of days ago . Brilliant night out .
From the Jam, are brilliant they are close to the real deal. Keep going Russell 💪
Still as sharp as ever - fantastic stuff!
Who needs Weller,... This is just as Good,.. Live FTJ are Awesome
Not really.
Perfect!!
I love this song. To be someone must be a wonderful thing. Watch it, Paul is just kidding.
Superb!
Great fucking song one of my favourite jam singles
What would Weller think of this? I think it is great stuff !
huskyjerk I think at this point it's all just music and he is happy people still enjoy it. I first heard this song nearly 40 years ago... Who knew it would still be so relevant... We didn't even know what we had.
what can i say rick on drums sounds like he back in 80s.
Wow he sounds a LOT like Paul Weller
This is why England won few World cups, they have, and will always have, the best bands in the world. If number one also in football it would be intolerable.
I didn't know they toured without Paul Weller? My 1st instinct was to slate this due to that fact but they've done a pretty good version and the stand in vocalist is pretty close.
JANER64 When Paul Weller split the jam he was adamant he would never ever get the band back together and has stuck to that . Richard Hastings does a fine job & Rick has drummed with them on occasions
I saw The Jam twice but have seen From The Jam 5 times
Brill
Dallon Weeks brought me here.
All Mod Cons is ridiculously slow. I nearly fell asle..... 💤
Well don't Listen to it then you listen to nursery riyms
@Janet Littlewood Don’t tell me what to do. You’re not my mum.
@@gunofapreacherman1340 good job
Janet Littlewood Why?
Love the jam hate Weller...
Why
Is this a joke ?!?!? Weller IS the fucking JAM! Without him it’s just mediocre karaoke. Sorry Bruce & Rick. Just keeping it real.
