  • You know how to take the mean, but can you TRIM THE MEAN? This video will demonstrate what a trimmed mean is, as well as how to calculate one.

    What if no specific percentage is requested? What if the question simply asks for a “Trimmed Mean” and nothing more?

    what if the percentage of data that we need to trim is not an integer, if there are 18 observations and we need to trim 10%?

      Then you will take the round of (n*c). Here n is the total number of data points and c is the percentage in point.

      You would interpolate between the data but not round... :x

    Not helpful. What if I have 15 data points and need a 10% trimmed mean? Take 1.5 off each side????

      Lawrence Battle my professor said to calculate a 20% trimmed mean and a 10% trimmed mean then average the two
